Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.

Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.

Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

It’s a funny old game… I was all about dropping King for Mitrovic, but I gave it a thought and perhaps I should drop Zaha for Mitro instead…

    1) King has scored 1 goal, has 12pts so far
    2) Zaha has scored 2 goals, has 12pts so far

    smile

And how many points did Alonso have again? 😀

My main call this week will be to replace Richarlison with Walcott or swap Tomkins for Alonso and then downgrade Richarlison to someone like Fraser, Neves et al (or leave Richarlison on the bench and downgrade King).

Walcott and Alonso both have mouth-watering fixtures. Not having Alonso is getting on my nerves.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, I had the chance to buy Alonso for a hit for this gameweek, but I though he can’t get attacking returns in every game, and Davies might surprise us… Well didn’t happen, and now I will have to buy Alonso and he will get nothing in the next game obviously…

        • Kralin says:

In-between writing the post and your reply I steadied my nerves and thought (irrationally) that Wan-Bissaka can be my Alonso for this week – I’ll just have to suspend my disbelief and hope CP can keep Southampton at arm’s length; just do the Walcott move and sort out Alonso with 2FTs over the break, even if he’s 7.5m by then.

      • roccerfeller says:

Alonso is playing well – he’s a set and forget denfender in my opinion. The value in having him comes from owning him before he starts his point streaks.

Alonso looks much better this year than last year – he’s playing well in Sarri’s attacking system. He just *looks* good. More confident? Maybe his jaw line is more chiselled too.

        • Kralin says:

Oh I wish I had him. May still go for him this week. The other option I have is get him and Walcott and downgrade King (to Ings) for a -4.

But -4s don’t feature much in my vocabulary.

Ok, I know its early, but price rises and injuries might force me might force me to do a transfer early.

    Ederson
    Azpi/Robertson/Cedric
    Richarlison(susp)/Kante/Salah(v)/Mkhi
    Firmino/Arnie(inj)/Aguero(c)

    Speroni/Cairney/Daniels/Tomkins(inj)

    Richarlison-?Walcott/Pedro/Gundogan…. or any other suggestions.
What about replacing Tomkins? Worth waiting till friday just in case of a recovery?
Will bench Arnie if he doesnt recover.

sorry for the duplicate. realised i didnt include the FT + ITB and tried to cancel, but didnt work.

      Kralin says:

I think Walcott’s a good bet and it’s not worth taking a hit for Tomkins, just fall back on your bench.

      • hammerfan_lm says:

        What about Gundogan?
Will keep an eye on the price tonight. Not sure it will go down though.
If it looks like it will, I will do the transfer, if not tomorrow. Just worried Wally will get injured in the cup game.

        • Kralin says:

Not sure if Walcott with play in the cup. I’m keeping a vague eye on the prices.

Gündogan’s an interesting shout. Corners and likes a shot or two. Crosses the ball a bit. Why not? I have no idea at all how nailed he is, though. I hadn’t thought about him at all as my own side has three City players.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

Gundogan isnt highly owned, but has 13 points so far. City have a few good games coming up (Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff, Brighton, then Liverpool)
Could be worth a punt if not many people have him

        • Kralin says:

I always thought of him as I do Fernandinho, sits (or stands) in front of the defence; not an attacking player. An assist the assiter type player. But one who gets plenty of the ball.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

He got the assist for the equaliser against Wolves.

        • Kralin says:

Yes. I meant that was how I thought of him, rather than the reality.

Bottom line is I suppose that City will dominate possession in most of their games.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

So, not only Richarlison suspended, Arnie and Tomkins injured, now Cairney is injured.

Anyone have any updates on these.
I am prepared to lose 4 points if need be.
I will do Richarlison->Gundogan, but what about the others

Alonso is a f-ing machine atm can’t get him in my team fast enough
    he’s a MUST HAVE surly.
    Got my WC active.
Mane or Haz ? (got Salah)
Also would like Mitro for Ings…but ran out of cash.!
Any issues going forward with this lot?

      Kralin says:

      Looks fine to me.

      Zed Leppelin says:

How about Mitro in for Zaha? Zaha’s getting yellows and no bonus… Mitro will surely be a lot better value! See my post above smile

      • Kralin says:

Palace’s fixtures are a lot better than Fulham’s (into the future a few games).

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yes they are but fixtures only tell half a story (if even that)… Thus far Mitro has twice as many pts as Zaha, both have played 2 easy(ish) fixtures and 1 bad one, Mitro scored in his 1 bad fixture against Spurs, Zaha loses possession a lot and gets yellows, Mitro is cheaper, all the stuff that go to Mitro’s favor are quite easily outweighing Zaha’s (slightly) better fixtures at this point imo!

        • Kralin says:

Pas faux. From what I’ve seen – albeit not much – Mitovic is a bit Ings like in that he frequently seems to be going for goal. And, weirdly, aren’t all his goals headers?

He certainly looks a fine asset to have. Zaha may be the better one at creating chances, getting some decent crosses in. Shame he’s not crossing to Mitrovic.

I think you have to consider fixtures when Man City feature soon.

      inittowinit says:

I’d take Haz over Mane personally and also Mitro over Zaha. And that’s not based solely on today’s points btw, more of a general overall feeling.

Thx a lot for your replies chaps
      Never conciderd Zaha for Mitro’
      I like Zaha tho
