Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…
Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.
3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.
The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.
Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!
We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.
The games in full…

Hi guys, do you think pukki, Barnes and Ceballas in for Wilson, Perez and Greenwood is worth a -4
Or could do the Wilson and Perez to pukki and martial
I could do with waiting for tomorrow and see how martial plays but with both these I’m only left with 0.2 and have a feeling that might not be enough by tomorrow night xx
Ack posted the response on the next page. Here you go… Again… : ‘I personally prefer the second move… But hey… Anything can happen. I took a hit this gameweek and came out +10 positive.’
To me, it seems like you’re chasing points… Perez remains a good pick and has a couple of good fixtures coming up. Barnes seems like a huge reach
Holy crap. I just saw Kuns response to being subbed. Right in Peps face. There is no way Pep should let him start the next game. Absolutely crazy and disrespectful.
When Jesus scored later on it looked like they was about to kiss. And maybe even more than that. One of them might be pregnant….
I personally prefer the second move… But hey… Anything can happen. I took a hit this gameweek and came out +10 positive.
Wrong page. Was meant for Joanne.
Sighs. I see I’m doing the monologue thing again, here. Maybe it’s a sign I should leave… :dash:
Ha ha thanks Raz x
Think I’ve decided to do Wilson/Fraser/Perez –> Pukki/KDB/Ceballos now…. I was a bit concerned with Ceballos, but so I read about him and now I think he’s great (just read this and you’ll agree https://www.squawka.com/en/features/ceballos-arsenal-cazorla-mark-ii-liverpool-midfield-problem :bop: )… He’s also rising in price soon, the three most bought players this GW right now, Pukki, Ceballos, De Bruyne… What could go wrong? 😆
Think I’m going to do the same Zed.
My only thought is that I would also like Kane… if I dropped a Liverpool defender and did Salah to Mane I could do it. But is it too early to wildcard hmm
I don’t fancy Kane, think he’s a bit overpriced, I’m not doing Salah –> Mane, and I think KDB might actually outscore Kane so he’s a big hitter, would have three big hitters in Sterling/Salah/KDB….
Sounds good! Pretty formidable trio for sure.
Good luck with that. I like it now that we’re at GW3 as sides are going to start diverging.
I’m looking for a strict no-hit Wilson and Fraser to 6m holding striker (until the wildcard) and KdB.
I’ll take a gander at Ceballos after their Spurs’ game (probably). Nice price.
That’s what I was looking at earlier, but then there was absolutely no 6m holding striker that I like, Adams perhaps, but I’m Finnish so I’m obliged to get Pukki or they will banish me to Sweden… And I’m starting to like this punt on Ceballos
This is totally provisional but I’m thinking of Chic or Ings. But, once I’ve actually bothered to do some research I may have to peddle backwards on that. It’s all about KdB though really, for me (as I’m sure it is for you).
Yes it is! Ings, by the way, got the luckiest of goals, can’t get more lucky than that, and he missed an absolute sitter a bit later, he should have given us a point… But read into that what you will, I think (and the Saints forum agrees) Adams has been a lot better than Ings thus far (only two games of course)
Being half Norwegian I can concur; you do not want to be banished to Sweden.
Thanks, Zed. It is utterly provisional at the moment and I may end up just swapping Fraser for Martial (or moving for my old chum the Pog) and keeping Wilson, etc.
I tend to get into deep transfer mode towards the end of the week.
I’m buying Pukki then, I don’t want to be banished to Sweden!
Zed look at my comment, I’ve just suggested these moves without even reading your post I promise.
Just commented on your post Yeah, think those are good moves, I want KDB but I don’t want to lose Robbo/TAA just yet, Perez didn’t look that good tonight, and Ceballos might become this season’s Fraser, I’m happy to take that punt! All three should rise in price this week too! :good:
Yeah I’ve just done those moves. Don’t like going so early really but hopefully it’s ok. Three players coming in have looked good while the other three needed replacing
Yeah, let’s just hope Digne will be fine (and Jota doesn’t get injured tomorrow)…
I suppose as Zed sez, you can always wildcard if there are a spate of bizarre training ground injuries to blight your squad.
Hopefully it won’t come to that.
If only Adrian hadn’t given away that stupid goal. The week would be looking a lot rosier.
Indeed… Stupid Adrián, I’m fairly confident though that when Alisson comes back (and pray to god that happens swiftly) the Liverpool defense will be solid again… It’s just been two weeks now, I still think Robbo/TAA can be worth 7.0m
I’m concerned by this higher line that the Liverpool defence is trying to hold.
Oh, I’m utterly chilled about it all and in some ways am happy to see people piling into Norwich and Sheffield United assets (which seems more understandable to me from a TV perspective). I shall limp into the first international break and assess properly then.
Hi all. Hope no one else left Lungstram on the bench. Quick question are there any other sites similar to FPL discovery? In other words how do we know how well we are doing each game week?
Check the gameweek rank at FPL?
This one is very brill and very accurate.
Lundstram’s first on my bench :slaphead: – I’m hoping for a Jota no-show tomorrow night! No idea about FPL discovery :unknw:
Had him first on my bench and had Barkley in as a starter. Was sweating bullets until Chelsea made their final transfer
I like this site https://www.livefpl.net/rank
Thanks gentlemen
He’s second on my bench, so I lose the 14pts. I did consider fielding him and benching Laporte, but chickened out. Wish I’d gone with my gut on that one now :slaphead:
Bad luck – for the second week running, thinking about it. The Substitution Swindle.
Any ideas what to do with the 2 wasters in midfield
Sterling and Salah? I’d keep for one more week at least.
Perez or Berkeley looking for ideas to replace
Get Ceballos in.
Sorry, I was being facetious.
Presumably you’re looking at >1 match ahead.
I was having a quick scan earlier and got pretty stuck. The Southampton mids – sorry if this sounds a bit underwhelming – may be worth a look. McGinn may work as an enabler. I’m thinking of giving Perez another week as he comes up against the mighty Lundstram. Who’ll then wipe the floor with him.
Ceballos may be ok but has Liverpool and Spurs next.
I’d go to McGinn and Lanzini, personally
