Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

*terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Management reserve the right to review membership of this league on an ongoing basis. If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

        Perreya would only get me 6.2m.

        Wanted him out a while but weirdly he’s actually done alright for me recently – 22 points in 3 weeks haha

        • What’s his fixtures like? That’s a decent return. If not great, then ur suggestion below including Ings works. Ings has 2 nasty fixtures. But it’s only 2. The others they can be competitive in.

    • Maybe just do Wilson to Rashford?

      • 0.3 short of that!
        I had Wilson from pretty early on so only get 6.5m for him

        • Ah, that’s a bugger. How about Jimenez, who’ll be against a leaky Fulham defence?

        • Could do Perreya and Wilson to Martial and Ings?

          Ings fixtures aren’t great though

        • Sterling and Perreya to Sané and Pogba ooo….

        • Yeah, that could be good. Wilson on the bench on a 4-4-2, I presume?

        • Nah hojbjerg on the bench still and Wilson would play. Tbh I think Wilson can still score against the big teams (he did earlier in the year)

        • You’d have a midfield of Anderson, Sane, Pogba and Richarlison wouldn’t you? I wouldn’t start Wilson over any of them this gameweek.

        • Yep that’s right swirly! Swear it said 3-5-2 it must be Christmas getting to me.
          Don’t think I’d lose much with Sané vs sterling?

        • I’m looking at bringing in Salah soon, so Sterling to Sane is definitely something I’m considering. Sane has a form of 7.3, whilst Sterling is 5.8 – and he’s almost £2m cheaper!

  2. What’s the view on Richarlison? Fixtures improving I think but are there better options such as Martial or Anderson?

    • I’m keeping hold but would be more tempted to bring in Martial or Anderson if I didn’t have him.

  4. Hi all. Hope your gameweek was better than mine. Son saved me somewhat!

    2FT, £0.1m itb.

    Thinking Rashford for injured Chic, and Lovren for Bellerin. I’d prefer Martial or Pogba, but think that’d involve a hit.

    Thoughts?

    • Sounds good AT.

    • Makes perfect sense to.me. means you can have a back three of Lovren, Doherty and Young. I think City will be all guns blazing against Leicester to try to make up for lost time, so having both Sane and Sterling could be very lucrative.

    • I think I’d captain Kane. Not start Schindler. Prioritise injured players (no idea how bad the Chic is, but maybe wait on that). Bellerin maybe a higher priority to move on. May be worth thinking about Liverpool defenders. Or Digne.

        I’d have to move tonight to make Rashford and Lovren. Hamstring doesn’t sound good though, but I would be pretty annoyed if he started given the hammers’ good fixtures!

    • Defo needs some players from the top of the league team at the moment! 😉 Bobbyson and Salah, to name a few 🙂

        • Swirly I’ve been picking the wrong captain for weeks lol. Need to stop overthinking and enjoy it

        • You and me both, pal. We can only go by what we think is the most likely outcome. No one could have predicted Palace would beat City 3-2 with Sterling blanking and then Spurs going on to do what they did. I know I wasn’t expecting Foster to smash it against West Ham either!

    • I wouldn’t really say so, no.

      • Thanks swirly. What do u think of the idea of Shaw?

        Have Vertonghen and Dunk and given the potential of rotation, seems a good idea to bring in a defender.

        • Doherty, Wan B and Robbo to start this week, I presume. So, you don’t necessarily need a player who has a good fixture this week but does next gameweek onwards who you can rotate with or can step in should any of those three not start. How about Holebas or one of the Leicester defenders who have a good match next gameweek?

        • Isn’t there the possibility of say Robertson being rotated this gw?

        • There is that risk, but I personally wouldn’t want to also have a player with a favourable fixture on the bench because it’d be just my luck I’d play the wrong one out of the two!

    • Absolutely not, and I have Young. To be honest, I’m waiting for Young to get benched 😆
