PRE-SEASON HUB 2020/21
Introduction
Gone are the days of Premier League teams jetting off to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for their pre-season preparations – at least for this pre-season. Here’s hoping things in the world are again on the right side of normal this time next season and I for one will never again take the Premier League Asia Trophy for granted.
In this shortened period between the 2019-20 season ending and the 2020-21 season beginning (consider that Manchester United & Manchester City players will not even be through passport control with their families as they head on holiday whilst Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham commence a stretch of their legs with their first pre-season matches), I will again document the ins and outs and ups and downs of all 20 Premier League teams pre-season on this article as we hurtle towards the new season.
Below is a guide to the matches CONFIRMED so far – there will be more. For instance, as you’ll see, there are clubs who have not yet announced any matches. Seeing as all games will be behind closed doors anyway, I would expect the clubs to be transparent about their matches, not least to let their own supporters know what’s going on and I’ll be there to take advantage.
As is the norm – if you feel comfortable in doing so – please record any and all pre-season news here under the relevant team comment. I’ll round up each day with anything missed relating to line-ups, goals, assists, injuries, playing positions etc.
You’ll find a comment relating to each of the 20 teams below.

With it look like we will get BGW18 and DGW19, have you thought about a different chip strategy this year?
For me, it depends which games get moved by the TV schedulers. And whether I use my WC early.
Seems likely that the GW1 games will go there (unless both teams get knocked out of EFL cup early)
The likely popular tactic will be WC16, FH18 and BB19. Probably TC26 which is mooted as the probable DGW for the WK29 preponements.
But there’s as much chance as me keeping to this tactic as not changing my first week team again
Have not worked it out but depends which DGW has the most fixtures, the GW19 one or the one later in the season as to when people will BB right?
Or is DGW19 defo gonna be the one with more double fixtures?
DGW19 will have 15-17 fixtures depending on where the GW1 rearrangements go. The later one (FA 1/4 rescheduling) will have up to 18. Less if any championship teams make the QF or if any teams are already scheduled to play each other GW29
Cheers for that info Otieno.
I see the game summary I hope to find new players for my squad
Thanks for the info
Any truth in the news that Doherty moving to Spurs hence why wolves going for Niles ????
There’s truth they are interested but at 12 million they have no chance of getting him. Niles fits for me as they have a small squad and he can cover Moutinho and Doherty
Oh I see
Just found the page today having spent all day tinkering, great community. Would love to know what you’s think of my squad, have 2m in the bank for swaps.
Welcome. It’s a good team maybe too much on bench. Leeds are close to signing a striker. Not sure Pulisic will make week one
I want Rodrigo to work at Leeds, but his finishing is really bad. Hope that changes if it goes to Leeds.
Mito21 I don’t think his finishing is going to get any better but we do need another striker just wish we could get better
Cool, thanks! Yea Pulisic/Maximan/Rice i’m not set on. Will have to keep an eye on the leeds situation, want a budget striker but Bamford or Austin at 5.5 is making me think I should just go for Mitrovic
Hey t23 team looks good but I thk you need another big hitter in there Salah, Bruno , KDB
Was planning to rotate PEA/KDB and upgrade Puli or Son to Bruno depending on which one is on better form. Could also keep PEA and upgrade Son to KDB instead of Bruno
Did Salah score most of his points in first half of last season? Don’t know why I have the feeling he is going to be more miss than hit this year. We can afford so few premium players and there are so many of them
He scored 107 in the first 19 games and 126 in the last 19.
Good to know. Thanks Mito

“Messi has been unhappy with the way Barca have been going for a while.”
Where will he go?
How much will he be in the FPL?
Will you have him in your team?
“They’re just not competitive anymore!”
Can City afford him?
Can anyone? :big_boss:
It’s a stretch for any team. My guess is Real Madrid, City, Chelsea, United, PSG. I have doubts over Inter being able to afford it. Very limited regardless but I think they are the only ones who can afford it
I’d love to see him in Juventus playing alongside Ronaldo. It’d be a great way to end that spectacular era and ‘rivalry’.
I just can’t see how they could afford it. Their wage bill is massive
