Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4. No Friday fixture this time, but a big slate of games on Saturday to get the GW going. In all there is 8 fixtures and kicking it off with a lunch time affair is Southampton hosting the crap again Manchester United.

That early game is followed by six 3pm games. We have Lampard’s boys taking on Lundstram’s crew, along with that we also see Palace vs Villa and Newcastle vs Watford. Simultaneously we also get Leicester hosting Bournemouth, Man City taking apart Brighton and West Ham versus Norwich in the battle of the cheap strikers. The day is then closed out by Burnley vs Liverpool which should see 21 players inside the Clarets’ penalty area most of the game.

Sunday brings us the remaining two fixtures. The early game sees Everton play host to Wolves, should be an interesting game between one team who doesn’t know how to attack versus a team who is too tired to attack. The late game has the best game on paper of the game-week. Arsenal (just lost to LFC) takes on Spurs (just lost at home to Toon) in what should help us to start to figure out which team will finish 20 points behind second place in 3rd and which team will finish 25 points behind second place in 4th.

The games in full…

The ony class act I can see on the field for Utd is WanB. His commitment is unquestionnable. But, sadly rest of the squad, I have doubts.

As we have 30 min.s left – may be you can give some ideas about WC.

    (1) What is a good time to WC? Like do you have a specific strategy or reason (e.g. structural change, fixture swing etc.)? I am planning to do it now (not 100% convinced) – but guess IB is a good time and lot depends on current round. Alternatively I can pick IB2 (Gw9) for WC.

    (2) If you WC now – what formation will you primarily look for?
    (a) 4-4-2 which is the ongoing formation for most with Greenwood as 3rd striker (non-playing)
    (b) 3-4-3 with 3 cheap forwards (there are plenty in mid-price brackets)
    (c) 1 premium forward + Salah + Sterling and then try to fit the rest as the best as you can – I am not so much in support of it as I could not fit a decent team with a 11-12m forward.

Hi GM, I tend try and wait until the team is falling to hits with injuries and suspensions. Last season though I waited and waited and it didn’t happen so I ended up using at the last minute and basically it was just for the sake of it. As a result I’ve used it early this time in a more aggressive fashion to jump on some form players.

The Site Team used strategy C from those and it looked decent enough.

I think that I will play it now since I want to shift a lot of money from my defense to my attack. I originally had 2 Pool+Zichenko+Walter Peters in defense, and Vardy+King+Westwood in attack.

And my team will look something like the site team, except that I have KdB in the midfield (+Salah, Sterling, Cantwell, Dedondeker).
In other words, I have KdB instead of Mount, but then Dedondeker instead of McGinn, and a 4×4.5 defense (no Digne or Zichenko).
So it would be a C!

(And 2 wekks of tinkering will certainly move things around! smile )

Well I’m glad I have no United players at least
