Evening all
This is my WC team so far
Not a lot of fantastic options really.
Can’t trust Arsenal, City and United games aren’t great, so I’m gonna keep a couple of Pool players and swap Sterling out for Salah after the DGW.
Thoughts…
Very similar to my first (and thus far only) draft… Triple Brighton defense as myself but you know what it means 😆
Yep points in the bag! 😉
Practically identical to mine…other than I don’t have Dunk. Had him in like you and got really nervous about 3 BRI in defense. So chickened out and got Holebas.
I was .1 short so got Hojiberg instead of JWP.
Cheers Mh…hope we do well!
Out of curiosity Mad, what was your team value before you started the wildcard? trying to sneak in a City midfielder, but cant do it unless its a cheapy.
105 I think
ah, thats why i cant afford Kane, Aguero, Mane and Sterling…lol
Have you tried the triple Brighton defense yet?
2 is enough for me :p
I like it, triple Brighton is a bit rich for me (I’ll have 2) but it could work out awesome! I have 9/15 currently but I’ve spread the money around a little more rather than go for two big hitters up top but granted I still have Salah!
I still have Salah as well. Still trying to decide whether to have him or Mane for GW36.
Hi guys.
Could you please help me out with this WC-draft?
Im going to BB in 35 and am not sure about City during those fixtures. I thinking about switching KdB to someone to 35 but not sure to whom.
I think it’s an excellent draft, can’t really see any issues and I personally like the KDB pick!
Ooo, Thank you sir
Given that I’ve just gone through the remaining GWs and written 2 captain options for each week and Kun doesn’t appear until GW38, is that a reason to leave him out of my WC team?
Oh that’s interesting! He’s not in my current side and I don’t actually see that changing.
Yes!
No!
Jesus again…
Possibly. Kane as captain for 34, presumably. No idea who you’re thinking of for 35. Sterling? Kane again, maybe.
No Kun opens a few doors. It makes it easier for managers to regroup and bring in Liverpool mids. Or not drop them in the first place.
Yours is the first comment I’ve seen this evening but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few forward lines of Kane/Jiminez/Deeney starting to be put forward.
Kralin, this was my 5min Capo rundown!
Deeney in 35 is an interesting choice. 35 is quite a complex one to call, captaincy-wise, at the moment.
LIV or Spurs look like good Cpt material in GW35? Probably more LIV as one never knows with Spurs.
There is 1 more factor – I am not sure how it will play. The Golden boot!
(1) Aguero – 19 Goals (did not win it in last 3 seasons after 2014-15)
(2) Kane – 17 Goals (missed the hatty of title last year due to injuries and incredible Salah)
(3) Salah – 17 Goals (the holder)
(4) Auba and Mane – 17 Goals (ambition to win it for the first time)
All these 4 teams (CITY, POOL, SPURS and ARS) have to win their matches – makes it more interesting. Add LEI/WAT/WOL for 7th spot and Europa league – that pulls Vardy, Jimenez and Deeney in picture, but more from team-feat perspective.
Do you think Aguero will leave this opportunity to win the Golden boot at this stage?
It’s an excellent point GM and one I hadn’t considered.
Given their fixtures and or/form (both for Jimenez), Kane & Jimenez are locked in for me personally.
That would then mean having to turn Deeney into Aguero. I may just need Jesus for that operation 😉
But seriously that would then mean choosing 2 of Kun, Mane & Salah and Liverpool’s games and potential to destroy in 35 & 36 means Kun must miss out until at least GW37.
This is a week I wish I could have more than 3 FWDs.
It is very difficult to choose….currently I too have Kane and Jimenez like most/becoming a template….3rd spot is the concern. Aguero takes hefty budget and so is Sterling.
Anyone planning to get any UTD attacker? – looks like largely ignored.
I did think that Rashford was turning into the forgotten man of GW35. Yet he has a juicy tie in 34 and could be swapped, perhaps, for someone else for 35.
Man U losing at Wolves and Pogba withdrawing into himself seems to have put people (myself included) off Man U.
Given that this WC side delivers pretty much what we’ll have for the rest of the season, owning Rashford in weeks 37 and 38 may be a real blessing.
