Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 36
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 36. It’s almost back to a
sense of normality for GW36. We saw ‘almost’ because we do have another Friday deadline this week (and while we’re talking about it, GW37 is the same). It’s Huddersfield’s chance this week to see if they can win the award for conceding the softest ever penalty to Liverpool as they visit Anfield. James Milner for captain anyone?!
We then move into the weekend proper and it’s a lunchtime kick off at Spurs as Poch’s men host their nemesis from the east end.
Four 3pm matches follow as Everton visit Palace, Fulham try and drag Cardiff down with them, we have a battle of the south coast as Saints host Bournemouth and Watford & Wolves get to re-enact their entertaining Cup semi-final.
The evening match sees Duffy & Dunk get another opportunity to taunt owners as they try and stop Newcastle’s modern day duo of Shearer and Ferdinand as Perez & Rondon stroll into town.
Only a few hours rest before our game-week comes to a close with Sunday’s final three matches.
Opening the show is Arsenal’s visit to Leicester before Man City have the chance to reclaim top spot as they go to Burnley.
The comedy is rightly left to the end as the spluttering divas from Man Utd and Chelsea meet at Old Trafford.
The games in full…

The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
Averages looking like 91 (top 10k) and 69 (overall).
Thanks.
that’s high! TC Salah made his mark
Evening
Messed up this week! Was 6 behind but now 45!
Got 2 weeks left and a TC to use – what should I do? I have 2.3 ITB
My team and my opponent below:
Your team looks well set, roll your FT, stick the TC on Kun or Sterling and come back punching!!
was thinking on doubling up on pool coverage and maybe going with Bilva! Do I TC sterling/kun this week or wait?
Double pool defence!
Or do I get salah?
I would TC next week because the league could be over by the time we get to 38. Hopefully won’t be, but we’ll see.
It will be incredibly hard to make those points up. Hazard as TC? That’s the sort of punt you may have to make.
I know mate, wish I went with my gut and did the -8 and brought in salah for sterling!
Mitro, you have a good team but its too similar to your opponents to make up 45pts as it stands. You have to create some differentials there mate if your only desire is to chase him down.
His salah TC destroyed me
Any suggestions?
Can u do Jimenez to Firmino?
Jimenez at home to Fulham could be capo material for GW37
Mitro, relegated Fulham are seemingly a different breed to regular Fulham, suddenly winning their most-recent 3 matches now by an aggregate 4-0 scoreline. Jiménez and co. could actually struggle…
Think it has to be Toby and son to VVD & Bilva with either sterling or Kun getting the TC
Or do I just get in salah?
You need to make up ground fast with big hitting potential players. That leaves Hazard really
Kun to Aubameyang and TC him
Worth the gamble?
Just go for it Mitro. Go for one of your own.
Or Lukaku.
Time will tell if it’s worth it or not but you’re just going to coast to the end if you don’t gamble.
Cookie, Not a bad shout to be honest! Got quite a few options developing, do like this tbh (please don’t say no as I wanted to do salah for a -8 last week and I chickened out of it)
Mitro – an 8pt hit kills any remote chances you may have.
You know that.
Trying to overturn a 45 point deficit by taking an 8 point hit is madness. You are then trying to overturn a 53 point deficit.
Just do one transfer and TC whoever you bring in and hope for the best.
The same was said last week! We know how that turned out!
Gotta take the risk plus the TC will help as long as it get it right!
I can do Son and Zaha to PEA and 6.9m? Not many options in that bracket apart from mili!
Think it’s either salah or PEA I have to get in especially with the golden boot still up for grabs!
Mitro,
First up don’t draw up advice folk have given you to try and justify a ludicrous and incomparable scenario.
You chose not to use TC in the most obvious of weeks.
That hit will kill any chances you have, trust me.
Keep Zaha – he is one of your few differentials.
I would buy Lukaku and TC him.
Salah has 2 big semi-final CL matches to contend with now and, even if he still performs well, your mini-league leader already owns him.
