Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8. It’s an early start this GW with a Friday kick-off and as ever with these things we hope you don’t join us for Live Match Chat with that sinking feeling of ‘why on earth have they posted Live Match Chat on a Friday night…’. And if you do (looking at you Raz!), don’t say we didn’t try to remind you as it was posted on each and every article this week at some point. Whether you made it in tact or not let’s crack on with the games.

Brighton have the early pleasure of a very much in-form West Ham coming to town on Friday evening. Saturday then sees us with five 3pm games beginning with a resurgent Burnley hoping to build on momentum at home to a struggling Huddersfield. Palace host Wolves in what should be an entertaining and close encounter, as should Leicester vs Everton. Spurs host Cardiff in what should by rights be a shellacking, or at least any Kane captainers will hope to be the case. Watford vs Bournemouth looks another one that is hard to call. Saturday evening may be the straw that finally breaks Jose’s back, and oh the irony if it is indeed Rafa who gets to waft it. Some stories you just can’t write… #here’s hoping

Sunday sees three games beginning with Mitro testing out Arsenal’s defensive resolve, followed by Saints trying and (probably) failing to blunt Hazard and co. Then it’s the game of the week at 4:30pm as Pep tries to exorcise his one real demon in English football thus far: Klopp.

    Jose rising from the dead?

That is what you call a comeback :smiling:

    Rosco says:

Proud of how our team played, Man Utd didn’t deserve the win. Fickle glory supporters and Jose deserve each other, hope they win nowt this season! Other than that I’m not bothered!

Oh Harry you troll. This might completely ruin my good start to this year sad

    17 from 4 don’t know why I bother!

      Bongo says:

14 from 6 including capt and bonus point… just one of those days i suppose…

      • Carolyn says:

I hope it can only get better,

        • Bongo says:

Absolutely… Tomorrow is another day and with 7 players still to play for you (5 for me) this g/w can easily turn around. Just accept that your gonna have days like this and hope there few and far between. Fine margins with clean sheets and captain picks and the scores could be so different, makes the game what it is so I try never to let it bother me on the bad days.

        • Kralin says:

          You’re speaking my language, Bongo.

At least Trippier got 1 bonus point. There is always light.

      • dawids11 says:

ouch.. i’m with you guys. worst possible start… however i could resist on transferring kane in

        • Carolyn says:

I was thinking of getting him last night but had a vodka instead!

        • Smash says:

          Great decision Carolyn

        • secretzorro says:

          But which vodka Carolyn?

        • Kralin says:

I had a calvados- and brought him in.

GW so far saved by one or two others. W-B seemingly in decline. The world is crumbling around me.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Note to self: never drink calvados in your life

        • Kralin says:

Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. It’s been a journey for me.

I used to neck 3 or 4 Special Brews before making my weekly transfer and selecting my captain. I’d end up with Bong as my triple captain before passing out.

Bathos is no bad thing. Just a couple of nips of calvados and I usually make a rational choice. I was a bit wilder this week, knowing the wildcard was coming.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

I can understand that, but you’d be surprised that the Finns are a cognac people… You really need the eau-de-vie or you’ve got nothing…

        • Kralin says:

Eau de vie de mirabelle, yes, very nice (in very small doses).

Otherwise it’s L’Assommoir territory with that stuff.

      • Rosco says:

I feel your pain mate, a rare good week (so far) for me, your overall rank is good though, I’m yet to break 100k!!

        • Bongo says:

Cheers mate, with the players you have left the 100k is doable this g/w with a bit of luck. Game has barely started so I’m happy where i am at this stage big time, I normally chase team value and come good in the second half of the season but this year I haven’t started to badly, happy days smile

        • Rosco says:

Thanks mate, I can almost smell it!! Haha ffix has me at 102,000 ish so closing in and a decent jump… until Hazard/Aguero put me back down tomorrow!!

        • Bongo says:

Haha, yeah I’m hoping Hazard doesn’t go booloo tomorrow as he would of been my captain if I hadn’t of done the infamous Aguero to Kane transfer… seemed such a good idea at the time smile

      Rosco says:

Still plenty to play, you’ll be fine!

      Offalymartin says:

      11points from 6. Nightmare

      • Kralin says:

Ah, I feel your pain. Bad luck. On another day you’d be on 50 points.

Hopefully Chelsea will run riot tomorrow and turn it all round.

        • Offalymartin says:

Cheers Kralin. Pretty sickened to be honest. Got rid of Kun for Harry and took the cpt off Hazard and put it on Kane. One of those weeks.

        • Kralin says:

Yeah, there’s always next week. And plenty of time to plan it.

The debate then will be City v Burnley and Liverpool v Huddersfield.

And Kane will probably score 3 v WHU.

        • Offalymartin says:

That’s true mate. Don’t want to do anything to drastic but need pool attacking cover in.
          Vardy- Firminio
          Mahrez- De Bruyne if back
          Zaha- Joselu to afford it.

          -8 unfortunately

        • Kralin says:

God I’d love it if KdB came back in for week 9 (though I’ll probably put in a placeholder).

Vardy has ok fixtures though Firmino’s are better.

        • Offalymartin says:

If he’s back he’s definitely coming in mate for sure.

I’m not to keen on selling vardy but I have madisson. Hopefully Bobby is a better option.
