Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18.
Remember back when a midweek fixture was an exciting rarity? It is hardly an uncommon occurrence these days and one to which we shall be treated to quite a few more times before the season is up. There are in fact three of these in the next five GW’s and even one of those (DGW19) straddles a midweek.
As for this one it begins on Tuesday at 6pm as Sheffield and Newcaste unite to see who can score the least goals. Then at 8.15pm Burnley host half the games captain in the shape of Bruno. At the same time Wolves welcome Everton.
Wednesday begins at 6pm with the other halves captain (KdB) hosting Brighton. Spurs (now) welcome a reluctant Fulham at 8.15pm.
Arsenal and Palace see us out on Thursday at 8pm.
And don’t forget that once the above GW ends on Thursday evening the next one begins on Saturday and that one is a double so get your planning sorted early doors!

Looking at GW19, and I have a problem. A -4 lets me move Son and DCL to Maddison/Soucek and Vardy, but a -8, if I trade Salah to KDB, gives me Grealish instead of Maddison/Soucek. I’m tempted, as I like the City games, KDB would be captain, and I do want KDB and Grealish for their ppd games. I will also have 11 DGWers, plus Kane.
Still, I’ve been disciplined about my hits, for the first time in a decade, and I’ve got a 25 point lead in my mini-league. Yes, Salah could light it up, but today’s Athletic has some pretty discouraging analysis on the Reds. Any advice appreciated.
Congratulations on your hit discipline. We work so hard for these points, and there are very few total points between a good OR and a bad OR, so I’m always surprised when people are seemingly happy to throw them away willy nilly.
KI, go with your gut instinct on this one – many will be hitting this week so a -4 is not likely to hurt you and could well reap dividends.
Keep in mund Grealish is on 4 yellows. Even if he’s fit, there is the risk of him getting a yellow and missing the prime second Newcastle match. Just my 2 cents
Can’t you be creative and contrive a team with both KdB and Salah?
Damned good show with the hits. Because of the ongoing situation I’ve needed to take a couple fo hits this season. And it’s really hurt me to do so.

DCL & JWP out, probably Wilson or Watkins (You already have Grealish though) & Maddison in…If you do not want the hit, then any of the above…Personally I’d take out DCL…injured, hasn’t been banging them on recently either…
Simms, if deemed fit, I’d get Antonio in for DCL.
I like the Antonio pick, just concerned about his minutes
Can you reach Vardy if you sell DCL & JWP?
only leaves me with 5m for a mid, would just be a bench filler at that price

What a wonderful week…Took a 8 point hit to bring in Wilson for Che and Tierney for Konsa… After doing Brewster, Gundo and DCL, Romeu out……And end up with glorious 26 points from 10…Cap Bruno thanks, Sterling wow mannn and the rest (beside Kane & Stones the only saving graces) thank you so much….Can’t find the words I have in my mind right now for you…

Hey guys. Hope everyone came out of BGW 18 relatively unscathed.
Planning to do Kane, Son and Tierney for Antonio, Salah and Chilwell/Robbo
Gives me 13 DGW players plus Saka and Bamford for a BB.
Would like your advice regarding the the best long term striker- defender combo for 14.2 million
Chilwell gives me 8.1m for a striker. Robbo gives me 6.8 for a striker.
Advice please ?
Sounds good – I’ll end up with 9 DGWers & 7 SGWers – which is obviously less than previously planned, so my BB is in doubt (but maybe, just maybe…
). Yours however, looks like a good bet! Good luck! 😉
I’d go for Antonio, he’s the best bet at that price range, as there seem to be no other strikers at 8.1 or less who suit, or who have the DGW. I’d probably opt for Robbo in DEF. Cheers!
