Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28. Back so soon? Hopefully these random deadlines will be playing havoc with your mini-league rivals. And equally, hopefully not with you. Before we move on then, it’s probably worth noting that the next deadline is on Saturday, a mere 3 1/2 days from now. That one will be less of a surprise, but it’s always worth knowing.

Tuesday looks like a parade of the perennially mid-table / relegation battlers. Cardiff could actually go within 5 points of Everton with a win and we aren’t sure if that says more about Neil Warnock or less about Marco Silva. Huddersfield are pretty much done for and the Wolves are at the door. Brighton are not safe yet and will be looking to pull Puel closer to his own exit. Neither Newcastle or Burnley are mathematically safe just yet, a win for either would be a big step towards being so.

Wednesday brings an altogether more positive atmosphere with the big guns all on show. Sort of. Arsenal kick us of in pursuit of their main prize against Bournemouth; 4th place. Southampton and Fulham continue to defy our criteria with a true relegation battle. Chelsea and Spurs then look to threaten it, before the real big boys come in to play as Palace (no, not you!) host Man United, Liverpool grapple with Watford and Man City play with West Ham.

The games in full…

How many players do we think will be acceptable for the upcoming blank. Fixtures do not look great so not sure on the free hit. Bournemouth, West Ham and Liverpool basically have favourable fixtures. I do not seem to have a lot of coverage either

    Question.
At the moment I have 6 players who are playing gw31.
Is it worth using my FH?
    Or save it for gw33?

Morning hammer. When are you planning on wildcarding? My current plan is to FH in 32 and WC in 34. However, I am also considering WC in 32 and FH in 33 – it depends on which teams blank in 33. Either way, I will be using my FTs and a few hits over the next few weeks prepping for 31. I also have 6. TAA will come in this week for me, probably.

        Morning AT.
Sort of looking to WC in 34, although not 100% on that on as yet.
As we are not 100% on gw33, it makes it difficult.
I currently have Fab, TAA, Robertson, Salah, Lascelles and Anderson.

        • AT says:

Yeah. The reason for me (currently) not being keen on FH in 31 or 33 is that you risk leaving yourself short of players in the other blank, i.e. if you free hit in 31, that does not really help you for 33 and vice versa, given that both are related to FA Cup progression.

The only reason why I am still considering a shift to WC in GW 32 (which would be a last minute decision given that the FA Cup will be played in 31) is that it would enable me to play FH in 33 rather than relying on the team I am currently building for 31. This would likely only be of benefit if Brighton and/or City get knocked out of the FA Cup by Millwall and Swansea respectively as it would mean that Spurs/City players would be playing in 33, which could leave me trailing if I don’t have any of them. This seems unlikely though, so WC 34 is what I’m pretty sure I will end up doing. FH in 32.

        • AT says:

Arsenal don’t play in 31 but will play in 33 but I don’t think that in itself is enough to warrant wanting to free hit in 33, especially because it is away (but coupled with City and/or Spurs players I might be tempted).

Hope that all makes sense. Easier with the tracker to look at whilst you read it!

Think I might FH for gw31, and WC in gw32 to try and cover gw33 and beyond for my TC and BB

        • EBC says:

I only have 4 for GW31, have loads with potential doubles on GW32 and 7 for GW33.

Hoping for a bit of luck in the cup (notably Millwall beating Brighton which would give me Trippier & Son) but failing that I should be able to get at least 9 in GW33 via transfers.

Hammerfan, you can go different ways. A FH works but tbh you could probably get to 8-9 players without much transfer effort and that would save your chip for a later week.

How’s everyone going this GW? I panicked to get in Aguero early, then forgot he was playing Sunday, then panicked when I heard about my other 2 strikers (Firmino and Rashford) being injured and got in Jimi for Firmino only to discover the great result from last night. Currently sitting pretty on 6pts for 3 players – a possible 9 for 4 if Rashford is replaced. But I do love this game – it’s a bit like Snakes and ladders for adults! . See y’all!

Looks like my prediction of CHE v BHA for 6th March is gone now. I had fancied the FA might get a dispensation from UEFA for it to be played on the CL night.
