Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8. It’s an early start this GW with a Friday kick-off and as ever with these things we hope you don’t join us for Live Match Chat with that sinking feeling of ‘why on earth have they posted Live Match Chat on a Friday night…’. And if you do (looking at you Raz!), don’t say we didn’t try to remind you as it was posted on each and every article this week at some point. Whether you made it in tact or not let’s crack on with the games.

Brighton have the early pleasure of a very much in-form West Ham coming to town on Friday evening. Saturday then sees us with five 3pm games beginning with a resurgent Burnley hoping to build on momentum at home to a struggling Huddersfield. Palace host Wolves in what should be an entertaining and close encounter, as should Leicester vs Everton. Spurs host Cardiff in what should by rights be a shellacking, or at least any Kane captainers will hope to be the case. Watford vs Bournemouth looks another one that is hard to call. Saturday evening may be the straw that finally breaks Jose’s back, and oh the irony if it is indeed Rafa who gets to waft it. Some stories you just can’t write… #here’s hoping

Sunday sees three games beginning with Mitro testing out Arsenal’s defensive resolve, followed by Saints trying and (probably) failing to blunt Hazard and co. Then it’s the game of the week at 4:30pm as Pep tries to exorcise his one real demon in English football thus far: Klopp.

  1. Patrício + Doherty = 24pts on bench, so sad sad
    I have 2FT, 0.4itb, my early plan:
    1. Vardy & Alonso to Lacazette & Mendy/Robertson
    2. David Silva & Peltier to Knockaert & Mendy/Robertson
    3. Vardy & David Silva to Lacazette & Maddison
    4. -4pts, Vardy & David Silva & Peltier to Lacazette & Maddison & Alexander-Arnold

    • I’d wait on any early moves given it’s a international break.

  2. I am starting to hate this game. Takes up too much time which could. be spent doing something useful.
Taking a hit for Kane, by selling PEA & Richarlison – great move!

Probably should just close down the team and move on.

    • We all have weeks like this, I was there last week. Just switch off for a few days and come back fresh after the break, ready to smash it!!

    • I try to keep it all in perspective. It is only a game / well, a bit more than that, hobby really. Well, actually, a full-blown obsession. Um, well, now you come to mention it, a dangerous addiction.

No, it is only a game, a bit of fun, and plenty of people here are tactful enough to offer sympathy and not gloat about their success.

I know it can be hard but try to see the funny side of things. All that overthinking for the player you’ve moved out to get 20 points and the player brought in missing a penalty.

  3. Hazard goal. That rubs in the Kane disaster

    • Didn’t manage to get both in? It soothes my wounds just a little.

  4. Site team meeting needs better decision makers I think, haha.

    • What some of the best managers. I’m not on it btw

    • It’s stupid comments like that which make it all so worth while.

    • How come? I’m not on it either by the way!

    • People keeping names like maellen might consider something better. What about maligned

    • Said sh*te committee came away with a 72 (-4) this week after BPS is added. Personally I didn’t get anywhere near that this week but congrats if you did maellen. Care to share?

      • maellen?

        • In the trenches :no-mouth:

        • Cut them off without a shilling, Inittowinit.

        • Wouldn’t mind so much if we were precious about it but if something goes wrong there’s nobody quicker to point it out and make fun of it than ourselves, and on the article itself. And whether it ultimately works out or not no transfer gets published on there that I wouldn’t happily stand here all day long and justify as the correct decision at the time. Whether it or not is debatable of course, but debates take two participants, not just one brand new registrant with a throwaway comment and a quick scurry back behind the keyboard.

        • It’s tough. The temptation to say something really strong must be enormous. But then I think we could be laying into a 12 year old. And that would be terrible.

        • True. Just gone to check that it wasn’t in fact my eldest who made the comment with an IP re-route to Malaysia smile

  5. It’s interesting to see how the points of players you don’t own/ captain effect OR. The arsenal game lost me about 18k, the Hazard goal, despite owning him cost me a further 12k ( obviously down to those captaining him). If Aguero hauls I’ll be lucky to keep a green arrow!

  6. Liverpool v Man City
