Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 38. That’s your lot folks! Well, it will be in about 3 hours anyway… GW38 always seems so brutal. We are used to game-weeks spanning 3-4 days, sometimes even 6 or 7. And then when it really comes down to the final reckoning we are all lined up in front of the FPL firing squad and shot at for 90 short minutes as if we’d just been caught in Malaysia with a gram or two in our back pockets. And it’s a bit of an odd one to call as nearly all matters are sorted, barring a couple of highly unlikely goal difference swings. And we are talking huge ones here – a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea 16-0 win. And a Saints loss, a Swansea win and a 10 goal swing. The Saints do however face Man City so you just never know! But being realistic it’s all done and dusted. The main talking points will probably centre around rotation and regardless of what nonsense the managers trotted out in their press conferences about ‘playing until the end with professionalism’ there will be rotation aplenty. There’s usually a fair few goals on the last day too. Here’s hoping your amongst them.

There’s unbelievable drama brewing up. FFF is so sad to have lost us that they’re putting out messages that a last minute bid has been made to keep the site afloat.
It’s all starting to take on the flavour of the transfer window deadline day.
I’ve got an uneasy feeling the whole FFF is closing is a spoof just to smoke out those of us who’ll jump ship at the first opportunity.
Welcome Carolyn! I’d imagine you’ll find it quieter than usual at the minute, but we’ll soon have the World Cup fantasy to keep us all busy!

How do you get on with all these new crazy rules?
@Ivan, sorry we changed articles and I somehow missed this comment. I understand the rules perfectly but I sometimes don’t have the time to check every line-up that comes out and that will hurt my rank over the long haul. That is the problem I have had. If MLS was more like the EPL where you kinda of know what times the games are at and the majority are at 3pm on Saturday it be easy to keep up with. The fact that they barely ever schedule a game at the same time as another or that their twitter handles don’t ever tweet their team sheets on time makes it really difficult sometimes.
Yes, I agree with all that. The new rolling transfers are good idea but the time zones are real problem. I am fine when most of the games starting evenings or around midnight UK time. When it comes to games from the West Coast it is almost impossible. Like last night the round started with Vancouver vs San Jose at 3.30 AM. I just picked few players cause both are on a double (the worst possible DGW) and left them on the bench for a switcheroo. Even you can see the lineups an hour before any game this one was far too late to stay up.
Anyway, we had a brief chat with Inittowinit and he has agreed that we can reintroduce Fantasy MLS on here as you know the Fantasy Football First site is now closed.
You do a great job with them articles, will be cool to have mls back on here.
Thanks Mito, will try the first article on here next Tuesday for GW 13. Because MLS ha, ha, decided for a first time to have a game on Monday evening instead to finish the round on Sunday as usual.

There isn’t at the moment Carolyn no, well not that I’m aware of anyway, although be aware I’m not the sharpest tool in the IT toolbox!
I think there was once but it was causing issues with IT – ie it forced him to do something.
Hi Carolyn, there was one but we’ve just removed it in preparation for these new GDPR rules. All that sort of stuff is a minefield right now so we’ve stepped away and we are rebuilding from scratch to ensure we adhere with it all. Whether that particular feature comes back or not I’m not sure yet as in all honesty we had just 16 people subscribed to it so it wasn’t really a big deal.
As soon as FIFA pull their finger out we will have an intro article up and then there’ll be a new one on the groups ever couple of days or so.
In the FPL season we have a new article up pretty much every day from Monday until Saturday morning.

Yes, funnily enough I was planning to have a breather and not play fantasy world cup this time round. A couple of reasons, first being to have a fantasy breather after what was quite a challenging season. The lack of a template side made it an enjoyable challenge as a manager but boy it became draining doing a lot of RMTs over on FFF.
Secondly I’m the current world, Euro and league fantasy title holder at work and it would be ah tactful I think if I stood down from one of them.
Over on FFF it was a bit like a morgue during the close season. It always made me chuckle actually. Up to GW38 it would be fairly hectic, then a few posts saying how well (or badly) people had done, then just static until we were able to build the sides for GW1.
It’s not unlike that here Kralin to be honest and I’d echo your thoughts on a draining season.
I’ll prob just watch the comp unfold, I want to feel refreshed for August and a break from all fantasy should sort that out.
Sounds like you have good form in these summer comps though – Init-like…..maybe you should play and give him some competition!!
I remember the last WC fantasy the best formation was 5-4-1. Defenders (and defensive midfielders) were getting amazing points. If memory serves I think the Iranian goalie did relly well, or a goalie from one of the real minnow teams.
I had Luiz for the semi-final carnage versus Germany and he still brought in 6 or 7 points (so maybe a point for each time he lifted the ball from the back of the net).
But all that aside, no, just want to sit back and enjoy the games (though I daresay ‘enjoy’ and ‘watch England’ will not appear in the same sentence).
The fact that I can remember Luiz’s semi-final points worries me slightly.

I’ll not say who of course as that’d be unfair but I’m sure they will show themselves in good time. It’s great to see the warm welcome you’ve all had but I expected no different. Our friend Mosc 1938 is based in Florida. That doesn’t mean he is not up every Saturday on a matchday at 6 AM his time to be ready for the EPL games. Just like many of us who play MLS have to stay up in the small hours to catch up with the games in USA.
Inittowinit its ok amigo, truth is Mito had a thing for me once when he was on holiday at Maesteg holiday park , but I was engaged to Dolly at the time, you know what south americans are like when they are scorned n wronged, he is just bitter
