Some games may occur, don’t ask us which…

We’ve written and re-written this about four times now this week. Which, quite frankly, is about three times more than we wanted to. We think that the following is about to happen. But in all honesty if it doesn’t, or if it changes again, please feel free to make up your own narrative and pretend that’s what we bothered to write instead because there will be no 5th!

We won’t list the lot (a picture is worth a 1000 words etc) but in short we begin with Wolves vs West Brom at Saturday lunchtime, and then we have 4 more games later on that day, 3 on Sunday, 1 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and we eventually conclude a truly long double game-week, over 7 days after it began, on the following Saturday evening at 8pm with Aston Villa v Newcastle. If Villa can be bothered to turn up. 15 or so games in total which means that 11 teams get to play twice. In theory.

  1. Anyone have kdb to pogba in their thoughts?

    • Not for me but he’s playing well. Generally he’s too deep for my liking but he sometimes plays off the left

    • Not really – maybe if Bruno wasn’t around (but even then Rashford would be next off the rank for me).

      Nice price though.

    How is everyone? Had a decent GW19 so far, have Martinez to go and Justin to come in from bench.

    What’s everyone planning to do for GW20?

    I need to move on vardy and KDB, I Am tempted to go with Maddison tbh or should go with son and Kane?

    • Kane and Son.

    • Maddison and Kane good moves

    • Kane and Son by all means.

    • Maddison – or Barnes – don’t seem the worst punts to me. They don’t have the worst run of games and you’d not be sweating over the starting line-up each GW. But maybe start with one of the cheap City mids.

    • Kane and Rashford also an option.

  3. Anyone considering tripling up on City defenders? Dias, Cancelo, Stones? WBA, Sheffield United, and Burnley in their next three, considering it myself.

    • Problem is fixtures go off after that and there’s always a danger games get called off. I think having 2 is a good plan though.

      • Very good point (about the risk of games being called off).

    • Bees, Cancelo for me. He seems to be involved in everything.

    • I have Stones and Cancelo

    • Dias for me as seems more nailed. If Walker is injured though Cancelo becomes a better option. I’d probably still rank them Dias, Cancelo, Stones. I have Dias and Stones and they have served me well

    • Stones and Dias have served me very well; at the time I got Stones for budget reasons and I brought Dias in later because he seemed the more nailed (between him and Cancelo).

  5. Any thoughts for KDB replacement? I do already have Grealish/Son/Salah/Bruno… Have been thinking about Foden or Gundogan cause then I could do Antonio or Bamford to Kane next week…

    • Zed, you have the exact dosh to do KDB↔Gundo and Brewster↔Kane right now. Do not delay 😉

    • I also have Grealish/Son/Fernandes and I’m wondering the same.
      I don’t have Salah but it might not be the ideal target right now given form + fixtures?
      I was thinking Sterling? Althought not completely convinced, but I’m not sure what else to do.

      • Sterling could work, but I don’t trust him now he’s form has been rubbish and that missed pen can’t help his confidence… Plus Foden or Gundo let’s me get Kane as well which I can’t do with Sterling

      • With Salah I’d want to have some sort of plan to get him in if needed, rather than prioritise. Can certainly wait until after the Spurs’ game.

    • Foden or Gündogan are top of my wanted list. To replace KdB. Foden marginal favourite. But will ponder. Maybe KdB not being there will have an impact; I’m not sure. I don’t really want to wait to find out.

      I have pondered the Leicester mids but they are not as appealing (though not unappealing).

  6. Hi guys, hope you’re having a good gw. Taking out Son and Kane for Salah and Vardy for a hit was A terrible move. Not to mention Vardy being injured now but somehow managed to pull through with 112 pts at moment. For gw20, have just enough for KDB & Vardy out for Sterling & Kane (-4). Should I go for it?

    • Vardy to Kane yes, definitely.

      The KdB move to Sterling, perhaps. I think that Foden or Gündogan may well end up with a similar points’ total at the end of this little run of games. So maybe think about one of them instead.

      • Thanks Kralin. Have just enough funds to do both moves actually so will have to decide pretty soon if I really want Sterling. If I go with Foden I think I could hold off the Kane move to gw21 and maybe play Smith Rowe in the mean time

        • That sounds fine. Arsenal have been quietly ticking along. I’m not going to take a hit to get Kane this GW – he can wait until 21. Hopefully any points he gets will be covered / surpassed by others in my team. And I’d be unlikely to captain him this GW.
