We’ve written and re-written this about four times now this week. Which, quite frankly, is about three times more than we wanted to. We think that the following is about to happen. But in all honesty if it doesn’t, or if it changes again, please feel free to make up your own narrative and pretend that’s what we bothered to write instead because there will be no 5th!
We won’t list the lot (a picture is worth a 1000 words etc) but in short we begin with Wolves vs West Brom at Saturday lunchtime, and then we have 4 more games later on that day, 3 on Sunday, 1 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and we eventually conclude a truly long double game-week, over 7 days after it began, on the following Saturday evening at 8pm with Aston Villa v Newcastle. If Villa can be bothered to turn up. 15 or so games in total which means that 11 teams get to play twice. In theory.

Robertson and Taa have stopped assisting is probably why Liverpool are struggling

Teams have worked out a way of blunting the attack, stopping the full backs. They are/were so influential in how they attacked.
I think players off form as well added to probably not the same focus as previous years.

Usually Both of there full backs usually get 25 to 30 assists combined in a season don’t think there in double figures yet

I agree with the FB comments but also don’t underestimate what the loss of VVD has done. Yes, he was supreme defensively and basically covered for the lot, but also not having his ability to calmly dictate play from the back, both with and without the ball, is sorely lacking and missed now.
Bit of a combo of a lot of things.

Another part of the combo is the lack of an established attacking mid to link Thiago+ to the front 3 (as well as score). Where is Philippe Coutinho when you need him?

Going back to this, I’ve been thinking about it today and reckon I’ve worked it out.
Liverpool’s form completely deteriorated when the city moved from tier 2 to tier 4. The squad needs some sort of hypnosis to con them into thinking – whilst out on the pitch – that they’re back in tier 2.

I got the three big mids for the DGW for -4, and Harry, with his single game, outscores them all. Sigh. Stiil, great defenders, and a 90+ gw.
Dump one of KDB or Salah for Grealish and a forward to replace D-R. I can reach Vardy for Salah, someone cheaper for KDB (Antonio?).
Any comments appreciated.

Well, Salah has been a disappointment all right. And if KDB is injured, then I think he needs to go out as well. A 11+ player in the bench for like 3-4 weeks is criminal. Now that KDB is out, personally I think Sterling is a great option. He probably will be on Pens, will have to be the main man in attack, and plays up top mostly. Not too keen on Grealish either to be honest. Personally think Maddison is a great buy at the moment.

Wait on the KdB news and take it from there. Your side seems sensibly set up. If KdB is injured I may make an arse-covering move like getting Son in. I’d look at Antonio or Watkins if going cheap up front.

Highly unlikely. It would seem perverse to do that when a DGW has just finished. Are you planning to play yours? What’s the context: do you play the game over the season with one side or do you assemble a side each week?
Or perhaps – correct me if I’m wrong – you think it would be amusing.

The advice that I have received from here has got me to that point.

Little Red, the KdB injury opens up an easy route to Kane for those that don’t own him. I’ll be doing it and recommend others to.
He has doubles waiting for him and is the least rotatable premium player out there.
Also, he has nearly 150pts at the half way point of the season.

Very good thinking. Kane always plays. My initial thoughts – and has it actually been confirmed KdB is out?* – were KdB to Son, just cover myself as I’ve been getting away with non-Spurs ownership a bit.
But KdB – Gundogan then one of the cheapo strikers to Kane is a reassuringly sane plan. And covers one’s arse on the Spurs’ front.
Quite like the KdB – Gundo first up and save Kane until the week after.
* seems like he is – for a while

Afternoon all,
Would appreciate some advice, what should I do here?
Thinking a straight swap KDB >> Sterling, so I can have some City attack for their good fixtures. Gundogan is an option but I’m not sure he can keep up his scoring run, feel like I may have missed that train.
Unfortunately 0.2 short of being able to do KDB >> Gundogan and Brewster >> Kane
I’m also seriously considering swapping KDB for Auba, have a gut feeling he’s going to start hauling now 😎

Sterling and abu are both good calls. Arsenal seem to be on a good run now and abu is only in 7.1% of teams. Lots of the ghost teams too.

What are your guys thoughts on my plans. Probably going to do kdb to son. That would allow me over the next couple of gws to maybe downgrade robbo for stones and frees up funds to bring in kane. Tempted with gundo for kdb but always a bench risk and that would stop me going triple city defense which I am kinda tempted with

Don’t think you would have many criticise you for bringing in Son.
Although the football Gundogan is playing just now – and with KDB out – I don’t see him missing too much gametime. He’s a huge player.
