Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 34
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 34. Back to some semblance of normality, although even then we have a double game-week of sorts to contend with this week.
Once again we begin on Friday night, this time with a bubbling Leicester hosting a bumbling Newcastle.
Saturday sees six games in total. Spurs welcome Huddersfield in the early one before Brighton and Cardiff play the first of their ‘DGW’ games with Bournemouth visiting the former and Burnley hosting the latter. Relegated Fulham then welcome Everton and the Saints play a crest fallen Wolves. The late one on Saturday sees West Ham taking a trip to Old Trafford to play Man United.
The title race resumes on Sunday with Man City going first again as they visit Palace before Liverpool play catch up at home to Chelsea.
Watford and Arsenal are our Monday night entertainment before the DGW giants of Brighton and Cardiff clash on Tuesday evening.
The games in full…

The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
So, pool or city wins the title?
This victory today makes me hope again. City got 2 difficult games left…
The Reds off course 😉 …
I think Utd are poor. And at home to Spurs. Just can’t see them dropping points.
City won’t drop any points!
They will…
They are not Martians…
City v Spurs playing consecutively now will be very interesting Kop.
Even more if City and Liverpool clash in the CL semis!
Liverpool likely to be facing Barcelona in the semis.
Kralin you made me check this as it was mentioned in passing on the radio last week and I meant to do so; the semi draw is pre-determined isn’t it? FotMob suggests so also.
Yes. Liverpool could (and I hope do) play United in the semi. Or indeed Porto could play United.
Correct Init. But I honestly haven’t givent the CL a moments thought.
Barsa played with their 2nd team in the Primera.
They will kill UTD next week.
Whoever wins the City-Tot duel will anyway lose against Juve.
So, get ready for another Juve-Barsa final ;).
p.s. oh yes, and tell Rosco to put all his money on City winning the Cup this year 😉 …
Ah – wasn’t aware of that semis predeterminated draw. Well, it will still play a part if both go through.
Losing points in 35 is not impossible. After that it seems a walk in the park. However, the Leicester game could prove tricky if they go through into the champions league semifinal as that game is the one between both legs..
I expect Spurs to throw everything at the CL game and then fold in the league. As for United? Well they’re just not good enough, derby or no derby!
I’m also not convinced we’ll win all our games.
Who knows exactly. Either way, whoever is runner-up this season is going to be damn unlucky.
Agreed GP.
@GP-true that.
I liked the stuff Klopp was saying after the game.
A few ghosts were laid to rest today, whatever happens.
We can’t put ‘laying ghosts to rest’ in a trophy cabinet!
No but you can lay a few ghosts. Which you need to do sometimes. We may not win it this year but we’re much better place now than when we blew it a few years ago.
I did have a minor daydream that we’d stick about 14 past Huddersfield and sneak ahead on goal difference, but of course we’re likely to go 2-0 up and just close that game down.
You’re right Kralin. Unfortunately these last 29 have made me rather cynical.
What ghosts were laid to rest today? The Slip up?
If it’s that one, that ghost will never be laid to rest for many of us!
But on a serious note and from a Liverpool point of view, beating Chelsea surely doesn’t put the Slip up ghost to rest, only winning the title can do that I would have thought?
In a curious way I was hoping City would win yesterday, because I thought the pressure of having to beat Chelsea – who have a good record at Anfield – with the title chance back in our hands, may prove too nervy a business. Hopefully they’ll slip up somewhere in 35. I’d still say they were favourites for the title.
The slip all those years ago was going to happen at some time. It distracted from the massive slipping up that was happening with that defence week in, week out.
There were odd parallels yesterday – after the 0-2 five years ago City then played Palace I think.
I wonder what, if anything related was, went through Salah’s mind yesterday, as he was one of the few survivors from the infamous 2014 game. Maybe just the passing of time, and how small Anfield seemed then.
Liverpool. I think they’ll win all their remaining games, I don’t think City will.
Pool
Any chances of Ozil and Auba both starting tomorrow?
Yeah possibly.
I’d imagine Auba has to really, I’d be less optimistic about Ozil given his last away display at Everton. He hadn’t been starting away games and that probably proved the manager right as to why not.
I don’t think so.
Can’t see Ozil starting after his last performance – probably Mkhi will be a starter.
As for Auba, think he’ll get some mins(like 30 or so), but also don’t think he ll start.
Think Ozil will be on bench. Auba I have a feeling will start over Laca this week
Wasn’t there a rumour that Auba was injured?
There was Cookie. Apparently he hobbled down the tunnel after the Napoli game.
Ozil should start unless he is rested for the Napoli game. Everyone was shocking at Everyone, he wasn’t an exception and was defended by Emery. and Auba as well. Auba was apparently benched cause he had an illness and was sick for the last 2 gws.
Everton*
Just passed the +2000 pts! Don’t think I’ve ever done it this early. Heading for a personal best I hope (2293)!
2,017 points for us both tonight! That said, you’ve got 2 more points from Jota waiting, not forgetting Ryan and Deeney either… how’s the view from up there? 😉 we’ll need some monstrous DGW action to surpass ~2,300 points but here’s to trying — the hard work’s done — smash it.
2039 points for me atm, my personal best is 2288 it might be doable
Points don’t mean prizes in this game I’m afraid, not to burst any bubbles. My best points total is only my 5th best ranked season. It’s all relative to what’s going on around you.
That’s that bonfire pissed on
The Bonfire of the Vanities?
Of sorts
I know they don’t. My worst ever is conversely my 5th best… that said, my best points total is actually my best rank ever. Aside from that, it’s nice to have these milestones (1000, 2000) along the way.
You know, plant a tree, write a book, have a child, captain Shane Duffy, life ain’t complete before that!
Can’t say I’ve ever done the latter, or indeed ever will! No doubt those who did will celebrate a CS vs Cardiff like a victory.
In deed they will and they’ll have my praise for that. It’s not like the Son pick did us any favors either. It’s a justifiable pick the Duffy one that got burnt badly in the first round but there’s still the second half of this tail and in a way I do hope he scores or something so that this comes down as an amazing fpl story for the years to come (it sort of already does either way!).
I hope they get beat 4-0. And I own him
:finger:
Son’s cameo probably helped keep some of us just above, or on, the average this week. Certainly me, anyway.
I have no idea how Brighton’s game with Cardiff will go. Both sides are probably traumatised at the moment. I’m lumbered with Duffy now for the duration probably, though can bench him after 35. If I can get some hot-shot, unlikely but I’ll look, with the spare change he brings instead of Dunk, he may go before.
There will probably be an ironic GW35 coda with Duffy.
I look at over all rank too. I sit just above 34k. Never broke 100k so hoping I smash it this year and stay in the top 50k.
On 2035 if people care
Of course we care.
With the bench-boost and let’s hope a successful TC then you should be fine.
Cheered kralin TC will more then likely be Salah 36 or kun 38.

Foster at a strech might rise!
Morning everyone…
Seems we are getting Dzeko back in the PL.
WH offered him a contract worth more than £80k-per-week.
Roma needs to sell and he wants to come back to England.
Morning all.
Kids back to school and Mrs is off to work. I’m going to sit in the sunshine and catch up on all my podcasts and drink fancy coffee.
Monday’s are amazing!
You don’t work on Mondays GP?
Frenchie
I work Tuesday to Friday and that’s plenty 😉
We are (almost) afraid to ask what you do for a living 😉
When you’ve got it, use it 😉
I work in local government Doc but work compressed hours so work my 35 hours over four days.
I didn’t even know this kind of contract existed.
So a full salary but only 4 days, good job!
