Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7. Your last chance for some FPL points before we go off again on another pointless international break and all your star players get to globe trot like carbon emissions are a thing of the past. GW7 spans just Saturday and Sunday this time and we begin with Spurs on the road (that’s good Spurs then) as they go to Huddersfield at lunchtime. We then have five 3pm kick-offs. None of which look particularly exciting if we are being totally honest! Man United hosting Palace may be for those who captained Lukaku, but then again who didn’t! Hence the lack of excitement…

The best game on Saturday (in theory) is being kept back until the evening and sees the current champs Chelsea host the probable next ones Man City. Or so it seems. You could probably have said the same this time last season. And been proven very wrong. Which makes it just the more intriguing this time.

Sunday is a veritable feast, at least compared to last week! Arsenal host Brighton in the early game, Koeman will hope that Niasse can keep him in a job a week longer in the 2.15pm one and then we round the week off with Liverpool going to Newcastle and the TV companies flogging the possibility of another 4-3 classic. Monkeys and typewriters and all that…

  1. 64 all in for me now where that hit button thinking Eriksen & either Simpson or Wimmer WHO to Silva & Stones or Monreal WHO or should I stick ;). Oh would be an 8 point hit

  2. Ello, Ello smile
    a poor week 44pts sad

    should i wildcard? team is

    Gomes/Fabianski
    Bertrand/Bailly/Daniels/Mee/Suttner
    Ali/Fabregas/Salah/Albrighton/Caroll
    Jesus/Lukaku/JRod

    2.1 ITB

    2 FT

    Thanks! smile

    • No need for WC. Ali to erikson, fabregas to sterling?

      • hmm dont i need to fit in kane?

  3. Nearly the end of the weekend, and I had a few requests to review how my use of the free hit went. Here goes:
Started the gameweek 7 on 379 pts. Finished on 459 (plus any bonus pts from todays games). 80+ haul.
Used the free hit to bring in
De gea, luk (already had mikki) replacing foster and kun
Monreal, kolasnic, ramsey (replaced cedric, ferminia and jones (thought injured))
Kane and trippier (replaced morata and davies)
    Coutinho (replaced salah)
    Ritchie (replaced mooey)

With the exception of Davies (who outperformed his replacement, but could afford him with the changes) I ended up 52 pts better off (i think). 6 goals scored vs 1. 4 clean sheets vs 2. 4 dream team v 1.

Hope that helps. Bu99ered now for the later fixtures but i think i will have to take the hit.

    • Well played!

      • Thanks B. A lot of luck there. Didnt expect trippier or monreal to score. They were in for CS, which they also delivered.

    • 86 pts after bonus added. Hope my fellow 24/7 contributors fared equally well.

      • 88 after bonuses great gw
Davis to Monreal was a lucky transfer

    • Great work analyst! Can’t really ask for much more than a 50 odd point upturn. Must represent a healthy jump in rank too?

58 was apparently the overall average from those who played that chip also this week. Not quite sure what they were doing with it if that’s all they got mind you but whatever!

  4. 44 only this week feel doing rage transfers if it weren’t for Morata’s injury would have already done it :/

    Thinking of Firmino -> Morata
    Luka -> Kane
    Ali -> Richarlison
    Leaves me with 0.5

    • Taking out Lukaku just before he faces Liverpool? Did you not see Liverpool against Newcastle?

      • Kane is hurting badly, thought could somehow cover him with Ali and Erik

Have wc too but with 2FTs think should sort it out. With City in such form Jesus out doesn’t make much sense to me

        • Does Firm/Mkhi/Alli > Kane/Fellaini/Couthino work? Obvious who the weak point is there but he should get plenty of game time for a few weeks and is certainly capable of scoring and assisting

        • Yes and it will be exact! Left with 0.0m but don’t know how I feel getting Fellaini besides it would make my mid too weak

        • I think I like Robbo’s idea better than your own one here Snookie.

        • I agree with Robbo

        • Smash! Did you ever answer me about GABO?!

        • Thought I said yes can do

        • You did indeed, sorry! Just starting to write the questions now.

  5. Thoughts on Salah and miki out for coutinio and sterling?

They are my 2 “big” midfielders along with Richie and 2 x 4.5’s

The moves give me enough to change one of the 4.5’s to doucoure
    .

    • Not for me. Salah still looks more likely for me to get the points over Coutinho. There’s no way Coutinho is going to score from 30 yards every week like the last 2 weeks

      • Didn’t see the game today. Only saw he scored again.

        • I think Coutinho, Salah and Mane are all decent options though to be fair

    • Hey hammers sounds like a good move have you got Luk as Utd cover ? Sterling does seem to be getting game time so go for it 😉

      • Yeah have got lukaku and miki seems to be going quiet.

      • Ima bit put off Sterling now Aguero’s injury ain’t serious

        • Yeah think he’s probably the 1st to make way when kun returns. Keep forgeting they’ve got the other silva as a 60mil sub too!

          Too many choices there

    • Leaves you relying on Pep’s whims a bit! Not sure it’s an overly necessary switch in all honesty hammers.

      • Think I’m getting blinkered by not liking having 2 x 4.5 mids. Never gone that route before and can see a way out with doucoure.

You’re probably right. No point throwing pts away with the IB coming up.

  6. Had a piss poor week on 39! Dropped kun to lacazette thinking he should score this weekend….hugely disappointed! So was thinking I need kane before I start falling behind. Cedric and lacazette out for Kane and a 4.0 defender? Or any other ideas.

    • Got 1.3 itb. Was also thinking of just upgrading the back line instead but wanted your thoughts

      • Lol. Think i did a similar thing to you! I need to get rid of Lacazette for Kane and someone else for £6.7M

    • You definitely need Kane somehow. Trouble with doing it that way is that you are then reliant on the same 3 defenders each week basically. One of which plays for Swansea. That’s unless Mbemba was out for a specific reason and will be back soon. Not heard on that one. You’ll need to wait on any Morata news anyway.
