Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7. Your last chance for some FPL points before we go off again on another pointless international break and all your star players get to globe trot like carbon emissions are a thing of the past. GW7 spans just Saturday and Sunday this time and we begin with Spurs on the road (that’s good Spurs then) as they go to Huddersfield at lunchtime. We then have five 3pm kick-offs. None of which look particularly exciting if we are being totally honest! Man United hosting Palace may be for those who captained Lukaku, but then again who didn’t! Hence the lack of excitement…

The best game on Saturday (in theory) is being kept back until the evening and sees the current champs Chelsea host the probable next ones Man City. Or so it seems. You could probably have said the same this time last season. And been proven very wrong. Which makes it just the more intriguing this time.

Sunday is a veritable feast, at least compared to last week! Arsenal host Brighton in the early game, Koeman will hope that Niasse can keep him in a job a week longer in the 2.15pm one and then we round the week off with Liverpool going to Newcastle and the TV companies flogging the possibility of another 4-3 classic. Monkeys and typewriters and all that…

Lol. Think i did a similar thing to you! I need to get rid of Lacazette for Kane and someone else for £6.7M

    Hey Lads,

Need to “downgrade” a bit so — Richarlison or Doucoure (or some other, max 6.2)? So I can get Kane! Both seem in form (Watford having a decent start though tough games coming up!).

Hey Sanchez, do you have Ritchie or Gross/B? Think I’d prefer either of those given the fixtures ahead.

      • FC Sanchez says:

Good call, Init! No I don’t. Hmm, maybe Ritchie!

        • inittowinit says:

I have both and don’t really expect much each week from either but for some reason I always expect more from GroBss than Ritchie, probably due to his positioning. I’d go for him I think. But as I say, and as you know, it’s a tertiary player so doesn’t really matter that much. Kane is the prize!

    Some weekly stats.

Average being the most pertinent I suppose but…

810 players in the top 10k needed a VC this week?! Who the hell did they Captain? smile

How did we all end up? 71 here and a decent green arrow.

Dang, Init, nice pointage and rank!!

      Kop Warrior says:

Ended up with 69(-4) myself. Another green arrow but that’s not saying much given my rank!
I’ve taken a few -4s of late so I need to get out of that habit. My plan all along was to WC this week but I’m not sure I will. Might just take a -4! smile

      • inittowinit says:

Been reviewing last seasons stats a bit in light of the same question Kop. It seems I WC’d in GW8 then, I can only assume that was an IB too, and I managed a small 27k rise that particular week. As you’d expect. I then managed to gradually fall 270,000 places over the next 9 weeks! I think I’ll possibly be keeping mine where it is. There’s a fair change in fixture priority this time though so it’ll be interesting to see if I still feel the same once I’ve written this weeks Fixtures Article.

Just checked the rankings. Into top 10k globally, 38 in the 24/7 league and top 20 west brom fans.

Never been this high, struggling to breath in such rarified heights.

66 here and a decent green arrow.I too was all set to wc this break but not sure now.Want to attack those City and Chelsea fixtures though !

      DMC says:

Hi init – that’s odd with the VC one. First thought was Firmino, but he came off the bench, so it has to be Kun! That actualy says a lot about the ranks at this point of the season, in the sense that we shouldn’t really bother with it (namely playing unnecessary WC) – it’s full of casuals up there and very few points separate #1 from #200000.
Anyway, ended up with 85 much appreciated points for my best gw yet this season and into top 30k where I have never been so early in the season. Happy days and a relaxed IB for me! Cheers

      • inittowinit says:

I’d say Kun too and 810 people who clearly aren’t playing or paying attention! Oh well, that’s 810 people we can hope to pass at some point! Good point on the chips too as they do create an unreal scenario – how many in that top slot are there as a result of simply splurging them all early? Probably a fair few. Last season said a lot in that respect for me as I was able to climb the ranks fairly easily once I deployed mine late on. Wouldn’t have seen those rises if others were doing the same but obviously the majority couldn’t as they’d already used them. Point being that I’m happy to ride a lower rank right now and use the chips when it’s appropriate to do so as opposed to chasing early doors.

      Red Robbo says:

68 (-4) which meant a jump of 500K places to the giddy heights of 1,356,423 overall. Still have my wildcard and now trying to work out when to use it, as I would probably only change 3 or 4 of my starting 11. Played it in GW14 last year and saw weeks of red arrows after. Might not bother this time out…

Thoughts on this potential wc team ? Really want to get some Chelsea and City into my team.If Morata is fit he would probably replace Jesus and Hazard could become Coutinho.

    • 118.1
      Brookyboy says:

Can rotate between 3-4-3,4-3-3 and 4-4-2 depending on fixtures.

    • 118.2
      Brookyboy says:

      Current team..2m itb.1 Ft.

    • 118.3
      inittowinit says:

This is the trouble with those 2 teams. There’s only really 4 players you’d hang your hat on to either produce or play regularly. And you have 3 of them. Morata is the other. I’d happily kill Erik off there to fit Morata in if possible. In place of Joselu. I’d defo be going big 3 up top if WC’ing now. Which is why I’m hesitant to do so myself as I already have the balance to do so.

      • Brookyboy says:

Hmmm yeah.Im not sure about this 3 big up top sketch.Jesus will be a rotation threat when Kun is back and Kun is an extra 1m which means you have to lose a big hitter from midfield.Morata is better value and has better fixtures than Lukaku as do Hazard and Silva.Eriksen i could potentially lose but Spurs are banging the goals in now and they have Bournemouth next, albeit at Wembley. Not a fan of Lacazette so that just kind of leaves Vardy who im not really liking.
If i keep my current team my first problem would be Firmino. To upgrade him to Morata or Jesus would mean a hit and leave me a weak midfield.Which again leaves me the choice of switching him to Vardy but not having any City or Chelsea. If you follow me. smile

        • Horse says:

Get some City and Chelsea defenders if you’re on WC

        • RedVT says:

I’ve been playing around with a power front 3 but I just don’t like the balance. The most I would probably do is get Vardy as a 3rd striker, but I’m not in love with having only 2 premium midfielders or a weakish defense. Think I like the idea of a better balanced team and some options to switch formations depending on fixtures.

    Horse says:

@Innit. Haha. You cracked me up with your comments about my missus. Well despite the obvious distraction you gave me some sound advice which has netted me 77 points this GW and lifted me up to 21K.
For the second time this season my back five all had returns. Lukaneku did the business too but all four of my midfield blanked.
I have wildcarded and am looking at a 433 formation. I think max value lies at the back and up top.

      inittowinit says:

      Did she enjoy the match?!

      • Horse says:

She loved it. Especially the atmosphere Hajduk were playing a smallish team from near Zagreb who brought few fans down from there. But the home team had a serious crew out. There were riot police, everyone was frisked on the way in to the ground but still the Ultras brought in flares to let off during the match. The atmosphere was similar to a Southampton or a Millwall match for Pompey but this was a very low key match for Hajduk and their fans are like this EVERY match and never stopped singing the whole match. Saying that they were really friendly to us. It was brilliant!!!

Hey guys, how’s it going? Looks like some good scores posted this week, well done! So what are people’s thoughts on Salah vs Coutinho? Salah used to be the best Liverpool player to have but with Coutinho back and looking great, would you put him above Salah now?
