Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22. Possibly too much FPL followed quickly by not enough, it’s feast or famine season is Christmas and early January. After a small break to recharge our batteries we are back this weekend to either try and extend on a successful festive period of points, or repair the damage! Whichever one it is we have a weekend of fun ahead beginning with a bumper Saturday program of seven games…

West Ham and Arsenal kick us off at lunchtime with both sets of fans probably wondering which version of their respective Jekyll and Hyde teams will show up. The five 3pm games are a mis-mash of mid-table much of a muchness. With the exception of Liverpool, who will probably steamroller Brighton. Talking of Jekyll and Hyde, Hazard gets a go at one of his favourite fixtures in the evening game as Chelsea host Newcastle. Depending on which version of Chelsea show up, probably one without a real striker….

Talking of Jekyll and Hyde… Everton and Bournemouth get Sunday under way in the early one, before the real action begins later with the much anticipated clash between Poch-present and Poch-future… perhaps. Let’s see what Ole has to say about that though.

Man City then host Wolves on Monday to see the game-week out.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 22 from all at FF247!

I can afford up to £10.0 on a Son replacement. Should I go with Sane? Pogba? Or somebody else?

My transfer plan for this week was to get Rashford and Sterling in for Aubameyang and Richarlison. But that would leave me with only 0.1 to spare. With Rashford price going up and Aubameyang falling. Should I hit the transfer button? I also have Kane in my team so worried about his injury. Any suggestions for me?

Oh man, that’s tough. Any chance you can absorb a price drop on Auba and not lose actual sale value? Although judging by all the transfers in on Rashford that might not matter as he might go up in another day or two again. I am really not sure what to tell you, I think I would wait it out until you hear about Kane. In the end it could be him that has to go and missing a couple of price changes might not matter at all as his sale would really make it easy for your moves.

I’d wait on news of Kane as Mito says. If you find you’re a bit short then Sane is equally as good as Sterling and a fair bit cheaper

      • I was going to recommend Sane as a fall back also, but I am a touch worried about the reappearance of Mendy getting closer. Not sure if that means that Sane is back to having unreliable minutes.

        • inittowinit says:

          Mito: Genuine question here…

What did Pep do at Barca, in terms of team selection, when Madrid were threatening his dominance? Did he continue to faff about or did he just pick his best XI?

That’s if you can remember, or indeed noticed. Be interesting to know though, as his first choice XI would surely include a front line of Sane-Kun-Sterling.

        • He will rotate, one of the seasons we were right on their arse, think they finished 3-4 points ahead he basically changed the team every game, if not mistaken there was something out there about him changing his starting xi for something like 30 straight games. He also did it in the other seasons. I think when CL starts up it is really going to get hard if all his players are fit.

          Thank you, good to know.

@GKW, Watford’s young Colombian who plays for Huesca has the potential to fetch the Hornets a nice transfer fee when they sell him, think that was good business when they bought him.

      gkw says:

Cucho, right? Thanks for the heads-up, Mito – I wasn’t keeping tabs on him. Yes he’s doing nicely. I don’t know if he’ll be sold, because Watford (like so many other clubs!) need more firepower up front.

      • Yeah Cucho, He is expected to make the Colombian national team for the upcoming Copa America this year, so that should increase his value. Which might make selling him more tempting. I would hold him, he needs to be get a big stronger and mature a little more. He gets pushed off the ball a bit too easy still for my taste, but he has the body type of Kun so he will learn how to use his bowling ball body to hold off strong CBs. In Colombia they have real high hopes for him and the hope is that he will the #9 of the national team possibly coming as soon as this summer, but at very least by next summer.

Don’t drink and confirm transfers. That’s the rule i broke last night. Think the team turned out ok, but I’m not so sure it was worth the -8…. But what’s done is done. Did kamara, fraser and alonso out for rashford, digne and westwood. Is this an ok squad for the upcoming gameweeks?

      gkw says:

It could be a lot worse, but monitor Kane’s injury. Rather than lose the 8 points, it may be worth using your WC and making a few more changes.

    • 126.2

      @Allan, I did a -4 last night, I blame being sober for the 3 transfers. 😉

      • Rosco says:

Who did you bring in mate? Guessing Rashford and Pogba were two of the three? Had Kane not picked up a knock I’d have likely brought in Rashford for Wilson last night to avoid the rises but I’ll wait it out now and see if it may be Kane leaving. If I do that It’ll be tempting to not take a -4 with all that spare cash ITB!

        • I sold Wilson, Martial and Kane for Kun, Pogba and Rashford. I had exact money so I took the gamble Kun would make it through tonight and that Kane is possibly/hopefully out.

        • Rosco says:

Good moves, I binned Martial myself last week, think if Wilson and Kane are both out I may take a hit myself, guess Kun would keep it to a -4 or I might just ride it out as my hits never seem to pan out!

        • Those seem like the moves right now, next week everyone will be selling two of them. 😉

Every time I think I am close to having the team I want I see 3 more moves I should make.

        • Kop Warrior says:

Mito, any concerns about Kun’s away form?

        • Rosco says:

Yup I know that feeling! Thought my defence was set for the foreseeable, now Digne is giving me ‘buy me’ eyes but I have bigger fish to fry as per usual. I almost took a -4 to ditch Fab for Guaita …this is why I shouldn’t take hits!

        • It’s very likely that we will be having another option upfront very soon (smtng I mentioned 2wks ago).

BREAKING: Higuain has officially asked to leave Milan in order to join Chelsea.
The deal now depends on Chelsea director Granovskaia, Juventus and Milan finding a replacement for Gonzalo. [Sky’s @angelomangiante]

Additional info: Higuain wants the move ; Milan can’t really stop him as it is Juve who is involved in the decision as well (on loan+option to buy) + Sari has given the green light to Granovskaia to complete this asap.

Sari wants him to join Chelsea w/in the next 2wks.
He is someone who can enter the 1st 11 immediately and this can have an effect on Hazard’s role as well.

          Thoughts  ?

        • AllanBrallan says:

Had the exact money and wouldn’t be able to do the transfers today since both rash and Pogba went up last night… So i guess a few beers might actually help in fpl sometimes…

        • @Kop, a little. It is no secret that this season he has really banged at home and been kind of pedestrian when playing away. It is basically the same as last season. If you double his numbers home and away for goals scored, you almost get his exact goals scored home and away for last season.

The one thing that does encourage me with Kun is that he has played almost all the tougher away games. I think that in part has hampered his away numbers. He blanked away to Arsenal, Wolves, Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham. Out of those five, Hammers be the one that stands out as a team he definitely should score on. Versus Leicester, Saints and Cardiff he got a goal or an assist, which are teams you expect him to score on or at the very least get an assist.

          His remaining fixtures away are
          Huddersfield
          Toon
          Everton
          Bournemouth
          United
          Fulham
          Palace
          Burnley
          Brighton

I like them fixtures even if they are away. Grant it, there is zero chance I will own him through all of them, but those fixtures don’t scare me even if his away form is not great.

        • Kop Warrior says:

          That all makes sense Mito.

Assuming Kane is out I’ll probably replace him with Kun. I might look at considerable downgrading Kane and putting the money into midfield.

        • Mito

Aguero is in my Tips and now I’m not writing it. I’m cutting and pasting that.

          Just so you know!

        • @GP, As long as you treat it as your words and not mine, when shit hits the fan I want the community blaming you, not me. smile

Also made transfers last night which I will regret if Kane turns out to be injured but Rashford’s price was flying and I have a feeling we won’t get anything conclusive on Kane until the end of the week.
