Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!
The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!
Deep breaths.
Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –
Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.
Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.
Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.
Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.
West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.
Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea
Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

Is there a chance aguero could be rested this weekend against palace.? They play shaktar following week in champions league then Chelsea away. Never know with pep. He likes to rotate.
Matt
It really wouldn’t surprise me!!
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
Real possibility Shane.
I would think he’ll play some part though.
ChrisOllie25
He’s in red hot form, I can’t see him being rested
Eagle
Hey guys. 1FT 0 ITB. Lack of City offense really punished me this week. I really want to bring in Aguero but in order to do that i need to get rid of Kane or Lukaku. Probably letting go of Kane. Either I do that or I will activate my wildcard and make general fixes to my team. I’m Posting my team before and after possible WC. What you all think?
Eagle
Team if i activate my WC
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
Eagle
As I’ve done, if Firmino goes for Aguero abd you downgrade Alli, how much would you have for a replacement?
Eagle
If i take out Firminho and Alli i would have £6.6 for a mid with Aguero. So the forwards would be Lukaku, Kane and Aguero.
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
What about Ritchie or Albrighton then?
Matt
+1 I was about to say Ritchie
Smash10
From what I’ve seen I like the look of a Richarlson in that bracket. He could have had a few more goals
Eagle
GP – I only have 1FT so those 2 moves are for a -4pt hit. The midfielders would then be: Ritchie, Groß, Mooy and Mhiki with Carroll on bench. Too much budget midfielders but I guess that’s the price to pay for the strong forwards. Nice suggestion GP. I sort of like it I will keep that in mind.

Eagle, turns out we’ve been having the exact same discussion! I’m pretty sure I’m ditching Firmino and Alli on mine. I was debating whether to switch Lukaku and Kun a few times over the coming weeks or indeed losing Kane but what the heck, may as well keep / get all 3 I suppose while we can. It’d be sofa time anytime one of them plays, not so much the case with Alli.
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
Come on in Init. Plenty of room for a little one :say-what:
inittowinit
Turns out that’s been Elle’s life motto!
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
That was a revelation!
I’m unsurprised however.

I can see Kane really hurting a lot of people this week. Spurs seem to be playing better away. He’s got 5 in 5 vs West Ham. West Ham have looked pretty poor, and, from what I’ve seen, Kane has been playing pretty well. I’m really tempted to cappo him, but I know I’ll bottle it and give it to Kun.
banjomaker
Plus at least Kane is guaranteed to play!!! 😉
Eagle
Would you do it for a hit though? Or just WC and fix the rest of the team. That strike force would be awesome though, no doubt.
inittowinit
You could realistically justify either there looking at the 2.
Neilos
Guy’s thinking to wildcard. Thoughts please
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
What’s your original squad like Neilos?
Neilos
Hey GP here’s the original
banjomaker
I actually don’t mind this. It seems there’s a lot of panic Kun WC’s, me being one of them!
The Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
I don’t think you need to wildcard.
Neilos
Or kdb to Silva and firmino to jesus?
banjomaker
I’m not sure 10.5m on double Southampton defense is a good move. They’ve been pretty uninspiring with some really nice opening fixtures. Lack of Liverpool attack could hurt. And I personally don’t like the Jesus / Kun double up, but that could pay off big time! Other than that I love it 😉
Neilos
Thanks Banjo. Switched up the back to this. What do you think
