Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4. No Friday fixture this time, but a big slate of games on Saturday to get the GW going. In all there is 8 fixtures and kicking it off with a lunch time affair is Southampton hosting the crap again Manchester United.

That early game is followed by six 3pm games. We have Lampard’s boys taking on Lundstram’s crew, along with that we also see Palace vs Villa and Newcastle vs Watford. Simultaneously we also get Leicester hosting Bournemouth, Man City taking apart Brighton and West Ham versus Norwich in the battle of the cheap strikers. The day is then closed out by Burnley vs Liverpool which should see 21 players inside the Clarets’ penalty area most of the game.

Sunday brings us the remaining two fixtures. The early game sees Everton play host to Wolves, should be an interesting game between one team who doesn’t know how to attack versus a team who is too tired to attack. The late game has the best game on paper of the game-week. Arsenal (just lost to LFC) takes on Spurs (just lost at home to Toon) in what should help us to start to figure out which team will finish 20 points behind second place in 3rd and which team will finish 25 points behind second place in 4th.

The games in full…

Best replacement for Perez? I got 7.1m to spend and already got Mount.

Good evening, lads! Another bad week for my team, prices are going crazy, and I have a few problems to deal with, so maybe it’s time for surgery..
It’s a bit of a pickle though because I like the core of my team and I am not sure whether WC it’s worth it or not. This is my current team with 1.4 ITB and 1 FT. Any help would be appreciated :scratch_one-s_head:

      WC team in mind..

      • Raziel says:

If I were you I’d pick a premium striker if I would wildcard. So you can exchange between Kun, Kane, Abu and Lac if needed. Premium striker is the only thing I see missing your teams.

        • Tornado says:

Thanks for taking the time, Raziel! I am not very keen on Kane atm, as he doesn’t look like Kane we know from few seasons ago. I know he’ll get there sooner rather than later but just not yet. Emery is pissing me off, as he is trying to do his best Pep’s impression and rotating his team almost as bad as Ole does. I’d love to have Kun but in order to have him I need to ditch Sterling, otherwise my team looks very unbalanced. That’s why I don’t know what to do :help:

I’m not convinced you need to WC that team. Probably just get Barnes for Jota. The premium striker spot is the only issue really, as per Raz.

      • bees393 says:

Why is a premium striker necessary if he has Salah and Sterling to Captain? Please could you explain so I can learn from you?

        • Kralin says:

They probably mean that one option is to get a premium striker if wildcarding. That would be at the expense of KdB though, as having that premium quartet takes nearly half the budget.

        • Smash says:

Yeah must be I’m not sure that’s the best route to take as I have Sterling, Salah and KDB. So many different ways of playing the game

        • Kralin says:

Yes. And for people who started with Kane (alongside the two other premiums) then the switch to Kun was an obvious(ish) – or easy – one.

I’m loving it at the moment. It’s challenging.

Instead of that premium quartet I’d compromise with David Silva probably instead of KdB.

The fun will be when / if the premium defenders put in a couple of monster weeks.

        • Smash says:

Yeah exactly. Yeah I think I’ll ditch one of my premium four defenders well at least downgrade to get some Chelsea coverage in my team. Most likely Robbo. As it’s been ok just not spectacular returns from them

Thank you all for the replies. It’s loooong break now, so many things could happen. I will think about premium striker, David Silva, KDB etc and will try to make some decent decisions.
PS: Perhaps, I wouldn’t have been that disappointed with my team performance if I’d chosen my captain right, at least once :slaphead:

Never has it been so important as in this season to be patient, do your research, (hopefully) choose well and then stick to your guns. We won’t have a WC every week…

    Hi all,

Fairly OK start to the season but not set the world alight.

Could you help me out with some views on the below please?

Ultimately I want to shift to 3-5-2 I think… I remain unsure on two Liverpool defenders and Ceballos whilst feel like I am missing out on TAA, Abraham, Haller, Mount, Aguero etc

However, this team looks alright for next game week! 6 players playing Norwich or Newcastle.

Is it time to wildcard and rebalance? Or just use a 1FT and 0.6m to do something like:

    upgrade Ceballos to Mount
Robbo to TAA or down to Soyuncu
    Barnes to Tammy? (Surely not)

What would you guys be doing?

    Thanks

      DMC says:

Hi Beno – this team will score big when your defenders deliver, but I dont think that will happen enough times to alllow the two budget striker route. Of course you need to WC to change the structure but perhaps not yet given their current form (the attackers’).

    Ok start to the season.
Made the mistake of ditching Aguero a couple of weeks ago in favour of Sterling, which I think backfired. Currently 50 points behind the leader, and am sitting in 10th place. Not overly worried at this stage as still got 34 weeks to go, with all chips and the wildcard.
Have 2 transfers going into the international break, and 0.9m in the bank.
I need to ditch Perez. Wasted player as not doing anything in my eyes. Think BSilva is another player I may need to think about..
Have thought about Haller, but fixtures arent brilliant after Villa, but know he is guaranteed to play.
    Do I need Kane/Aguero upfront?
    Any suggestions of possible transfers?

    MarkGL says:

So last weekend after Harry Kane ruined my weekend I took a hit and transferred out Kane and Rashford before the Spurs game had even finished…

The two players I brought in… Aguero and Abraham!

The week before I obsessed over my wildcard which failed miserably but when I take a rage hit before a gameweek even finishes I get 45 points from two forwards!

FPL is a funny old game.
