Arsenal
Last Updated:Thursday 29th August 2019
- Bellerin, Tierney and Mavropanos are all progressing well and aiming to participate in full training in September.
- Rowe will play with the u23s on Tuesday as he continues to inch closer.
- Holding is getting better, but not 100% ready yet.
- Emery on Ozil “This week he is training well. He is physically better and he is doing normal work with [the squad]. He is going to be closer to us, and he will be available.” by closer to us, I assume he means the bench.
- Emery on starting Pepe, Auba and Laca together “Yes, but be calm. My decision in each moment is thinking about how we are. For example with Lacazette he had a problem with his ankle. This week is the best week of the last three weeks. He’s getting better and feeling better with his ankle, it’s very positive. With Pepe, he came here later than the others but he is getting and feeling better in each match. Aubameyang is very important for us, he scores two goals in the first two matches, he had two or three good actions in Liverpool.”
- Emery on how to deal with Harry “Kane is a big and great player for them. But we also have very big and great players in our team. We are going to play with our game plan and also with respect to them, but also believing in our game plan and in our players and in our supporters, because they are going to help us.” I can only assume that the fans will supply Arsenal with the starting back four then or at the very least someone to replace Luiz.
- Emery was asked about guys possibly leaving and he did admit that Monreal was one of them.
Aston Villa

- Matt Targett is ruled out having limped off against Crewe on Tuesday night feeling his hamstring. “We are hoping it’s not as bad as what can be feared. He didn’t do it when he was crossing or sprinting. He actually did it with a pass. We have brought him off as quick as possible,” Smith said on Tuesday.
- James Chester remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
- Jonathan Kodjia has returned to light training but is unlikely to be available on Saturday.
- Smith made 10 changes for the 6-1 win over Crewe on Tuesday night. Despite a number of impressive performances Smith is unlikely to make many changes to the team which defeated

- Potter confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns following matches against Southampton and Bristol Rovers in the cup, but Bissouma, Izquierdo and Schelotto remain sidelined.
- Bissouma could be back after the break, Schelotto is right behind that time frame, but Izquierdo is a bit further away.
- Andone will serve the second game of his 3 match ban.
- Jurgen Locadia has went out on loan.
Bournemouth

- David Brooks, Lloyd Kelly, Arnaut Danjuma, Dan Gosling, Lewis Cook, Simon Francis and Junior Stanislas are all unavailable for the trip to King Power Stadium.
- Charlie Daniels faces a long spell on the sidelines after doing damage to his knee in his game vs City.
- Howe complimented Rodgers from Leicester saying “Leicester are a vastly improved team, Brendan deserves great credit. They’re very confident in their skin, we go there knowing it’s going to be a big game.” yep, this is what we need, someone making Rodgers more full of himself.
Burnley
Last Updated: Thursday 29th August 2019
- Gudnundsson has a minor strain and it is believed that he is unlikely to be ready for this weekend.
- Brady did not feature in the Carabao Cup and has not featured in the side in the PL either, he is probably still out.
- Drinkwater did feature in the cup and could be at the very least ready for a role off the bench this weekend.
- Steven Defour is hoping to be back after the International break.
- Sean Dyche believes “Post Malone was different class” at the Reading festival.
- To get the Clarets ready for a fixture vs Liverpool it is said that Dyche has used some inspired words from one of the songs he heard from Post Malone.
“Said she tired of lil’ money, need a big boy
Pull up twenty inch blades like I’m Lil’ Troy
Now it’s everybody flockin’, need a decoy
Shawty mixin’ up the vodka with the LaCroix, yeah
G-wagen, G-Wagen, G-Wagen, G-Wagen” - Don’t think the Burnley players will have misunderstood what Dyche was trying to convey, sit deep and defend.
Chelsea
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Mount has been training this week so is fit. “Yeah, he is fine. It was just a knock”.
- Abraham is expected to continue after scoring two goals last time out. Lampard; “Really impressed. He is dealing with it first hand and it is not easy to rise above it, but he has. He trains with a smile on his face. But this has to be the start now and for the young players to push on. He is playing because he deserves it, he has to continue that”.
- Kante, Rudiger and Pedro will miss out. Lampard; “N’Golo Kante is not fit. Continuation of his ankle injury. I had a conversation with Deschamps. Pedro is not fit, but should be the other side of the international. Rudiger will play for the U23s tonight”.
Crystal Palace

