Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…

Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.

3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.

The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.

Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!

We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.

The games in full…

  1. Just a random question but are people still thinking a Pool defender is a must or would it be worth freeing up funds for elsewhere at least until Alisson comes back and if you already have 3 premium defenders?

    • I’m likely to give TAA and Robbo another week. The latter came very close to scoring yesterday. Home games v Arsenal tend to be open flowing affairs and I can see a few chances coming to / being created by Liverpool defenders. Also, I have other, more important, fish to fry.

    • I’m happy sticking with one. If I had two I would shift one out.

    • Robbo is in mine, along with AWB, Digne and Zinchenko. I’m looking to get KDB and likely Ceballos but downgrading one of the other defenders just doesn’t raise the funds.

  2. Any ideas on what to do?

I want KDB possibly but there’s just no way I see that happening without a hit

    • The only way I can see for you to do it would be Coleman to a £4.0 and upgrade Siggy

  3. Evening all,
I want to take a -4pts to get KDB in and wanted ideas on how to do so? I am currently thinking:
    Fraser>KDB + Perez>Ceballos
Didn’t see Chelsea v Leicester today but I don’t think Perez set the world on fire. I know Digne is yellow flagged but from what I’ve heard he should be okay. I know it’s risky to move early but I don’t want to lose £0.1 on Fraser
    Cheers

  4. Barkley to Ceballos or Mount for -4!

  5. So I missed the football today. What’s the consensus on Leicester & Perez?

    • Think Perez wasn’t really gelled with his teammates just yet… Maddison looked miles better for instance, he has a good understanding with Vardy, Tielemans was more involved too, think Perez was a bit out of sorts, he looked like he had just switched to a new team (which is very surprising obviously 😆 )

    • I don’t think he was as bad was people appear to think he was. Would have had an assist if Maddison had finished better. I’m thinking of holding until GW5.

      • The ball just bounced of his body, can’t remember which part, perhaps it was his leg, but still makes no difference, would have been very lucky, he didn’t actually create that pass… Other than that he wasn’t threatening at all, and tellingly he was subbed too

    • Cheers lads. I have 2 FTs and I go away for a week on Wednesday so ideally I need to sort out my transfers before I go.

    • Perez was stuck on the right. Did not look interested or likely to do anything. Was very disappointing

    • Underwhelming, in a word. Their highest points’ scorer so far is Pereira.

I have to decide whether to give Perez another week and hope that he scrounges something v Sheffield United, or just cut the strings for now and come back later, maybe. At the moment I may hold him (because to ditch = -4 for me) and alternatives are not leaping out (though I could be persuaded otherwise).

  6. Evening all. 2ft and 0.5m in the bank
    What do people think
