PRE-SEASON HUB 2020/21
Introduction
Gone are the days of Premier League teams jetting off to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for their pre-season preparations – at least for this pre-season. Here’s hoping things in the world are again on the right side of normal this time next season and I for one will never again take the Premier League Asia Trophy for granted.
In this shortened period between the 2019-20 season ending and the 2020-21 season beginning (consider that Manchester United & Manchester City players will not even be through passport control with their families as they head on holiday whilst Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham commence a stretch of their legs with their first pre-season matches), I will again document the ins and outs and ups and downs of all 20 Premier League teams pre-season on this article as we hurtle towards the new season.
Below is a guide to the matches CONFIRMED so far – there will be more. For instance, as you’ll see, there are clubs who have not yet announced any matches. Seeing as all games will be behind closed doors anyway, I would expect the clubs to be transparent about their matches, not least to let their own supporters know what’s going on and I’ll be there to take advantage.
As is the norm – if you feel comfortable in doing so – please record any and all pre-season news here under the relevant team comment. I’ll round up each day with anything missed relating to line-ups, goals, assists, injuries, playing positions etc.
You’ll find a comment relating to each of the 20 teams below.

Latest version of team. Got £2m ITB. Wouldn’t mind having Willian in the team with goal scoring potential and assists.
Thoughts on the team & whether I should be using the £2m to upgrade in midfield or keep something in the bank to upgrade after GW1 with MC or MU player.
Also wanting to keep some money behind just don’t know if it’s going towards a midfield upgrade or a forward upgrade in later GWs
Upgrade to Messi?
May be worth crossing the Messi bridge as / when it happens.
And even if it happens it won’t happen until GW2.
Just seen Ferguson is now injured with unknown return date. Think a lot had lumped on to him as well as a £4m defender
15% of managers – including myself.
I hadn’t noticed as he was tucked away on my bench.
Yeah don’t think he’s played since Jan and is struggling with same injury
He was the first player into my side for 20/21.
Seemed a safeish bet as well.
Oh well.
Yeah I prob would have played him week one
On the cheapo enabling front I’ve seen a couple of rumours linking Brewster to Sheffield United.
Yeah saw that which means he’s looking likely to go out on loan. That will be enough to cover a United player for me I think
And Liverpool will get the agreement that he plays every week.Win win
Not a bad first off the bench option.
Sheffield are more interesting in terms of their defensive chops but perhaps Rhian will change all of that.
No club will sign an agreement that guarantees a loan player will play every week.
You’ve punctured all our dreams, KW.
I’m sat with pieces of burst balloon held in my hands trying to make Brewster’s face smile at me and say it’s all ok.
That made me smile. And that Kralin, in a nutshell, is why you should write more for us #briliant
Kralin, that’s what I’m here for!
Where dreams go to die.
The latest lineup. Going to leave it a week to see what happens with transfers, seems to be plenty of action so hard to settle on certain players. Hoping Brewster gets loaned to a prem team.
I weirdly saw Gordon sat in my side earlier – a variation from Stephens (or Messi, soon enough maybe).
Like you I’m trying to force Ings into my side but am finding it hard without compromising my elite defence.
I prefer Doherty to Vinagre but there’s talk of the former going to Spurs.
I’ve tried to line up with a more premium defender but would have to sacrifice a striker most likely, would rather have my money upfront and see who does well in defence later.
My latest plan needs two (3 in GW1) out of Saliba, Douglas, Johnson, Bernardo to start for first 4 weeks. Then Greenwood will be sold hopefully having gained TV and I’ll look who the form defenders are.
GW1
GW2
GW3
Ha ha I’ve thought the same thing but I can’t see it working because of the 4 million defenders. Think I’m sacrificing ASM and going 4-4-2
Are any of those three D4.0’s starters? looks risky that
I’ve set up a H2H league in my work. Is there a limit to the No of teams with it being H2H?
Thanks
It doesn’t appear so Ripcurl.
Finding it really hard to overlook both Werner and Ziyech at those prices, am I shooting myself in the foot putting both in?
Not at all, so long as Ziyech is fit.