- Roy believes that going to Old Trafford and rectifying the Sheffield United result was a fantastic achievement. This suggests that United are better than Sheffield United….
- Roy on injuries, “Tomkins is on the brink of recovery. Scott Dann has a cast on his hand and we will make a decision on him later. Apart from that, we’re okay on the injury front”. Roy has obviously forgotten about Mamadou Sakho!
- Roy was asked if Christian Benteke has done enough, “I can’t say he has done enough in scoring goals, I can’t defend him on that front”.
Everton
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Silva confirmed there’s only one injury. “Our only player injured at the moment is JP Gbamin. Everyone else is available.” Baines and Lossi are now fit.
- Marco Silva on Kean, Delph, Sidibe and Iwobi: “We gave them the first start [v Lincoln]. I like what I saw. Because he started the middle of the pre-season with us, Fabian knows more things than the others about our model and philosophy.” Iwobi and Delph look more likely to start. Silva “For Fabian and Alex it’s easier because they know Premier League, they know some of their teammates. For the other two it’s a little bit different but it is up to me to give more minutes to them when I can, to give the games for them to start if I decide.”
Leicester City
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Ben Chilwell and Wilfred Ndidi are both expected to return to the Leicester City squad for this weekend’s game.
- Wes Morgan had an issue with his back against Newcastle in the League Cup and could miss out this weekend.
- That was all on the team news front.
- Rodgers did drop in that James Maddison is “a really humble boy”. Presumably just because Southgate spoke yesterday about the need for humility and when Rodger’s sees someone who is cool say something cool he has to say the same thing to mirror the coolness, such is his humility…
Liverpool
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Klopp on Alisson, “He [has] made steps, of course, but it was a proper injury, so it will still take time…A calf muscle is pretty important for jumping – and for a goalie, it is quite important that you can jump from time to time, so it will take time.”
- Klopp on Adrian, “So far, I am really happy with everything I saw.” Perhaps a trip to Specsavers is in order for our Jurgen!!
- Klopp admitted that Shaqiri isn’t happy, “Is he the happiest player? I don’t think so. Does he show that? No.”
- He went on to warn about the possibility of rotation with the Champions League looming but that’s one to worry about later, and nothing we didn’t already know.
Manchester City

- Stones and Jesus are expected to miss out. Pep has teased an early return “They are much better. I don’t know if they’re available for tomorrow if not tomorrow they’ll be ready after the break.”
- Cancelo is still waiting for a start. Pep “When we come back from the international break, we have Norwich, after three days, we have to travel to Ukraine, after three days we have a game here, then Carabao Cup. Start the real season in terms of a lot of games.”
- No new injuries reported, but as we know, Pep can’t be trusted!
Manchester United
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Ole on Luke and Anthony “They’re doing okay but they won’t be involved in this game, after the international break, hopefully Anthony will be ready for the Leicester game and Luke maybe another week or two after that.”
- On players possibly leaving he says this on Smalling “He’s on the plane over now” on Darmian and Rojo “I can see maybe maybe Matteo. There has been some interest in him, Marcos is staying definitely. We have a squad now which is less in numbers but still big enough and strong enough.”
- Ole on Ibra “If he was 28 not 38 it is a big difference He had a great time here and he is still doing well. Who knows! He knows my number. If he is serious I’ll always talk to Zlatan.” Bet if Zlatan was at United they have at least two more goals, because he would have converted those pens.
- The gaffer had this to say on Greenwood “Mason is not used to playing as little as he is. He is used to playing every week, now he is coming on for half an hour here and there. He won’t be expected to play five games on the bounce, he is cover and an option behind Anthony and Marcus.”
- Fosu-Mensah, Dalot and Bailly remain out.
Newcastle United

- Steve also mentioned two of his strikers saying “We are hoping that by the international break Andy will be near. Dwight has gone to see another specialist.”
- The gaffer also confirmer that Saint-Maximin will be out for three weeks.
- More bad news from
RafaBruce a couple of more players mentioneing that “Emil Krafth and Jetro Willems are doubts vs Watford with muscle injuries. - Bruce made of bit news saying “Jonjo isn’t lazy.” Shelvey could not be reached for comment as he was taking a nap.
- Colback and Lejeune are still out
Norwich City

