Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 18 from all at FF247!

    Loud Atlas says:

How are your cup matchups looking? I’m playing a Macedonian ghost team ranked at around 4m. I should be ok…hopefully!

    SAFs_hairdryer says:

So many players in good form but Salah seems the one to have. Is it foolish to sack off Kane for Salah? I don’t know whether spurs having the most congested fixtures will hinder them or not

    Rosco says:

This Salah fella is ruining every game week for me! Might have to bring him in…

      Zed Leppelin says:

Looks so threatening too, could have scored a hatty tonight quite easily

      Kralin says:

The GW has only just started, there are plenty of points to come.

This time tomorrow those who captained Sterling / Sane will probably be chuckling to themselves.

Salah may be given a breather on Boxing Day.

      • Smash says:

Yeah I feel I have maybe got away with it as I have no City players for tomorrow

        • Kralin says:

Which presumably you’ll be tidying up in the wildcard. I went a week or two without City players but felt I was walking on very thin ice.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I’m not too bothered about Leicester away but I’d expect to have a couple on my wildcard after that at the expense of Kane

        • Kralin says:

I think if wildcarding now I’d be looking at Rashford and Martial. Interested to see how Man U play today. There are potential bargains to be had there, like a new year’s sale come early. Maybe.

      • Rosco says:

Very true, I think I’m jaded as those players I brought in for him have as yet not matched him and took me down over 70k in 3 weeks! Hoping this is the week they make his points moot!

        • Smash says:

As much as I hope they don’t I’m sure one of Sane or Sterling will bag a load of points. I think Kane is the one to ditch but has a great fixture next

        • Kralin says:

You should be OK. City are at home to Palace. You’d think that’s going to be at least 3-0.

        • Aarron13 says:

Do you think Aguero starts tomorrow?

        • Smash says:

Manchester paper thinks Aguero starts. Kind of makes sense so Jesus gets the Leicester game but who knows with Pep Roulette

        • Aarron13 says:

I’m reading Jesus starts as he only got 12 minutes against Leicester on Tuesday?

        • Kralin says:

Unless you’ve got money bet on his starting – which I hope you haven’t – or have triple-captained him – then I’d distract yourself with other things until 2pm tomorrow, when the truth will be revealed. If he’s benched hopefully you’ll get a stirring 30 minute cameo and a couple of goals.

        • Aarron13 says:

I ain’t got Aguero yet, mulling on binning off Kane?

        • Kralin says:

Ah, well, we can all relax. I was getting worried, A13. I thought maybe you’d bet the money you should have been donating to Centrepoint, or spending on Xmas presents, on Kun starting and scoring the first goal.

Like you I’m seeing Kun as a possible replacement for Kane, but not yet – mainly because I think Kane should match his points’ output over Xmas. But maybe he won’t.

I’m thinking Kun after the Liverpool game, maybe, but we’ll see. It could all change if Kane limps off on Sunday.

        • Aarron13 says:

Wasn’t Aguero on the bench at the same stage last season when Jesus started banging in the goals?, I’ll leave kane in for now got decent game’s coming up

      • constantine says:

Exactly Kralin. I got Sterling for Salah last week. He was already 4 points plus for me. Now Sterling has to score more than 8 points to balance things out, which doesn’t look impossible if he starts. Nkt worried too much right now if we compare both teams’ next few fixtures. Will be happy if Sterling scores a brace though

    igy4 says:

The BPS is rubbish! Salah only on 1 point and Alisson on 2!

      Kralin says:

Just chill about that. He got us a goal, an assist, a clean sheet bonus. 24 points for me is a good return. Beats those crappy weeks when we get 4 points for our captain. You should see green arrows tonight, if you can be bothered to stay up.

      • igy4 says:

I’m happy with the points and not being ungrateful but for someone who gets an assist, a goal and a clean sheet and many more shots on target, you would think earns more bonus points than a keeper with a clean sheet and 5 saves!

      Smash says:

Does seem to be a bit of a witch hunt against Salah though

      • Kralin says:

I haven’t the time or inclination to unravel all that but the big chances missed may play its part in his losing BPS. The fact he usually puts a big chance or two away doen’t seem to balance things. Personally I’m more than happy with 24 points for my captain.

But VVD has always been a BPS magnet, goals notwithstanding, so I suppose a sober analysis of what he does to get the points would stand those tearing hair out in frustration good stead.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Salah was dispossessed 11 times yesterday, that’s a lot of negative BPS points right there, Van Dijk was dispossessed 0 times!

        • Smash says:

I don’t disagree with VVD getting three. With Salah though it’s every week this is not the same with other players. He needs two returns just to be in the mix. If Hazardscores that’s pretty much 3 bonus

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Hazard gets dispossessed a lot less and shoots less off target generally, plus he creates more big chances I reckon… It’s funny, Salah not getting bonus was one of the reasons I sold him smile

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Liverpool keeping many cleanies isn’t good for Salah either, if Wolves scores then I imagine Salah would have gotten all 3 bonus…
