Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3.
Well looky here, we start on a Friday again. This time it is Aston Villa playing host to barely scoring Everton, but not to worry Toffee fans, nothing can fix an attack faster than a game vs the Villains.
Saturday brings us six fixtures. They kick-off with a lunch time meeting between Pukki mania and a team that gave Hazard’s number 10 to Willian. After that there is four 3pm games. Brighton vs Southampton is accompanied by Man United against Palace, the surprising Sheffield, match-up versus the Ayoze Perez led Leicester and Watford tangle with West Ham. The day is capped with the best game on paper when first place Liverpool plays first place Arsenal.
Sunday has three more fixtures in store for us. The early game sees Bournemouth get pummeled by City in a game that could see The Cherries 25th choice keeper Aaron Ramsdale get rammed up the…. The latter two games has Spurs take apart Toon and Wolves fight it out with Burnley.

Evening all! Hope you’ve all had a good gameweek and didn’t captain Kane! Just wanted to give everyone on here some thanks for all their great advice and insightful comments. I know it’s early days but in all the years I’ve been playing this game I have never been in the top 10k. 3 weeks in and I’m up to 3,670th. Long may it continue!

I’m not having a good GW, I did captain Kane. Barely within the top 1M atm. Its depressing.

Very early days. Things will settle down, probably already have a bit. The more it goes on the more info we have and decisions become a bit easier. There’s been some weird stuff happening but City and Liverpool look like they’re marching on and you can build a lot around that.

As Kralin says, it’s early days. It’s a marathon,, not a sprint. In any given gameweek you can rise hundreds of thousands of places and you can fall that many too!
I’ve been rather lucky, like jumping in early on Pukki, so got his hattrick, didn’t captain him though.

Oh yeah, a duff captain choice can see you drop loads; but I’ve always found it easier to lead than catch up in this game so you’re in a good place. Done with only one City player, too.

No, though I’d be sorely tempted by Kun in for Kane* (looking at the run of fixtures City have plus the Jesus injury). One senses a fairly high yield of points.
* despite earlier comments about Kane.

Rather stupidly I thought they were the same price (I haven’t really looked at Kun much, being a Sterling owner).
1 is the easy choice if Martial is injured; 2 would be my choice but for Zinchenko’s relative insecurity. However I think I’d rather have a City player than a United one so 2, just, though be prepared to ditch Zinchenko at some stage.

Info’s a bit thin on the ground at the moment. You could be a good egg and do some legwork, sniff around and see what you can dig up.

I moved Robbo out for GW3 to enable other things; I got away with it this week. Jota is perhaps a bigger concern?

Yeah I’m happy with this GW although that Jimenez 90+8 goal was very frustrating, if only it was Jota instead… I think I’m rolling with that team next week, going to save transfer and then see what happens to Jota next week…

Just wait another week. I’ve made a few moves like that myself in the past – undoing what I did. The game can be frustrating at times, the road long. But you’ll feel even worse if Mane and Kane score and Kun and Salah don’t. Mane is not a bad player to have, it’s just not owning Salah is very risky.

Wan Bissaka out for Zinchenko?

My other (back 2) are Digne and Robertson (plus Lundstrom and Söyüncü)

Zinchenko is on borrowed time I think, if you move him in you might have to move him on soon. What about Laporte?

He’s too expensive, I should have said I have zero ITB.

If you have a wildcard still it’s fine. Zinchenko is pretty terrible so will likely get dropped soon enough

He’s top of the bonus points system for City defenders at the moment (62 to Walker’s 59). Hopefully a couple of clean sheets before his time comes.

I fairly quickly suggested to someone else last night that that was an OK move, in the sense it was better to have a City player than a United one*. United have ok fixtures but how consistent – in terms of being good, bad, or middling – they’ll be, I have no idea. Meanwhile City go powering on.
One advantage of Zinchenko is that when his time comes you’ll have had a few more weeks (I hope) to assess other defenders and so have more data to base a swap on.
* obviously though the United one could be by far the better player, etc, so there’s a bit more to it than that. But surprisingly I did look at (compared) both and there’s not a lot, on paper, between them at the moment. I have Zinchenko and it would take a bit to persuade me that W-B is an upgrade.
