Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!
The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!
Deep breaths.
Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –
Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.
Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.
Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.
Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.
West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.
Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea
Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

So had a pretty poor week. Banked on Ali as Capo, thinking the mid week rest will help him to explode.
Have hit the WC. Please have a look and let me know what ya’ll think. Tempted to take out Morata for Jesus and go double City as I’m certain they’ll bag loads against Palace.
Also worried about lack of Spurs cover, I know you cant have everyone. But I’m tempted to bring in Kane for this week as I think he’ll do better in the away games this season (not sure how though as he’s expensive)
Any thoughts much appreciated!
Similar to my WC team.
Bringing in Simpson in a few weeks once fixtures turn. Also taking Naughton as his price will rise.
I have went for a hibrid 3 in the middle plus two 4.5s (Carroll and Obiang – price set to rise on Obiang)
Don’t see much between Jesus and Aguero so saving 1m.
Kane’s last chance for me and I see Rashford as a great third striker with two heavy hitters in Kane and Jesus (with good fixtures).
See my WC team below.
WC Team ….any thoughts would be appreciated
Jones Davies Mee Naughton Mbemba
Micky Erikson Salah Carroll Obiang
Jesus Kane Rashford
No one seems to be talking about Rashford and I see him now as a regular started for United. Lukaku is not passing the eye test during games which is why I am dropping him. Kane has two more weeks or getting punted! 433 or 343 most weeks depending on Carroll/Mee/Nauhgton/Mbemba Fixtures. Like having City, Unite and Spurs Cover (Ederson, Jones and Davies).
Sorry keepers – Ederson and Elliot
I think the thing with Rashford is the fear of game time? Seems as though Jose can’t decide between Martial/Rashford. Although Rashford is getting the nod for now.
I get the impression that Jesus is in a run of form for now but Aguero will most likely score more over the course of the season and has also just come into form with that hat trick.
Team looks good though. Most teams are pretty similar apart from the attack
I feel I need Aguero in my team
I’ve gone and done it. Aguero in. A bit hasty, but I hope he gets back to being prolific. To do it I’ve got rid of Eriksen, King and Lukaku, but added Morata and Ramsey. Could be a useless sideways move (or worse!) and waste of a transfer. :s
Best of luck Shrizz, team looks strong!
Seems like a risky move. You took out Eriksen (in excellent form and with brilliant fixtures) and Lukaku (who hasnt disappointed the owners yet).
Good luck. I like Ramsey though. Could be the next bandwagon.
Question – If you WC and keep changing it day by day to suit price changes can you make values through out the week before you select the desired team you want (ending up with a larger team budget)?
Ranger Yes but best to do it over IB gives you more time to watch price changes
Thanks mate….graduall getting better at this game haha
I am a member of the 100 club for the first time this season. Went from 2m to 400K, thanks mainly to Aguero then Lukaku & Mkhi. Should I transfer out Lukaku for Kane?
Chris No Luk in form could score against any one at present;
Oh Chris forget to say excellent rank mate keep it going 😉
Yeah don’t think I’d be letting go of Lukaku
Thanks Silvers! Yeah Smash he is in decent form but Spurs have great fixtures
