Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16. Last week the author of this short article waxed lyrical about the return of ‘The Lord’ and Big Sam. Unfortunately we have no returning greats this week but we doubt you could top those two numpties anyway.

Chelsea, yet again, kick off our game-week at lunchtime on Saturday as they visit a West Ham side who have not been revitalised by their new manager. Hardly surprising as it is David Moyes.

3pm on Saturday afternoon brings us five more games. None of which are likely to set pulses racing. Marco ‘you’re not as good as Big Sam’ Silva brings his Watford side to Burnley. Crystal Palace who are unbeaten in their last four at home welcome Bournemouth. Newbies Huddersfield & Brighton face each other at the John Smiths Stadium. Spurs face Stoke as Harry Kane battles to save his FPL career. And a team who recently sacked Tony Pulis face a team who will soon appoint Tony Pulis as Swansea host West Brom.

Saturday draws to a conclusion as a Newcastle team in freefall welcome Leicester City.

For once, Sunday actually is a Super Sunday! At lunchtime Arsenal travel down to Southampton for a game that is nothing but an appetiser for what’s to come. At 2:15pm Liverpool and Everton meet for the 229th time. Recent history certainly favours the red side of Merseyside but Big Sam is likely to have his side fired up for the encounter. The main course arrives at 4:30pm in the shape of the Manchester derby as 2nd hosts 1st. Let’s hope this is more like last week’s game between United and Arsenal rather than the recent Liverpool v United game. Whatever the outcome Jose will surely have something to moan about.

  1. Evening everyone!

With two transfers and £0.2m in the bank – and Elliot not playing anymore, Bournemouth losing the ability to keep a clean sheet with crappy fixtures ahead – I’m thinking Elliot to Gomes and Daniels to Gomez, which would leave £0.1m in the bank. Good idea?

  2. Any news on Ramsey? I see him flagged but he played 90 minutes. What’s the deal?

  3. Do I play this the next GW like this or use my FT to do Ramsey out? Don’t know if I want to go with Richardlison or Shaqiri.

    • Matt

      Any additional cash?

      • 0.3 itb so feck all.

        • Depends if you want to take a hit. Not saying you should but ideally Son would be a great replacement.

If not then you’re looking at maybe Richarlison or one of the Leicester boys.

        • Yeah Son is on my radar. Just don’t know who I would downgrade and even if I’d want to.

What Leicester lad would you go with Albrighton?? Can’t afford Mahrez.

        • Albrighton or Gray are both playing very well behind Vardy.

          Albrighton I favour personally.

        • I’d prefer Albrighton too. I’m going to suggest an option that is really out there but what do you think of Ramsey to a Hammers mid??

        • Who would you go for?

Not a bit of an overreaction to one good result?

        • Lanzini is in the lead. I was looking at Leicesters fixtures too and they are fairly similar to the Hammers ones so I was thinking more differential as well. It really is a close call for me between Albrighton and Lanzini.

      • he has .3

        • I probably be willing to go Ramsey to Richie or Ayew to Calvert just to be sure you have more cover over the coming weeks, plus the fixtures are not too bad.

        • Do you mean Ritchie of Newcastle or do you mean Richardlison??

    • With it being the case Ramsey either would or wouldn’t play at all (as opposed to being subbed on), perhaps play him ahead of Kenny and then the Everton player can always come in.

Just don’t like five defenders starting if I’m honest, with how much of a liability they can be.

  4. Below average this week.

Thank goodness for Kane and Salah or I would be miles off.

Like when the next deadline comes around so quick, you can put these bad ones to bed straight away.

  5. Should I do anything early here? I have 2FTs and 0.8 itb. Zeegalar could go and not sure on Mustafi’s injury. Was thinking about getting rid of Morata for Austin or Calvert-Lewin and upgrading the midfield but I can’t decide what is best.

  6. 45 points and a mixture of red and green arrows this week. The one that really counts was red though – I’m about 50K down ion the overall ranking since my GW14 WC. The triple Chelsea hasn’t really paid off.

Any thoughts on what I should do this week – 2FT and £0.7m ITB. The disposable players are Daniels, Morata and Groß. If I transferred all three out that leaves some options:

A – Firmino, Rooney, £7.4m midfielder (possibly Richarlison as Watford’s fixtures are turning)
B – Rooney, De Bruyne, £5.7m forward (Mounie or Bony seem to be the only ones in that price range

Anything else I should look at? I’ll get round to downgrading Azpi and raising funds, but as there aren’t many clean sheets around over this period there’s no rush.

    Robbo

    • Hey Robbo

I would have some more faith in these Chelsea lads due to the fixtures ahead.

As opposed to your list, for me Wilson is now your priority I think. DCL would be a nice move I think.

      • Yeah I’dbe keeping the Chelsea lads.

      • Hey GP & Matt. I keep hearing Morata is due a break…though I suppose everyone is prone right now so I’m sure you’re right.

Just realised I typed Daniels instead of Wilson…Daniels was my priority who I got rid of last week :-)). DCL could be a nice option as it means I don’t have to soil my team with Rooney laugh

Would appreciate your thoughts on the Groß to Richarlison move. Brighton seem to have lost form and I’d say Watford’s next 5 will see quite a few goals. Wilson>DCL means I would have £7.4m for a midfielder so open to other options there.
