Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9. And so we go again, for about 4 weeks anyway, before the next absolutely essential international break interrupts us all once more. You can probably guess that we rather side with Jurgen Klopp and his view that ‘the Nations Cup is the most senseless competition in the world of football’. Let’s just hope that none, or at least not many, of your precious FPL assets came to any harm in their pursuit of the ‘glory’ of a few Nations Cup points this past week or so.

Back we are though and we start with a cracker as Jose goes back to The Bridge on Saturday lunchtime, an occasion which is always notable, but probably more so when he’s so under the cosh, not to mention scrutiny. Expect to see buses in their droves.

We then get stuck into a bumper 3pm selection with 6 games to feast upon. Which usually means a compromise of paucity over the rest of the weekend but more on that later! An in form (ish) Bournemouth host ‘neighbours’ and terminally out of form Southampton, Cardiff struggle on towards the inevitable as they host Mitro and co, Man City hope to strut on towards their own inevitability against whichever version of Burnley show up, Newcastle host former boss Chris Hughton and his Brighton side, West Ham prepare for the next Cup Final against Spurs and Wolves and Watford face each other in a clash of the early form setters.

Those who sold Salah and co will then be spending Saturday evening behind the couch as Liverpool visit free falling Huddersfield in the late game.

The weekend then limps to a conclusion as Sunday sees just the one game with Everton hosting Crystal Palace before we conclude with Leicester going to Arsenal on Monday.

Liverpool fans or anyone else. What do we think of Lovren as an option? Played the last two games and I’m looking at shipping out Robertson for him. Need the cash obviously

Two poor players today and no-one tomorrow.

    What a bummer.

Hi guys. Any advice on potential wc?

Nice team! If I was really looking for something to pick at it would be the double Palace defence ….another option could be Tomkins/Doherty to Periera/Bennet but understand why you’d want to have Doherty!
Other 4.4 options in place of Tomkins could be Zab/Balbuena/Diop(WH) Taylor(Bur) or Dummet/Fernandez(New) ….not the most reliable teams for CS’s but have much better fixtures than CP and would give you more options

      • RedKev says:

Plus Tomkins close to dropping price so bring him in later in the week if you do want him and save a £0.1!

      • Chipster says:

        Good looking team that

Totally agree about Tomkins. Swap him out.

Dunk (BRI) is only £4.4 and delivered a CS and 2BPs this week, plus with a great run of fixtures ahead compared to Palace’s upcoming horror show. If you didn’t want the defensive double-up with BRI, you could get a different keeper than Ryan (depending how much money you have left itb). That said, actually a defensive double-up with BRI on paper is a lot better than your current PAL defensive double-up, so maybe even keep Ryan.

Definitely get Button instead of Hamer as your bench keeper, as he will likely cover for Ryan in January when he’s away with Australia at the Asian Cup (and may provide injury cover before then if required).

    Hi peeps.

Has anybody’s team points updated in the Leagues view of the FPL site to include their new total after Sunday’s matches? Also has this changed yet in the Gameweek History section of My Team?

Mine still reflects my 26pts from Saturday, even though my Points view shows 35pts including Sunday’s games.

This kind of stuff usually gets fully updated 4-5hrs after the last fixture of the day ends, so weird it still looks wrong now. Dunno if it’s just me, or a more widespread issue though (and yes, I have refreshed the window several times, lol).

What forward would you guys bring in/keep right now if you could choose anyone?
I’m considering Kane out and Laca in if nothing changes my mind tonight when arsenal play… Already got aguero…

Thoughts on this lot guys. 1ft and 0 itb.

      Rosco says:

Either walker to Mendy or Kane to Kun would be my moves regardless of fixture.
You could always roll the transfer and take stock with 2 FT after Spurs v City?

      • Neilos says:

Hey Rosco I was thinking of those moves as options. Mendy smashed it nicely and can see him in the points again consistently.

        • Rosco says:

He’ll be my move this week unless something else crops up.

Annoyingly I only ditched him 2GWs back to bring in Kane, the whole debacle has left me 19pts worse off and a couple of transfers wasted! Hey ho! we live and learn!

        • Rosco says:

Actually, now that I look at it Its actually cost me 33pts as I would have captained Hazard that GW! Ouch!! 33 more points would see me 15k instead of 85k…. this game is cruel!! Wish I hadn’t looked now!! haha

        • Neilos says:

I did the same thing with the Kane move. Hopefully Walker is fit next game week. I think I’ll be doing Kun in as well

      eresh12 says:

hey neilos. i would do the kane to aguero move this week. also further down the line get rid of one of your bmouth players when their fixtures get tough in the next few weeks.

      • Neilos says:

hey Eresh. Yeah that’s what I’m planning. Wish I hadn’t bothered with kane a few weeks ago and just left Aguero in

        • eresh12 says:

yeah likewise. missed out on hazard captaincy, not getting dohertys point on GW7 and 8, not captaining aguero in gW2. 67 points missed out but its part of the game.

i think wilson to lacazette would be a good move. i think neves can be downgraded to stephens to free up some cash.
