Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.

Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.

Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

  1. I am looking at ways to get in Alonso.

    A) Walker -> Alonso
    B) Richarlison + Peltier -> Alonso + 4.5m for a 4 point hit and moving to a 433.
City’s fixtures are great for next 4 so Walker should pick up some clean sheets and maybe attacking returns.
    What do all you think?

If I do B) it has to be tonight

    • B is tempting given you’d in a way be replacing Rich with Walker, who like you say is a great choice for the next few City fixtures… 4-3-3 looks solid too, defs are proving to be great value at the start of the season!

    • You could do A and still land a good 4-3-3?

      • Thanks Init.
        That’s an interesting thought.
Palace do have great fixtures too.

    • hi horse. id go for A

    • A for me

  2. Extremely disappointing week after a great start. Scored 41 with Shaw to play. I had to head away with 78mins gone in Chelsea game was looking at Luiz cs and bps and Zaha bps and overall rank of 5k, disappointed to check when I got chance to see what happened, overall 30k now.
Anyway enough complaining. Any help appreciated for gw4. Rich to Wally or Pedro. Thanks guys.

    • I’m not sure how nailed Pedro is; if he is nailed then probably him.

It’s my doubt about that that’s steering me towards Walcott.

It’s always a bummer when those CS and BPS evaporate, like a mirage. It’s been an odd week, with seemingly all the 6.5 -7m striker options doing ok.

      • I have the same doubts with Pedro

Hazard has only come back into the starting squad today and when the sub time came it was Pedro and Willian, which to me indicates it might get to a point where Pedro could still lose the role

Just my two cents. I like Pedro though, but Walcott seems the safer more sure bet to start.

      • Cheers mate. That’s my fear also so will probably go with Walcott. It can be a cruel game at times.

      • Hi Kralin. Thanks for the reply mate.
I’m thinking the same. Pedro definitely isn’t nailed on imo either to take the risk.

    • I’d do Wally and be away with the stress of doubt on Pedro. Felt the same pain on Luiz as he was all set for 3 baps at that point.

      • Cheers mate for the reply. I’ll go with Wally I think. It’s cruel when it happens sometimes.

    • Any cash in the bank ?

      • Nope nothing unfortunately mate. I could do with a bit of tinkering but overall happy enough with my team.

    • Great start. Pedro or Wally. Pedro is more of a risk. You have BSilva already so probably the safer Theo

      • Cheers smash. Yeah I went with Wally. Don’t want to risk Pedro.

  3. Took an early -4 for this. Has left me .4 itb too smile

I know early tfs can bit you in the ass but need Alonso in the team. Thinking of shipping Coleman after next week. Young and Alderweireld have dropped in price for lack of game time. Which is the better of the 2 when they get locked in again.

  4. Paid today big time not having Alonso in my team. I decided to keep Robertson and not take a hit

  5. I’m actually considering benching Richalison till he is back and playing Obi Wan (SOU,hudd) in a 4-3-3 and saving my transfer this week.Am i mad ??

    • Wouldn’t say so. Depends on the strength of the 4 though I guess.

      • Mendy,Robertson,Alonso,Obi Wan
        Salah,Mane,Mikki
        Aguero,Zaha,Ings

        • Pedro Wally etc not really inspiring me plus will probably want Rich back so saves 2 transfers is kinda the way i’m looking at it.

        • That’s pretty much 100% what I was hoping for when I said it Brooky. Stick.

        • Cheers Innit, thats the reassurance i was kinda looking for ! smile

        • I’m wondering the same thing Brooky! If we brought in Wally/Pedro would we definitely want to play them over Obi-Wan?! In your case you’ve got a solid 11 without the transfer and saving 2fts could be valuable! Having said that you’d be playing Obi v Ings next week so one will lose out and Wally/Pedro would slightly edge it for me over Ings fixture wise for the next 2 …tough decision!
My team has a few more risks with Bilva/Shaw/Arnie …what would you both suggest on my team? (188 on page 32)

        • Hey Brooky. We got identical outfield 10. Fabianski in goal for me. Hope you have a great game week!!!!

        • Ha just checked your team Brooky. Our 15 are completely identical. Apart from you have a FT and 4 more points. Great minds and all that

        • Hey Red Obi Wan could always get an assist ! 😉
Horse,i must be doing something right this season then !! smile

        • Brooky. By the way how much money do you have in the bank? I got 0.4m I have been doing early transfers. Wondering if it’s made any difference.

        • 0.3m Horse.Trying to be sensible this season,no early transfers and cutting back down on hits !

    • Brookyboy this is exactly what I’m thinking:

      • I’m thinking of using my FT to do Peltier—>Bennett (i.e. a non playing 4.0 def to a playing 4.0 def) or Patricio—>someone else either 4.5 or 4.0

    • No, not mad. W-B is appealing and Rich is only out for a fortnight. It’s just that fortnight contains two attractive games for Everton, hence the appeal of Walcott. Yet Palace’s games aren’t bad either. I’ll probably be playing W-B as Tomkins got injured, anyway.

Crunch time with selling R for a profit (or not) will soon be upon us.

      • Will we be able to bring him back in for 6.5? i.e. will drop that much?

        • He could. I’d be surprised if he didn’t drop another .1 before Friday, and then there may be another selling surge before the weekend.

          Walcott’s ownership rises remorselessly.

If I’m going to make the swap I may do it tonight. I don’t like going early but have 2FTs this week. Another temptation of going early is that I’ll stop overthinking other options.

        • May not need to bring him back if Walcott can continue his good form.

        • KDB has only dropped 0.2 and he’s out for 3 months. Hopefully Richarlison will only drop 0.2m