- Daniel Farke confirms that Timm Klose has ruptured his PCL and may need surgery. The Norwich boss says the best-case scenario is a four-month absence but he could be sidelined for anything up to a year.
- Grant Hanley is out tomorrow after injuring his groin and will require a scan. Christoph Zimmermann, Alex Tettey and Josip Drmic are available however.
Sheffield United
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Chris Wilder spoke about having options within his squad, after a number of players gained valuable minutes in Tuesday’s League Cup win over Blackburn, “There were some really good contributions from Ravel [Morrison] and Lys [Mousset] and Mo Besic. Ben Osborn I think has been outstanding as well, who’s pushing for a start.”
- Summer signing Lys Mousset will be one of those hoping to be included in the squad to face Chelsea, with Wilder commenting, “Whether he’s involved at the weekend, we’ll see. But he’s an obvious threat. You saw that, with his pace and his power, he can go past defenders and really trouble them.”
- Another summer signing, Oli McBurnie, could potentially make his first league start for the club at the weekend, “He’s been pushing and he scored. I’m obviously not going to sit here and tell you my team but he’s well in the forefront of our plans going into Saturday. He’s knocking on the door to play.”
Southampton
Last Updated: Friday 30th August 2019
- Nathan Redmond has been ruled out for “two to three weeks” with an ankle injury. Hasenhuttl said: “At the moment it looks like he will be out for two-three weeks….he could be out longer, and he has to wear a protective boot for the next 10 days, but it [his recovery] could be quicker.”
- Striker Michael Obafemi also left the pitch during Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup win shortly after scoring the winning goal. It was initially feared he had injured his hamstring again but Hasenhuttl confirmed that it was just cramp. Despite this he is considered a doubt for the weekend.
- Moussa Djenepo will also miss the United game with a muscular problem.
- There was no mention of Ryan Bertrand who missed the Brighton game due to an ankle injury. This would suggest that he will return to the squad.

- Only Troy Deeney is unavailable, meaning Gracia has nearly 30 players to choose from for the trip to the North East.
- Danny Welbeck and Ismaïla Sarr are edging ever closer to making their first league starts for the club. Welbeck played his first 90 minutes of any sort since October 4, 2018 in the 3-0 win over Coventry while Sarr played 72 minutes. Gracia “These two players need time,”.
- Gracia has hinted at changes with Watford still looking for their first win. “It’s true we need to change something to change our results,” he said. “We’ll see how many changes but the solution is not always to change the players. The players we have we need to improve. We have a lot of games to play and we have to be ready. I try to look for the best way to find the XI to start and look for the solution for this game.”
West Ham United

- Javier Hernandez is available, having recovered from a knee injury he sustained against Brighton.
- Pellegrini on Antonio, who suffered a hamstring injury against Newport on Tuesday night, “Michail – we will see tomorrow. We had to give him 48 hours for an MRI.”
- Pellegrini on Haller, “I think Haller will improve a lot, because it takes time to learn the Premier League. But scoring two goals in a game, especially after coming back from a small injury, will help him a lot.”
- Pellegrini on Wilshere, “I said last week that we can’t expect Jack to be back 100 per cent to his level because of his lengthy injury. He played very well the other night, not only because he scored. We will see tomorrow what the starting XI will be for Saturday.” Expect young Jack to be injured by the time you read this!!

- Once again, because of Thursday night’s Europa action there has been no official press conference.
- Nuno didn’t mention any injuries in his post match interview.
- As a result we would fully expect Wolves to return the Premier League with their usual line-up in tact after Neves, Bennett and Doherty were rested versus Torino.

Many thanks to all of those involved in pulling this together as usual. Basically Kop, Mito and Smash. And myself.
Yeah thanks dudes! Amazing volume of work you guys are producing! Watch out for mid-season burn-outs though (can usually be cured by cups of tea in front of MOTD or a quiet pint with mates at the local, if you happen to live in a small faraway Yorkshire village! Dunno why, but it just seemed to strike me as relaxing!). Good on you fellows! All the best this GW!
We’ve all been doing this for 10 years now on here and on FFC and we don’t miss a beat so there’s no issue with burn out! I think they call it the Stokes gene :locomotive:
Cheers for a wonderful Team news
Will getting in both Mount and Tammy be overkill?
Next two look pretty difficult so probably
Thank you guys
Thanks Guys, great to have all the news in one place.
Burnley :laugh2:
