Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26. Only in England could we have a ‘Winter Break’ in which all teams still play and yet is punctuated (somewhat) with FA Cup replays for four of them. We say good on Klopp for showing them the finger and highlighting the absurdity of it all. Politics aside, GW26 will be held over two weekends, beginning today on the 8th Feb and concluding a week on Monday, the 17th.
There’s an unequal split too, with four games this weekend and six on the next. It makes for an uncertain and very long GW but it is what it is. To make it even more odd we don’t have a single 3pm Saturday game on either weekend. Why? TV, that’s why. They’ve seen the opportunity and taken it; every single game is now scheduled in a TV slot.
We shall stop ranting though and let you crack on with enjoying the longest of long GW’s…
The games in full…

Saints update – JWP could play as maybe also KWP. FYI.
Cookie
Burnley – Barnes (back training) but won’t play, Taylor should play and Lowton may/may not play….
RafflesHotspur
Cheers for the info, Cookie :good: :cookie:

That loooooong GW is ridiculous…
Not planning of doing any early moves but just thinking about the option out there. Toffees’ schedule looks horrendous, so Holgate is most likely to be my outgoing transfer. Who would you go for?
Another *maybe stupid* option is selling KDB, hear me out, for 2-3 GWs, as he’s got Leicester away and blank. Also, I think Pep will prioritize CL and might “surprise” us with his infamous roulette soon. Thinking of Martial/Son. Am I crazy?
Cookie
Tornado,
Son over Martial 1,000,000% mate. That’s as both a United fan and Martial owner.
Re your Holgate replacement- Boly maybe? No blanks for Wolves and kind looking fixtures.
Tornado
:laugh2: Yeah, I am probably a bit biased with Martial, as a United fan myself. I just think that with Bruno’s arrival and Scott back in training, he might start showing potential. Also, Watford at home looks tasty (on paper).
On the other hand, Son is super explosive and proven point-provider. Tottenham as a team though are a bit of hit and miss. Them fixtures are not great as well (CHE-A, WOL-H, BUR-A, MU-H).
I might stick to the initial plan and get Boly/Lascelles in.
Thanks Cookie!
Kralin
I would go for a Wolves’ defender – there’s plenty of choice there to suit all tastes. I’m toying with the idea of Doherty. Wolves play in GW31 too, which is handy if you’re thinking of hoarding the FH chip.
While on one hand Everton’s fixtures look bad their form ain’t ‘alf good so I’m not as concerned as some – though I don’t own an Everton player (yet). Like you I’ve been thinking of ditching KdB but of their two looming league games you’d fancy limited minutes more v WHU than Leicester. If I bump ino Pep up at the Rec I’ll ask him. But you’re not crazy at all to think about ditching him.
Tornado
Cheers, Kralin! Doherty is a bit expensive for my budget. But Boly is probably the one to go for. It was always my plan to use the FH then, as I didn’t see any reason to save it. Do you think that there is better time to use it?
Re-Everton: I wouldn’t be worried if I had Richarlison or DCL in my team because there are performing quite well, as you said, but I just don’t expect too many clean sheets to come whereas there teams with easier schedules (on paper).
If you bump into Pep, tell him that we all dislike him because of his rotating shenanigans!
Zed Leppelin
I would do Holgate –> Boly… Wolves are playing today so obviously wait (at least!) after that
Tornado
Thanks, Zed! A lot of love for Boly, so he might be my next move. It’s between him and Lascelles, and I would definitely prefer Wolves’ defender if money wasn’t an issue. I am torn, because the idea of some spare dosh to get rid of Cantwell looks appealing as well.
I am not planning to do anything before the end of this GW (not a fan of early transfers).
Zed Leppelin
Could do Pereira to Boly as well to gain some more cash, seems like he’s not really worth his price, yes he just got a haul against Hammers but he hasn’t done much around that, and Lei aren’t keeping many cleanies anymore… I think Boly might keep up with him in the near future for a lot less and you could have loads of cash to upgrade Cantwell

Fantasy Football STARTS (for some) tonight! :yahoo:
inittowinit
Have you still not had a player start yet?! Just Soya and Maddy here tonight. Now no pressure on them but I’m averaging 9 per player at the moment…..
Gallant Pioneer (@MitchellC_FF247)
Not one!
Potentially four tonight.
FplDoc789
What would you do with this lot guys? Sinking like a rock in my ML
2FT and 0 itb
Stone Frog
I would focus on the defence. Anyone from Kelly, Hanley, Rico and Holgate out. Perhaps Stephens (Sou) and Lascelles (New) in for Kelly and Holgate if that works.
FplDoc789
Would you do a -4 to take Maddison out to beef up one of the defenders say to Doherty/Boly ? Only way to make funds is by getting rid of either Grealish/Maddison/Traore.
Kop Warrior
City banned from CL for two seasons!!!
Zed Leppelin
Sheffield United currently going to CL then? :excited:
Kop Warrior
I’ve no idea how it will effect qualification this season. City will undoubtedly appeal to CAS.
inittowinit
That’ll get overturned by CAS. Sounds like it’s been heard by a kangaroo court thus far.
Kop Warrior
I expect so. Unfortunately.
Zed Leppelin
Yeah that’s true, unfortunately, like they shortened Chelsea’s transfer ban and so on and so forth…
VanDan
Oi! Nothing wrong with determining guilt based on shrimp chucking skills and knives comparison, fair dinkum?
bees393
Wow…a huge financial loss for MC. Will Pep (and all the players) stick around?
Stone Frog
Man City will probably win it this year then, so that’s awkward for UEFA when the champions aren’t in it next year.
bees393
Hopefully for them, but it is sure not a given. Two years a too harsh.
Kop Warrior
I’ll be surprised if City make the next round this season, never mind win it!
