Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8. It’s an early start this GW with a Friday kick-off and as ever with these things we hope you don’t join us for Live Match Chat with that sinking feeling of ‘why on earth have they posted Live Match Chat on a Friday night…’. And if you do (looking at you Raz!), don’t say we didn’t try to remind you as it was posted on each and every article this week at some point. Whether you made it in tact or not let’s crack on with the games.

Brighton have the early pleasure of a very much in-form West Ham coming to town on Friday evening. Saturday then sees us with five 3pm games beginning with a resurgent Burnley hoping to build on momentum at home to a struggling Huddersfield. Palace host Wolves in what should be an entertaining and close encounter, as should Leicester vs Everton. Spurs host Cardiff in what should by rights be a shellacking, or at least any Kane captainers will hope to be the case. Watford vs Bournemouth looks another one that is hard to call. Saturday evening may be the straw that finally breaks Jose’s back, and oh the irony if it is indeed Rafa who gets to waft it. Some stories you just can’t write… #here’s hoping

Sunday sees three games beginning with Mitro testing out Arsenal’s defensive resolve, followed by Saints trying and (probably) failing to blunt Hazard and co. Then it’s the game of the week at 4:30pm as Pep tries to exorcise his one real demon in English football thus far: Klopp.

Really bad calls taken lately and slipping down rankings. Hence, WC! Trying to get close to the template. Attached is squad with WC active and 0.2 ITB. I cannot fit in a Pool attacker anymore hence the double up on their defense; they are good at home plus easy looking fixtures!

Second concern is lack of a 2nd GK! I tried the 5.0 + 4.0 GK combo with Pickford and Schmeichel…didn’t work! Guess I may have to keep building team value to be able to afford another 4.5 GK later or I could go Doherty > Bennett and spend the cash on the 2nd GK!

Team look okay to you guys?

@porcrlain..Good squad. But, I’ll still try to get a Pool striker given their fixtures. May be Firmino for Kane and use the budget to do Wilson to Laca. Also, Wolves have bad run ahead. Double defense might not be a very good idea.

I understand the Wolves concern and I will keep tinkering till the beginning of GW 9, maybe just change Doherty to Bennett who can sit on the bench!

I am not a big fan of Firmino and I believe Kane has been more active in the last 2-3 GWs than the previous 5…so do not want to lose out on potential points if and when he starts to fire consistently!

Wilson for me had been really good so far, involvement in 10 goals in 8 GWs is very good return for his price!

If I get one of Salah or Mane I may have to downgrade the defense further!

Good reasoning. Team looks great. Think I’d take Salah over Kane is the change I’d make

With my WC active I’ll keep an eye on the game tonight! Salah has been taking shots but cannot find the back of the net! For whatever reason, he was eating up a lot of value and even dropped 0.2 during this time since I had him from GW1!

In fact I just ditched Salah for Kane! Like I stated above, if I really have to fit in Salah or Mane, I may have to disrupt my defense further than I already have, case in point, the GK situation!

I’m looking to play my WC this week as well and like you struggling to fit Lpool attackers in. Personally, I would do Bennet for Docherty, with a double Lpool defense and Alonso how often would he play?

      • PorcelainBiscuit says:

I may do just that eventually, but right now toying with the idea of a flexible 3-4-3 possible formation as well as a 4-3-3 whenever Doherty has a decent GW! and for times like those, Doherty would be a better option than Bennett!

Having said that, the day I feel the need of an additional 0.5 to use somewhere else, I will make this change!

I said during the week I didn’t think Kane was worth it but was told I definitely needed him against Cardiff so I listened! I trusted you all so much I even captained the ugly prick haha. You have all broken that trust now so I hate you all 😉 :hippo:

I think I’ll be selling Kane this week to Kun. Spurs just don’t look the full shilling and Kane just seems knackered.

I believe, Kane will have better balls coming at his feet once Alli, Eriksen, Dembele are back in from GW 9!

This GW, although Sp*rs won and Kane spurned a few chances, its the absence of the above trio in the midfield which probably was the difference between Kane getting 1 pt and him getting on the scoresheet like everybody predicted!

Kane thrives really well when the likes of Eriksen and Alli provide balls for him to put away! Yesterday, Kane was seen dropping back to find the ball and even out on the wings so he could get on to the ball!

Eriksen, Alli & Dembele will definitely be better than Winks/Son/Moura

Well Matt we hate you for not convincing us Kane buyers that he is crap and would blank! I blame it on you now.

Morning. What is everyone’s plan with Kane? The urge to rage out with my wildcard is strong laugh

Or should I just get and extra Liverpool attacker in with a free transfer after the international games and hold the WC for a few more weeks?

Kane is such a turd. You just know when you drop the bloke, he will score 2 or 3. >.<