Cookie, if lukaku was in form it would defo be an option and would be viable for TC, I would still have to take it a hit to do Jimenez to lukaku with son making way for someone valued 7.1 or less! I’m struggling to getting in salah without a -8 plus what I’m bringing in doesn’t give me much confidence! Really struggling to come up with something that doesn’t involve a -4/-8!
James – yes that is correct but doesn’t have TC!
You need different players than him, so why buy Salah?
To have a chance you have to gamble.
Kun to Lukaku or Auba.
TC who you bring in.
No hit.
Hope Kun blanks and your TC goes mental!
I can’t take out kun, he’s actually TC material home to Leicester!
I’ve got a 5 days to come up with plan.
Cheers all.
Ignore the -8. Rival has Salah anyway. I’d say get Hazard and TC him. Watford tend to concede and could be Hazard’s last home game. Keen to go out on a high
Cheers smash, i will add him to the list!
Mitro, I know you were half joking as you’re a good lad but you need to be careful about putting up pics of people’s previous advice. It’s not nice for starters but it may also dissuade others from helping you in future for fear of their advice being paraded around afterwards.
Take that as a friendly slap on the wrist. Do it again and I’ll have you over my knee 😉
Init, noted
Apologies Kralin, that was never my intention. Sorry mate
Not quite sure what that adds to the equation, other than I seem to be fairly constant in what I say. And the advice isn’t too bad, either, bearing in mind what Mane and Wilson did.
Why not have a look at my cry for help (190) and let me know what you think.
+1
Mitro, some very sound advice given out there mate. There is no point bringing in players that your rival has to try and reduce that defecit. You need 2 differential captain options over the next 2 weeks. The advantage you have is cash in the bank.Personally i would do Son to Hazard and stick the TC on him.Check hazards recent scores at home ! See how the land lies after gw37 then.
I’m with this. In fact I’m 100% with this and it could be how you win it assuming he / she doesn’t have him.
Okay I’m sold on hazard! 😉
I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m sure there will be another 5 players you are sold on between now and the deadline :winktongue:
That’s the fun of it though!
Ha ha!
The answer may well be in front of you Mitro: TC Mané and hope Salah blanks. Either that, or the Hazard call if you can buy him for free for Son (I’d actually do this transfer regardless of who you TC).
Will end up with 110, with no chip played. My third 100+ gameweek since gw32.
To bad the season before gw32 was terrible.
Haha well played Allan!
Don’t know how everyone’s approaching the finishing line, but I’m more inclined to think of GW38 rather than 37 when making transfers – unless of course injuries get in the way.
In the sense that my side seems reasonably well set up for next week (wish I had Sterling, but anyway); see the side below.
Whereas in week 38 I don’t really want 2xBrighton and 3xWolves. So I was thinking more about quietly moving Dunk – or Duffy – for an ultra-cheapo and using the 2FT in 38 to move a couple of the Wolves’ players along.
This rather than fret over Son.
Or do you see something more pressing I should be addressing? OR is fine and the ML is won. Thoughts appreciated.
Ahah! A privileged look at Kralin’s goods! I shall ponder over this lot on and off, over the next few days, wondering what decisions (and indecision!) helped K to sculpt (or weld?) this team structure! Was he thoroughly cold in his choices, or was there a degree of sentimental subjectivity involved? Ah, such is life….(quote attributed to one Ned Kelly, outlaw and antipodean folk hero!) ;).
Cheerio Kralinho! You’re probably making the right moves!
All the best, AJW!
Thanks AJW. Pretty cold, otherwise there would be 3xLiverpool. Though TAA – or VVD – could well be coming in for Doherty for 38. Or Firmino, if fit.
Most was based around having as many DGW players as possible.
A lot of what I’ll do is injury dependent, of course.
Exactly the same thinking here, thinking of just moving Llorente to Long to free up some cash and then play with 2 in 38!
Thanks, yes. I have an uncomfortable feeling that if I try to make a positive move for 37 it’ll end up being a negative move. And kicking the problem of 38 down the road. Long was someone I’d been thinking of to enable great things elsewhere, but my front 3 is fine for 37 and two thirds fine for 38.
Here’s my for 37. Will save my ft to move out two wolves or Duffy for 38 and hope that Perez is fit by then…
Yes, seems wise.
