Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.

Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.

Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

ManU could really use a central defender! Someone like Alderweireld would have been great… :winktongue: #ShouldHavePaidUp

    FC Sanchez says:

Moura did well in pre-season and with Son out, seemed like the right choice. Whenever he played for PSG previously, he impressed as well, though he didn’t always start. Didn’t think he’d do this well this early though!

Mourinho looks like he’s gonna burst into tears !!

Anyone thinking about: Mendy — Robertson — Alonso — Trippier at the back?

      RedKev says:

Yeah would love to …currently have Alonso/Mendy/Robertson/Shaw but can’t see a way to get an extra £1m :/

      Kralin says:

I worry about Spurs’ rotation of full-backs.

But the first three of your quartet, definitely.

      FC Sanchez says:

True, you do need to make sacrifices in midfield or up front for that almighty back four. Defo can’t have e.g. Aguero + Kane + Salah + other decent mids, and that back four.

      • Kralin says:

It can be managed with two of those (e.g. Kun and Salah). Kane hasn’t interested me much yet, though nice to see the August goal thing emphatically put to bed.

I’m hoping to get Alonso in during the first break.

All these nice cheapish forwards and mids have made for an interesting start to the season.

Let me add another option now!

    1) Hazard & Mitrovic
    2) Fraser & Kane
    3) Moura & Firmino

      Kralin says:

Before jumping on Moura I’d check:

      Spurs’ fixtures
Is Son due back soon (I genuinely have lost track of Son, who could well be serving in his country’s armed forces by now – I have no idea)
The uselessness of United’s defence tonight – will his forthcoming opponents yield so willingly?

I’m thinking Spurs’ players after the Liverpool game.

      • banjomaker says:

Cheers Kralin. All good points. Think I’ll stick with option 1.

      • FC Sanchez says:

Son is at the Asian Games with South Korea. Depends how well they do / far they go I guess re/ his return date.

        • Kralin says:

Thanks. I had a hazy notion of him sipping his rum ration before some big push, thinking wistfully back to his superstar days as a Spurs’ midfielder.

        • South Korea will play Vietnam in the semifinals on the 29th. If they progress, the final is on 1st of September.

        • inittowinit says:

They’re in the semis which are on Wednesday. The final is on Friday. He’ll be back after the IB basically. If they don’t win the final then he’ll be missing for 21 months as of next season!

        • FC Sanchez says:

Haha, that’s right, mandatory military service. He would have won exemption back in 2014 as S Korea won that tournament but Leverkusen refused to release him!

        • inittowinit says:

Indeed, poor form from Bayer, they basically knew he wouldn’t be called up within his current (as was) contract with them and that there was little prospect of him still being there when the time came around.

Spurs are hedging their bets. Must be a weird situation to try and get your around if you’re him.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

It’s very strange, there was a S Korean golfer who played very well and was trending in the right direction in the US on the PGA Tour, and then when he was at his peak he had to go to the army… Missed two seasons, and, no need to say, came back as a lost cause 😆

        • secretzorro says:

If he plays for a league team in S.Korea this season, he can do his service in the Army Teams.

      • dawids11 says:

considering how moura played today i wouldn’t be too much concerned about his return
