Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24
Let the fun begin! We could be about to encounter a number of DGW’s on the bounce and DGW24 is the first of those, albeit with just the 4 teams playing twice.
We begin on Saturday and end on Wednesday but it is also worth bearing in mind that DGW25 then starts less than 48hrs later, on Friday evening.
Leicester and Liverpool get us under way @12.30pm on Saturday and this is followed by Palace & Burnley @3pm, Man City get their double under way @5.30pm vs Spurs before Brighton & Villa see Saturday out @8pm.
Sunday is a similar marathon with Saints vs Wolves @12pm, Man Utd going to West Brom @2pm, Arsenal welcoming Leeds @4.30pm with Everton & Fulham getting their respective doubles under way @7pm.
Just the two on Monday as West Ham welcome Sheffield Utd @6pm and Newcastle go to Chelsea @8pm.
The ‘bonus’ games occur on Wednesday with Burnley & Fulham boring everybody @6pm before Everton & Man City should hopefully wake us all up again @8.15pm.

Have broken the 100 point barrier this week, with plenty more games to go. Very happy that being a bit different and doing a WC & BB in GWs 23 & 24 respectively has reaped rewards.
Obviously this will all come crashing down when 7 million teams WC & BB in GWs 25 and 26 respectively, and I drop like a stone through the rankings, but let me just have this one moment of glory.

Hello Kralin – do you mean to say that you have already activated your WC for GW 25? I am following your advice to the letter and am activating this (twixt 24-25) to ensure the leisure of affording a BB (or other surprise card) in 26.

And please reassure me – tis best to wait till the week’s end before pushing the button, isn’t it? One should not validate any moves in between time, for fear of losing team value, n’est-ce pas(FPL pre-WC feeding frenzy-style behaviour!!!)???

Yes – I mean that.
I’ve activated it, too. The earlier you activate it the better as you can bring players in before they rise in price, etc. Eg Vardy – if a target – has already risen in price. As has Pope, etc.*
I think the other thing you refer to is when you sell a player – e.g. if I got rid of Salah – then suddenly realise you want him after all and end up buying him back for more money than you paid for him initially.
So just be careful about who you move out. The only moves I’ve made so far are Robbo out (won’t be getting him back in a hurry) and Cavani out (he was only a one-week punt). Next move will be a cautious purchase of a second playing goalie.
The Robbo example is a good example of the above. I bought him for 7m but his current price is 7.3 I think. So I’d be 0.3 out of pocket if I got him back.
*I’ve got pretty lazy with monitoring price rises and falls and team value, however. There’s only a certain amount of time one can give to the game.

Hello Kralin – well I have taken the irreversible step of activating and making only the essential trades (ie: McCarthy/Coufal/Soucek/Cavani/Antonio > Martinez(had him until 2 weeks ago, just coming back to the fold)/Shaw/Raphinha/Watkins/Kane.
Maybe one more move – but I’ll leave that later. I have to say that I really really like my team now – it’s not surprising, it’s a tad ‘template’, but I think it will be an efficient one with which to confront the coming DGWs, BGWs and EGWs (Empty game weeks), as well as AGWs (Annoying game weeks).
I’m probably missing a Brighton or Chelsea element, but I can easily ship out one of the boys at the back for Sanchez or Mendy at some stage.

I can’t make up my mind about Kane on the wildcard. Have hedged my bets and gone for Ings for now. Am slightly torn between Kane and Vardy.
I haven’t really thought of Brighton and Chelsea at all, yet. May have to plunder the former for cheap enablers (if they have anyone who fits the bill).
May be. Really need Villa Spurs to be confirmed in GW29, otherwise without FH or WC it could be very difficult to navigate if for some reason that fixture is not slotted in there.

Who ever has Mee he is ruled out of Wednesday’s game with concussion
Gents, not doing too badly at the moment and having all chips left to play with.
What would you advise me to do with this lot and all my chips? some say Wildcard in GW25 and then BB in GW26?