I’m half-hoping someone comes on to demolish my reasoning.
With 3 playing midweek there is potential for something to happen. Otherwise would Duffy to Lindlehof or Shaw work?
Thanks.
Huge potential, I would imagine, so I can’t move until late on Friday afternoon.
I like the Shaw idea; he’s the only other Man U player I’m seriously considering before 38. Rashford, if fit, maybe for Jiminez in 38.
Or Kompany if fit!
I have considered Wan-Bissaka as well, possibly playing him ahead of Valery.
But I’ll need to calculate what money I’ll need for 38.
Kompany not a bad shout, thanks.
Kralin, your plan as it is now seems to be the best scenario. Duffy to any defender you can afford / fancy but purely with 38 in mind. Matters not if they are playing Liverpool or City this week, their sole purpose is 38.
Thanks very much, appreciated.
Will you be joining me in retaining Vardy?
Hopefully you’re causing your league-leader to sweat a bit.
I would imagine I will keep him now.
And yes just a bit, that gap is down to 19 now. Which seemed implausible a few weeks ago when it was 70 odd. He’s no mug though and has always been a fairly good and consistent player so it’s no gimmee that it’ll happen.
Good luck with that. May well come down to the choice of captain.
I’ll join the contributors’ league next year (if you still want me contributing) so am looking forward to testing my skills against the site writers.
Of course we want you back! Yes, join up next season. They can’t be that good though as the Site Team itself is winning that one currently! To be fair it’s a keenly contrasted league, it’s also difficult to move ranks in too as you know that even when you score a ton pretty much everyone else has to, quite dissimilar to a ‘normal’ league.
Thanks.
Yes, I prefer smaller, keenly contested leagues.
Not for much longer, init, watch your backs… 😉
Overtake us James and we’ll just kick you out! 😉 There were over 700 people in that when we began, they just keep mysteriously disappearing
Question for anyone who can be bothered….
If you could buy two defenders – one for both GW37 & 38’ and one solely for GW38 who would they be?
No-one from Wolves or Liverpool are to be considered and don’t worry about budget.
Thanks in advance – asking for errrr… a friend 😉
Laporte and Shaw?
van Aanholt also worth a thought.
Yeah, what Kralin says!!
Agree with Kralin Cookie,Shaw this gw,Laporte gw 38.Or even another Saints defender gw38 ! 😉
Many thanks Kralin, Brooky & Zed.
Shaw was very much at the top of the 37 & 38 list though I’m pretty sure Quasimodo could score vs DDG right now.
Laporte & a Saint were also on the shortlist for 38 and funnily enough Kralin, PVA had crossed my mind as someone who can pop up on the last day – was it last season he did it or the one before?
Appreciate your thoughts.
Well, hasn’t seen this post before mine. It was last season that PVA did it!
*hadn’t!
If it’s just 38, a Saints defender (Valery).
For both, well you could do worse than a saints defender in 37 too but yeah hard to look past Laporte for both, though I can see them conceding in 37…
I can’t bring myself to even think about buying anyone from Utd, even with those fixtures.
127pts this week Now only 20K off my target which is to avoid this season being my worst ever in terms of OR… Think I can do it in two GWs, e.g. I am inevitable!
Nice one Zed.
I only managed 105pts this week. A season best for me.
Before I took the game seriously I had ranks in the one millions. In fact my first ever season, where I joined very late, I was ranked 2 million odd.
Hopefully your worst isn’t as bad as that.
Not sure where you are but hopefully not too big a swing will see you knock those places off.
Great score.
My worst ever season was last season 140K (or so) and now I’m 160K (or so)… My first season I was 2.5m or something like that because I joined in March I think, but I ain’t taking that into account, why would you as you’ve only played 20-30% of the season…
I had some dim memory of you being a lot more consistent than me, and if 140k is your worst then that’s very good indeed.
Here’s my season history, the first one being the season I started in March… I’m on a rather worrying downward spiral though, the last two being the worst, I hope it’s not a kind of consistency that continues in such a downward trend…
Great stuff Zed.
