We doubt there will be many FPL fans left now then, such was the excitement and intrigue of the new ‘Nations League’, or whatever it is called. 16 groups of teams, some in groups of 4, some in 3, some can get promoted, some can get relegated, some can get into the Euros but only if they haven’t already and if they have then someone else can instead, who did worse. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…

Just in case anyone is indeed still interested then… FPL IS BACK! Thank goodness.

Saturday will see the majority of our FPL interest hit the field. ‘Super Sunday’ looks like it’s having a breather and is followed closely by its cousin ‘Mundane Monday’…

Spurs and Liverpool get us underway at lunchtime in what should be a very tasty appetiser. 3pm then sees Bournemouth and Leicester no doubt sharing a fair few goals, Chelsea probably starving Cardiff of any, Huddersfield hoping that Zaha’s brother doesn’t actually make a habit of DM’ing correct injury news about his sibling, Man City struggling to derail the Mitro train before slamming in a shed load of their own to render it unimportant anyway and then Newcastle and Rafa setting up a cricket formation around Cech with a silly point, silly mid off, silly mid on and a short leg. High flying Watford then host Man United in the evening game to see Saturday out for us, and just perhaps Jose too.

Wolves and Burnley is the early ‘Super Sunday’ game. Is it possible for a team to actually concede less than zero goals? We may well find out. Everton and West Ham will provide your late Sunday ‘entertainment’.

The lack of any tangible FPL involvement in the post Saturday TV games continues through to Monday for the south coast derby between Southampton and Brighton. Even if you don’t actually own Ings you’ll probably be praying for him to score by this point just so you can pretend to have something to say about it all!

  1. Here we go, split averages….

  2. What’s that web site that shows bonus points for players changing in real time? Hope everyone having a good week!!

  3. Early thoughts what to do here. Not making any moves yet though. Bench looks very weak. One free transfer and 0.2 in the bank

    • Wally to Maddison or Moura?

      • Yeah thinking Wally to Richarlson or Maddison

        • I’d get Richarlison! Maddison was lucky to get anything, if Vardy was on the pitch he would have taken the pen… I still don’t see the fuss about him really, surely Richarlison is better?

        • Maddison sounded like he was involved in everything and unlucky not to get a few assists.
          MOTD might echo this

        • Will probably be Richarlson

    • The weak bench isn’t that bad as Ings’ll return in week 7.

Richarlison or Maddison for me – the former edging it slightly.

It’s either that or go sub 6m territory, the land of Neves and Seri, to move Pedro on for David Silva perhaps. However I’ve a grim feeling that punt may not be affordable.

  4. 66 with 4 to play.
Hoping Klopp won’t rest Salah for the Saints game as that would be my Cappo choice next week.

    • I don’t think he will as it’s Tuesday to Saturday and then nothing for him until the following Saturday. He won’t play in the EFL tie in the midweek.

      • Might be an unpopular Cappo choice now too

        • That’s usually how it goes. He’ll be sold hand over fist for Hazard too. Who will also see a capo spike. Fraser will also be being bought willy nilly as we speak.

      • I’m thinking the migration from Salah to Hazard may well work out well for people captaining Salah next week. May backfire, of course. Haz has got a nice fixture.

    • Big score mate. Well done

  5. Planning on doing an early minus 4 before price changes.
Thinking these 3 out for hazard, Fraser and a 7.2m or under striker. Is Zaha the obvious choice?

    • Or Mitrovic?

    • MelonCat, do you think that’s wise with the midweek games ahead?

    • Melon that’d mean 6 players with European games to hurdle. That’s over half your starting 11 next week. Can you not wait?

      • Its early doors though Init.

      • Possibly, just worried will be more limited for choice, think I have 0.2m to play with currently if zaha is the chosen striker

        • Well Melon, I am not the Wolf of Wall Street but that could turn out to be a false economy for the sake of -1or -2 loss in price. I still remember few years ago when Kun scored a brace on Saturday afternoon I rushed to get him straight away. Three days later he broke his leg at the CL.

    • I wouldn’t go this early with so much European football ahead of us this week (and the GW not completed).

  6. 65 with Neves and hopefully Wally to play. I’ve had worse weeks I guess.
