Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 38. That’s your lot folks! Well, it will be in about 3 hours anyway… GW38 always seems so brutal. We are used to game-weeks spanning 3-4 days, sometimes even 6 or 7. And then when it really comes down to the final reckoning we are all lined up in front of the FPL firing squad and shot at for 90 short minutes as if we’d just been caught in Malaysia with a gram or two in our back pockets. And it’s a bit of an odd one to call as nearly all matters are sorted, barring a couple of highly unlikely goal difference swings. And we are talking huge ones here – a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea 16-0 win. And a Saints loss, a Swansea win and a 10 goal swing. The Saints do however face Man City so you just never know! But being realistic it’s all done and dusted. The main talking points will probably centre around rotation and regardless of what nonsense the managers trotted out in their press conferences about ‘playing until the end with professionalism’ there will be rotation aplenty. There’s usually a fair few goals on the last day too. Here’s hoping your amongst them.

        • There’s unbelievable drama brewing up. FFF is so sad to have lost us that they’re putting out messages that a last minute bid has been made to keep the site afloat.

          It’s all starting to take on the flavour of the transfer window deadline day.

          I’ve got an uneasy feeling the whole FFF is closing is a spoof just to smoke out those of us who’ll jump ship at the first opportunity.

          I believe you and me are still the only ones who represent UK in the Fantasy MLS Insider H2H.
          How do you get on with all these new crazy rules?

        • @Ivan, sorry we changed articles and I somehow missed this comment. I understand the rules perfectly but I sometimes don’t have the time to check every line-up that comes out and that will hurt my rank over the long haul. That is the problem I have had. If MLS was more like the EPL where you kinda of know what times the games are at and the majority are at 3pm on Saturday it be easy to keep up with. The fact that they barely ever schedule a game at the same time as another or that their twitter handles don’t ever tweet their team sheets on time makes it really difficult sometimes.

        • Yes, I agree with all that. The new rolling transfers are good idea but the time zones are real problem. I am fine when most of the games starting evenings or around midnight UK time. When it comes to games from the West Coast it is almost impossible. Like last night the round started with Vancouver vs San Jose at 3.30 AM. I just picked few players cause both are on a double (the worst possible DGW) and left them on the bench for a switcheroo. Even you can see the lineups an hour before any game this one was far too late to stay up.
          Anyway, we had a brief chat with Inittowinit and he has agreed that we can reintroduce Fantasy MLS on here as you know the Fantasy Football First site is now closed.

        • Thanks Mito, will try the first article on here next Tuesday for GW 13. Because MLS ha, ha, decided for a first time to have a game on Monday evening instead to finish the round on Sunday as usual.

        • Hi Kralin, quite a few others I recognise from FFF have registered either last night or today but haven’t commented yet. I’ll not say who of course as that’d be unfair but I’m sure they will show themselves in good time. It’s great to see the warm welcome you’ve all had but I expected no different. The two communities have always been very similar in that respect.

        • the two accounts thing was down to the site crashing – I had to set up a new account after being unable to log in. All part of the fun and games.

          Taffy Tractor was one of the greatest guys around. I just don’t know what happened. It has been a long time since he posted anything on FFF or Twitter. I hope everything is OK….

          Our friend Mosc 1938 is based in Florida. That doesn’t mean he is not up every Saturday on a matchday at 6 AM his time to be ready for the EPL games. Just like many of us who play MLS have to stay up in the small hours to catch up with the games in USA.

        • Inittowinit its ok amigo, truth is Mito had a thing for me once when he was on holiday at Maesteg holiday park , but I was engaged to Dolly at the time, you know what south americans are like when they are scorned n wronged, he is just bitter smile
