Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9. And so we go again, for about 4 weeks anyway, before the next absolutely essential international break interrupts us all once more. You can probably guess that we rather side with Jurgen Klopp and his view that ‘the Nations Cup is the most senseless competition in the world of football’. Let’s just hope that none, or at least not many, of your precious FPL assets came to any harm in their pursuit of the ‘glory’ of a few Nations Cup points this past week or so.

Back we are though and we start with a cracker as Jose goes back to The Bridge on Saturday lunchtime, an occasion which is always notable, but probably more so when he’s so under the cosh, not to mention scrutiny. Expect to see buses in their droves.

We then get stuck into a bumper 3pm selection with 6 games to feast upon. Which usually means a compromise of paucity over the rest of the weekend but more on that later! An in form (ish) Bournemouth host ‘neighbours’ and terminally out of form Southampton, Cardiff struggle on towards the inevitable as they host Mitro and co, Man City hope to strut on towards their own inevitability against whichever version of Burnley show up, Newcastle host former boss Chris Hughton and his Brighton side, West Ham prepare for the next Cup Final against Spurs and Wolves and Watford face each other in a clash of the early form setters.

Those who sold Salah and co will then be spending Saturday evening behind the couch as Liverpool visit free falling Huddersfield in the late game.

The weekend then limps to a conclusion as Sunday sees just the one game with Everton hosting Crystal Palace before we conclude with Leicester going to Arsenal on Monday.

Seeing as though klopp wants Liverpool to play with more control I think it’s taking away their edge. Liverpool have been very sloppy today. Huddersfield are a poor side and they’ve been made to look dangerous.

I hope it’s a low average this week, cause my score ain’t gonna be high!

I guess holding on to Salam far too long paid off this week at least. Still very low scoring….

22 with Madisson to play. Worst week ever.

At least it’s a low scoring week

Mate it’s going to be a tough week for everyone. Chin up, there will be weeks like this. Last season I scraped some 30 point game weeks one week, the following 90 point game weeks – with the exact same starting 11

As long as you have proven players who overall get points, you will have good weeks yet to come

The key with low scoring weeks is not to overreact!

      • Offalymartin says:

Cheers mate. Yeah I stupidly took a -8 this week. Really wanted KDB back in and got rid of Mahrez. Swapped Vardy for Firminio also. Definitely one of those awful weeks.

        • roccerfeller says:

You’re playing the marathon right imo. Not as sure about taking Vardy out but look at it this way – KdB will be the gift that keeps on giving throughout the season. Firmino last year exploded in December. Both these players will give you your 8 points back

        • Rosco says:

Just one of those weeks! Wouldn’t have advised Vardy out but Mahrez was understandable, hopefully they’ll pay off next week!

        • Offalymartin says:

Cheers lads. I think I’ve serious problems at the moment though. Neves, Joselu probably need to go. Unsure about keeping Kane either.

Bless the FF247 fam who talked me into not taking a hit and swapping Kane for Aguero.

I’m currently sitting 35 pts ahead of my rival in mini league!

    Bless y’all

      roccerfeller says:

And turns out rival ended up taking the hit! Lol

Had I made those moves, I would have kicked myself for bringing in sterling and keeping Kane