I’m still on Vardy in the fabled third striker spot. Everything else besides, he’s a decent placeholder as his price means I can move around different options.
Jiminez and Kane can only be shifted now by injury.
Good point re the golden boot.
But I doubt Kun will have much choice, given that he’s nursing an injury and City have alooming and tough CL QF.
Bored so just had a tinker with my team. What do you think of going differential:
A. Sterling, Rose and Oriel Romeo (current safe option)
B. KdB, Kiko Femenia and Bilva
Current
Hey Matt. Looks good. My wild card team is very similar How nailed is Danny Rose?
I think he’s nailed but Davies does get minutes towards the end of games
I’ve been trying to work out nailedish Spurs’ players. Kane, Eriksen and Lloris seem the best bets, recently at least.
Agree with Kralin and add Vertonghen too in the bunch. But 3 times playing City in 10 days will not be easy – Pochettino has to rotate. What strategy PEP and Poch will take in each match – will be fun to watch. Its like a rapid chess game.
I swear I didn’t see this team before writing my reply to Cookie.
I mentioned that front line.
I like the team.
If you’re going down the Deeney route – and I appreciate we’re many days, and drafts, before the crunch – have you thought about Murray as a one week punt, then swapping to Deeney for 35?
Are you playing BB in GW35? In that case I’d really try to find a way of turning Romeu into Höjbjerg or JWP… Perhaps Robertson to TAA would do the trick, either could outscore the other until the end now…
Any arsenal fans out there know what’s going on with auba? Is he out of favour now?
He was a dead dert for my WC team a few weeks back, but not so sure now
He’s not started 4 out of the last 6 now, which suggests you can’t trust in him. Ironically he may have to start now though.
I find it odd that you have a player like that at your disposal and choose not to use him.
Very strange indeed.
From an FPL point of view he’s only 6 pts behind kun despite being benched so much lately which is unbelievable considering
Emery picks the team according to the opposition so there are no 100% starts except Leno, Sokratis.
Anyone’s guess really whether he starts every game, think he’ll play most of the minutes tho cause today clearly didn’t work.
Sokratis got 2 match ban due to 10 YC…I am staying away from ARS def. in WC – A view of a sad but optimistic Gunners!
Realistic?!
@Cookie Yes, Realistic?! Thats the best feeling to share.
We need the 4th spot or Europa League win to go to UCL solely because of money. With current squad we will be battered in UCL by any team, but UCL can get some money, draw attention of some good players and may be attention from Kroenka to open his purse a bit.
Without UCL, there is no hope of any change. Ozil, Mkhi etc. must be sold to free-up wages, but they don’t want to go as no other club will take them in such huge wage. Lets see what happens – Emery has to force to make things happen.
Happy for you mate! :woot:
Keep in mind they have a Quarter Final ahead this week so he’s got to save some resource for that.
I’m expecting him to begin on Thursday.
Possibly meaning he’s benched for the league game again?
Hammers
Possibly.
Emery has a fantastic relationship with that particular tournament and they are only two ties away from the final now.
First proper stab….with a view to BB in DGW35. Digne will likely become a Watford defender of choice for DGW35 but I may as well keep today’s hero for next week’s trip to Fulham.
The keeper / defender double up of Saints is not ideal.
Off for a roast.
Good team Cookie, not sure I’ll have all 3 Liverpool players for 35. Maybe 1 City mid, Sterling (?)?
Also, which Watford defender is likely to play both the dgw games?
Think, they basically rotate everyone except Foster.
Blimey you eat late. Have you moved to Spain?
No City is a calculated gamble that given their fixtures and rotation and I’ve no doubt an injury or two could pay off. I’ve been fiddling with a no City side and find it enables better planning for 34 and 36 (e.g. Spurs and Liverpool).
You could obviously make Salah Sterling and move between them, or make Salah/Mane Eriksen.
Salah & Mane are non-negotiable for 35 & 36, its Cardiff & Huddersfield after all! Post GW36 Salah can become anyone.
Good point re Watford Kunai – I’ll keep working on it, thanks both of you.
Kralin, we do eat late by then time the kids are down and asleep.
Too late for me really my friend.
Have a nice bottle of red on the go, mind you!
