Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22. Possibly too much FPL followed quickly by not enough, it’s feast or famine season is Christmas and early January. After a small break to recharge our batteries we are back this weekend to either try and extend on a successful festive period of points, or repair the damage! Whichever one it is we have a weekend of fun ahead beginning with a bumper Saturday program of seven games…
West Ham and Arsenal kick us off at lunchtime with both sets of fans probably wondering which version of their respective Jekyll and Hyde teams will show up. The five 3pm games are a mis-mash of mid-table much of a muchness. With the exception of Liverpool, who will probably steamroller Brighton. Talking of Jekyll and Hyde, Hazard gets a go at one of his favourite fixtures in the evening game as Chelsea host Newcastle. Depending on which version of Chelsea show up, probably one without a real striker….
Talking of Jekyll and Hyde… Everton and Bournemouth get Sunday under way in the early one, before the real action begins later with the much anticipated clash between Poch-present and Poch-future… perhaps. Let’s see what Ole has to say about that though.
Man City then host Wolves on Monday to see the game-week out.
The games in full…

Hope everyone had a good GW!
Should I go ahead with Mitrovic > Rashford and Laporte > TAA? Would ideally want to wait until after tomorrow’s game but due to Rashfords price rising tonight I have to do my moves before then.
I would. I’ve just brought him in myself.
Thanks, just not sure if I should go for TAA or Digne since I’m never too keen to double up on any team’s defence
TAA is the better long-term choice as he has easier fixtures, but Digne has been scoring very well recently and so his value will increase faster.
if there are any hammers fan around, is nasri nailed to start every game now and snodgrass forever benched?
Not sure on every game. Possibly at the moment, especially with it looking like Arnie going. Nasri looked good against Arsenal. Noble might not start every game so Nasri starting is a good possibility. I would go with it. He is a good punt.
cheers hammefan.
Kane ‘injury’ is a real headache. Had him down as a potential captain the next 3 weeks. It’s like Richarlison earlier in the season, why does this never happen before the terrible fixtures!?
Evening folks, now i’m not one to jump in early but thoughts on these moves now. Have 2 fts so Kane/Jimenez to Kun/Rashford but i do like Jimenez to be fair. OR Kane/Kamara/a mid to Kun/Rashford/a cheap mid bench warmer ? This 2nd option needs the 3rd transfer for funds.
1st option for me but I’d definately hold until theres more news on Kane and until after City play tomorrow.
Does anyone know how long Deeney might be banned for, and when it’ll start?
Just dawned on me that all 3 strikers might be out next GW
It’ll be a game or two starting this weekend. Appeal deadline is Tuesday at 5pm I think. Probably be 2 given what they gave Austin last week.
Deeney has until 6pm on Tuesday to appeal. I don’t know how long he will be banned for but I imagine it will be 2 or 3. Assuming he is banned it is likely to come into effect straight away meaning he misses out next week.
Thanks both. If he appeals, do you think it might delay the ban beyond this GW?
He will likely be punted after this week either way but would be keen to keep him for the Burnley game if he’s available.
Doubt it. They’ve got 3 days for a hearing if he appeals. I doubt he’ll appeal anyway, he said what he meant and meant what he said. Wha is there to ‘explain’…
No. Appeals rarely make any difference. More often than not, a charge leads to a ban.
Good question, EBC. I did some internet research and found that there aren’t many such cases but last year Arsene Wenger was banned for 3 matches for accusing referees of bias (and refusing to apologise). Also back in 2002 Patrick Vieira got a 2-match ban for his ahem “candid” description of Andy D’Urso:
https://www.google.be/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2002/oct/25/newsstory.sport5
My guess is a 2-match ban, one of which would presumably be the FA Cup tie. Not sure when it’ll start – hopefully after Burnley (h) in GW23 because for FPL he’d probably be benched anyway for Spurs (a) in GW24.
* I was looking specifically at insults to referees
It’ll be immediate unless he somehow delays a hearing until next week.
He will put on a stone during that suspension.
Hey all
Best midfielder for 7.9 as a son replacement?
Currently thinking B Silva, Anderson, richarlison or siggy.
Any thoughts ?
Cheers
Still think ricardlison can get good points over the next few game weeks. Can you do Kane to augero and son to sane?
I probably can.
Not sure about losing kane though.
Out of those I probably grab Felipe. Richy was close today and Siggy was meh, one game doesn’t make a season and shouldn’t completely impact your decision, but they haven’t been very impressive to me. Their fixtures are still good though, so I will probably hold on to Richie for now. Looking at the stats for the 4 Felipe leads most that we care about. Silva be great and I know people will argue that his minutes are safe, I just don’t think they are. With KdB back I really do think his minutes are troublesome and that is the reason I won’t consider him, but if you feel sure about his game time going forward that could be a real nice pick up considering how much City can score.
Could go Pedro to free up funds for an upgrade elsewhere
