Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6. Choo choo, all aboard the Kun train… Best hope he starts then or there will be fantasy managers throwing themselves under it at about one minute past 2pm today! Quite why a hat-trick last week indicates another one imminently we aren’t sure but let’s see what happens. It’s a bit of a strange FPL week as we actually have 8 games today (Saturday), and then just the 1 on both Sunday and Monday.

We begin with a London derby as West Ham host Spurs at lunchtime, in what has in recent past been a title decider.

3pm gets busy then with no less than 6 games on the go with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Man United all featuring.

Saturday is rounded off with Liverpool visiting Leicester.

Sunday’s lonely game sees Brighton host Newcastle at 4pm. And sees the Toon fans getting home on Monday morning at some point, if they are lucky. Wonderful planning from the PL again!

We close the week out with Arsenal hosting West Brom at 8pm on Monday.

We love to hear how you are doing in FPL terms but also how you think the games are going so please feel free to post anything you like in the comments below.

  1. So, for a little fun, whats your worst transfer this season?

Mine has to be bringing Shelvey in as his ban lifted, expecting him to walk back into the side, only to see him benched ever since, lol

    • Well I’ve had Ritchie in all his blank weeks and not for his good weeks. Yeah I bought him back in this week. Annoying because I wanted Richarlson but was 0.1 short

    • Bringing in Daley Blind as my united defensive cover instead of Jones and missing out on 15/16 points in the process.

Not really a transfer but waiting until GW8 to bring in Morata and Azpi because their fixtures weren’t great till then…hit the WC yesterday out of anger to bring them in now

    • Almost certainly putting Ince in at the start. And still having him now! Just never had a chance to remove him as I’ve always had more important priorities. Every time someone mentions the word Wildcard I think of one player I’d splurge it to just remove!

Don’t know if you saw the game today but Shelvey was actually really good when he came on. Couldn’t have been more involved if he tried. He’s a really good player. Just a shame his personality and attitude are abysmal!

Everything that is right and wrong with that bloke was encapsulated in 20 odd minutes today. Right from them capturing his attitude towards Rafa when getting instructions on the bench to him arguing with the ref about a blatant foul he’d committed at the end. If the bloke had a brain and canned the attitude he’d be some player.

Oh, and back to the actual question – Lejeune wasn’t great either!

      • After having Ince at the start and watching him play twice was too much. I had to get rid purely for my own sanity he’s awful

        • I think I’m in denial with him now, I just ignore the fact that he’s there where I log in smile

        • Prob the way to go. I’m certainly doing that with Carroll and RLC currently

      • Lol the guy has attitude alright, think Rafa couldn’t change the team due to two wins, he gets 1/2 more weeks to see if he starts if not, i’ll move him on.

      • Spot on about Shelvey, Init. I remember him getting into it with Fergie as he was leaving the field after being red carded when he was still playing for Liverpool. He could be a really good player some day but he needs to grow up and lose the attitude. They were saying at the time of the Fegie incident it was because he grew up in a rough area or whatever, but you need to be able to control yourself when you’re playing at this level. He’s only letting himself down and holding himself back by letting his temper rule him. Smashing haircut though! laugh

    • Hey Mutts

I haven’t actually transferred anyone ‘in’ yet who’s let me down or could be termed a complete failure.

Having Mason as a 4.0 benchie who I thought had a sneak of playing was misjudged but hardly a hanging offence.

    • Not exactly a transfer but starting the season with two 4.5m mids wasn’t my best idea. I’ve now got three of them smile

    • Hey Mutley, great question. I got sick of all my ML rivals scoring big points with Ben Davies, so I saved up two transfers and brought him in to swiftly get benched in the 1st game I played him and then return a massive 1 point haul in the 2nd game. Stopped that bandwagon right in it’s tracks, have some of that boys! laugh

    • he was subbed in vs brighton. came in and did try to make things happen

  2. Is Jesus for Morata a silly move? I have Kun cover already, don’t think I need both. 😉

    • On the face of it it probably makes sense

      • It might not be great for this week Chelsea v City but long term I think it might pay off.

        • I’m pretty sure Chelsea will score past City though maybe not win

    • Make sense long term.

    • special

Not a silly move at all. Especially as you have Aguero.

I’d leave it for now though to see who lines up this week in the CL.

      • Thinking the same, wait til CL and see who gets rested. Thanks for the advice everyone!

  3. Hi, patience lost with Alonso, am thinking Alonso & Abraham to Vardy & Jones or Otamendi for -4, a good move?

    • A little knee-jerk i think Swampster.

Taking a longer term view at Chelsea’s fixtures, I would be holding on to any coverage of theirs I had.

      • Thanks, a little bit knee jerk, but is more about Vardy over Abraham than Alonso, or possibly Morata over Abraham and 4m def

        • If there were 4 striker spots, Vardy would be my 4th all day long. I look out for him every week with some sort of wistful nonsense! If you get what I mean. I’d take Morata over him.

  4. What should I do here? Just use a transfer or is my WC needed? Firmino and Jesus could cause me problems but can’t decide whether it’s worth going big up top and downgrade the midfield or keep a balanced team?

    • Worth a WC to this?

      • Or I could keep DDG and swap Ramsey for Richarlison. Any suggestions? Likely won’t be able to do much after tonight with price rises and falls so wondering whether it’s worth it?

        • Hi igy, this is how Raz started out, talking to himself and all that 😉 Actually though, it seemed to work out looking at his past ranks!

I don’t think it’s worth a WC just yet, for what it’s worth. You actually have a decent enough team for this week.

        • Haha thanks Init! It’s surprising how a conversation with yourself can soon lead to crazy things! My only concern is Romeu and Firmino likely to go down in price soon. With the big guns all heading for an increase I’m really going to struggle bringing them in down the line if they are must haves.

        • Igy, I have an almost identical front 8 to you – just Groß instead of Romeu. I looked at how to get 3 big strikers and also Coutinho in a found it just doesn’t work. The rest of the team is pretty thin and you’re still missing Kane so still don’t cover all bases. I had a stab at the team below but in the end just did Jesus > Morata and will probably hit the WC in the IB. Hopefully something will work itself out

  5. I want to transfer in in Morata for Firmino. I know City and Chelsea clash next but I really don’t se either side keeping a clean sheet and Firmino for me at the moment is not doing enough. Tips?

    • Could be a good call, morata is going to have a price increase for sure and the 3 games after he’s a shoe in for captain.
I’d love to get him in, but my too 3 are kane, lukaku and aguero and which ever I take out will go wild the game after lol

    • Salah & DDG > Coutinho & Fabianski

    • Do it?

  6. Hi this is the team for next week. I still have the 1 FT and 0.6 itb. I am looking to maybe move beady of fab. Reason to move beady low balled the last two weeks. And Fab is not getting enough game time. I’ll wait to see who starts for Chelsea in the CL. Open to ideas only I have is get in Rambo for fab. (Leaving no Chelsea cover)
