Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 18 from all at FF247!

Final nightshift before I stop for Christmas week off smile

Any night owls care to tell me if my side looks OK? 1FT and 0.1mln in the purse.

    Thank you.

Hey Gallant, looks good. I guess, as with most, it’s about who’s going to start. You’ve got good coverage on your bench in case the likes of Sané, Kane or Aubameyang get a rest. I have a feeling Wan B. will be amongst the bonus points this week.

      Enjoy your Christmas week off!

      • Shrizzine says:

If you’re still up, would you want:

        Sané and Firmino

        Or

        Lingard and Kane

        ?????

        • Shrizzine,

Thank you for the reply and a happy festive period to you.

I heard good things in match reports about AWB in the win at City (I’ve yet to see the highlights personally) so I’m encouraged by that and the fixture they have.

On your question, I think I would go the Lingard/Kane route. I think Kane provides a realistic, practically rotation-free captaincy option most weeks until the end of February. Firmino is a brilliant player but I don’t think he proved the type of FPL returns for his £9.2mln outlay when you can get players of lesser price who have scored and assisted more – Wilson, King, Murray, Jimenez, Ings etc.

Lingard could be worth a period of three games to see what OGS does with him and if it doesn’t work out, then you can have a look and see what else is about but he has three in four now so could be a shrewd move short-term.

+1 on this, could have both of them myself come Boxing Day.

Team looks good to roll the transfer this week.

Holding out on the Salah front or is there a plan in place for him?

Auba captain is a bold shout – any chance he doesn’t start with the Pool game 3 days later (what i’m praying for as a non-owner anyway 😉 )

Will go round adding my 2 cents to the queries while everybody else is asleep, but for when you early birds are up and about for your last minute Christmas shopping, thoughts on my move(s) for Boxing day would be greatly appreciated.

2 FT, £1m itb, hovering around 500k and 125 points behind my paid ML leader:

    a) Laporte -> one of Digne/TAA/VVD/Trippier/Alderweireld/Young. Would currently lean towards Trippier/Young (great attacking potential, great fixtures, good differentials), with other plans for TAA whens he’s definitely fit. Digne gives extra cash for elsewhere though.

    b) Laporte + Westwood -> Wan Bissaka + Lingard, provides strength on the bench for Christmas rotation though selection headaches could be draining.

    c) Anything else look good?

    Thanks all!

      • Knowing how much you like a strong back five I would go VVD personally to take advantage of that strong looking Liverpool defence.

I don’t think you need Lingard there at least for now as Mitrovic has two home games in which he could score. I don’t see who you would bench if you brought Lingard in.

Camarasa with a goal and assist in his last two – I would bump up to first on your bench (he plays 90 minutes whereas Kamara isn’t guaranteed that and you don’t want 1 point from the bench if you need it) – and you would be set. Roll a transfer.

I think TAA suits your style if fit. Shaw could be good as well. VVD is obviously a decent option just more expensive. Lovren and Digne are good there’s loads of options

Hello everyone and Merry End of Year festivities (the word Xmas would be too exclusive, and I don’t want to do that to our fellow FPL bods from all round the planet!) – and a thought for our Indonesian friends – I really hope you’re okay.

Was cruising along nicely at 30 for 9 (like an Australian cricket team score!) until last 2, Kane and Son (Harry shall now be known as ‘Steptoe’!) had the crazy idea of adding 36 points to this legendary all-time low! This got me back to average. Bah humbug!
Anyway, what to do for GW 19? Maybe just an enabling move of Success to Kamara, to add 0.2m to my bank for future purchases.

Speak to y’all real soon! smile AJW

By the way, I hope it doesn’t sound as if I’m minimizing the catastrophe in Indonesia – it really is terrible news for this resilient country that has suffered so much disaster this year.

      Kralin says:

Excellent news that Kane and Son put an end to your bad run. Not bad players to have at all over the Xmas period. Enabling move fine especially if you can take 2FT into the following week.

    1FT 0.0m

    I am thinking B.Silva – Martial

    Any other ideas?

    Have a Happy Christmas everyone!
