Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4. No Friday fixture this time, but a big slate of games on Saturday to get the GW going. In all there is 8 fixtures and kicking it off with a lunch time affair is Southampton hosting the crap again Manchester United.

That early game is followed by six 3pm games. We have Lampard’s boys taking on Lundstram’s crew, along with that we also see Palace vs Villa and Newcastle vs Watford. Simultaneously we also get Leicester hosting Bournemouth, Man City taking apart Brighton and West Ham versus Norwich in the battle of the cheap strikers. The day is then closed out by Burnley vs Liverpool which should see 21 players inside the Clarets’ penalty area most of the game.

Sunday brings us the remaining two fixtures. The early game sees Everton play host to Wolves, should be an interesting game between one team who doesn’t know how to attack versus a team who is too tired to attack. The late game has the best game on paper of the game-week. Arsenal (just lost to LFC) takes on Spurs (just lost at home to Toon) in what should help us to start to figure out which team will finish 20 points behind second place in 3rd and which team will finish 25 points behind second place in 4th.

The games in full…

Ok guys, any views on these moves:
Kane and wan b to kun and pieters, 2 fts.

73 points total for me after bonuses, pleased with my WC team.

Might be too difficult fitting in Salah, Sterling, KDB and Kun but it’s such a nice dream.

I don’t mind this draft, but double Norwich attack just feels wrong.

I’m trying to do the same thing Gears but I am finding it just unbalances the rest of the team. You are depending on those same 4 players to do the business for you every GW.

I think if I were to go for that quartet I’d try it via a 5/3/2 or 5/4/1, something like:

      • Gear says:

It’s food for thought. I’m reluctant to play 5 at the back though, I normally don’t even like 4 at the back!

        • Kralin says:

I’ve found it’s the only formation that gives a modicum of balance to having such big hitters (either at the back or front). Lundstram plays as a midfielder (as does TAA, arguably) so you could suspend your disbelief and pretend you’re playing a 3/5/2.

This formation’s faults were discussed at length before the season started.

I’m – fairly unsuccessfully so far, it must be said – playing four at the back at the moment though see comments above about self-delusion, etc.

        • Gear says:

Hmm, that’s a good argument for 5 at the back. You’ve more got me thinking about a virtual 3-6-1…

Your season will turn though, just got to keep plugging away!

        • Kralin says:

It’s amazing how hard it can be to break the shackles sometimes. ‘But he’s a defender really’ we say to ourselves despite the fact he’s playing in midfield every week.

I’m enjoying this season: it’s a good challenge. And will be satisfying if I turn it round. And bad GW do have their comic benefit – plus they keep you grounded.

      • Gavy says:

Hey gear, matip would be a worry. I think Gomez will be in the mix soon Adrián is a safer way to the pool defense. Then use Pieters for your Burnley cover. This would give you 0.8 – every little helps.

What about Mane as Pool-cover? Then use the mil somewhere else

Is Jota dropping or Barnes rising? Can’t afford any price changes, and have 2FTs so think I could burn one transfer now and keep the other in case of emergencies… :uknw:

    Evening guys,
Another rubbish gameweek, plummeting down the ranks – great stuff. Looking to get rid of Wan B and Rashford for a -4. Thinking one of these combos:

    1. Firmino and Zinchenko / Walker
    2. Aubameyang and Pieters

Did look at Aguero, but that would have left me ÂŁ3.8m to get a defender and unfortunately the price changes haven’t revealed any ÂŁ3.8m benchwarmer defenders yet!

Current bunch of jokers is below.

      Kralin says:

Loads of alternatives for Rashford, you’re almost spoilt for choice there. Haller, Barnes et al. TAA could come back for W-B.

    • 167.2

Might be worth getting one though and going with essentially 14 players? When do you ever have to reach for that 3rd spot on the bench. I appreciate it narrows your rotation options but having Digne and VVD you’d play those two every week regardless of fixtures and you just make sure the other two rotate ok. Just a thought anyway.

      • theswirly says:

Sorry, Init, I don’t understand – there aren’t any ÂŁ3.8m defenders at the mo and so I can’t afford Aguero by taking out just Wan B. I could, perhaps, go against the flow and take out Mount as well on a -8 for, say, Ceballos and then stick Rico in, leaving ÂŁ0.3m. But then that’s a -8 and I’d be taking out a decent player!

      GoalMachine says:

KDB > Dilva and Rashford > Aguero? I know at this stage none like to sacrifice KDB, but to maintain the balance – this could be an option.

King Kun saved the day :worthy:

Decided to WC before this GW mainly due to Kane, I know that I spent ages working on my GW1 team and I held Kane as long as I could and after his first GW score I thought it was the right decision, but there are deeper issues at Spurs, I wanted to wait until after the internationals but I just couldn’t.

I am hoping for no injuries and also that Hanely is ok as I need a ÂŁ4m DEF, I was disappointed Rico didn’t play.
