Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7
Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7. I’m going on an adventure! Basically, I’m like the James Milner of the FF247 office, you tell me to do something I do it no questions asked and that’s what has happened this week. The big boss usually gives me the responsibility of writing the Fixtures article but thanks to one of the lads not being able to write Tips this week I snapped at the chance to give you all my thoughts on who we should bring in. So much like that wingback who has been told they can go forward and attack, I’m grasping this opportunity with two hands and running away with it. Now I have done this article before, so I am not a newbie but usually I use this article to tip differentials, because where is the fun in tipping Salah! My track record on differentials hasn’t always been great as the lads don’t let me forget! They love to remind me how I once tipped Aaron Mooy for the armband, but they neglect to remember I also tipped Chris Samba last season in a game where he went on to get an assist and a clean sheet so… I think I redeemed myself.
So many times over the season, all FPL managers tend to fall into a template squad. Before the season started it was Salah, Sterling, Wilson, Kane, TAA, Digne etc and now we are all on these players plus Pukki, Abraham or Cantwell. Well this article will all be about getting away from those templates and possibly getting you some players who can come good and allow you all to get on the ground floor of any possible success. So without further ado… the gameweek seven tips!
Goalkeepers
Ramsdale is the perfect candidate for me and this article as he is the first-choice Bournemouth goalkeeper yet is only owned by 0.4% of managers; compare this to Begovic who is owned by 1.5% of managers but is out on loan! Ramsdale has had a decent season so far grabbing a few save points before the game last Friday night against Southampton where he managed to get an assist and a double-digit score. The only caveat I will add to Ramsdale is don’t be expecting clean sheets week-in, week-out as Bournemouth haven’t managed to keep a single clean sheet all season and have conceded 10 goals already in 6 games. However if you fancy a rotation pairing Ramsdale could be your man.
Fabianski is the next man I would like to tip as West Ham are about to embark on an adventure of their own as they head into a favourable run of fixtures in their next six games. Fab is an FPL favourite with being a save and bonus point magnet. I would say he has a good chance of improving on his impressive 31 points to date, which also makes him the highest scoring goalkeeper in the game. Coming off the back of a 2-0 win over Man United, West Ham should be flying high. Fabianski made 3 saves in that game and picked up a bonus point for a total of 8 points. At only 5.0% ownership, the cheap shot stopper could be a good set and forget or a good pairing with Ramsdale.
Defenders
Soyuncu is owned by 5.1% of managers at time of writing but this number will likely rise as Leicester are about to go on an amazing run of fixtures. Soyuncu has played every minute of the season for Leicester this season and I don’t see that changing as he has been great for them at the back. Before the season I didn’t see this man mentioned once but now he is one of the best replacement options for Zinchenko and I myself have made that move. Leicester may have only kept one clean sheet all season and that was the opener against Wolves, but they have also only let in one goal per game in the rest of their games, so it is not like they are leaking goals but rather just shutting off for that one moment. They have managed to get Man United, Spurs and Chelsea out of the way already so this can be looked on as having got past 3 of the top 6 teams only conceding 3 goals. The Foxes are also flying high after fighting back from a goal down against Spurs to win 2-1. This takes their record for the season to 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss which is not a bad start to the season. At £4.6m, the Leicester defender is a cheap option with a great upside.
Tomori owned by 1.4% has been enjoying a nice run of games in the Chelsea backline. With the Liverpool game out of the way, Chelsea are about to embark on a run of fixtures which sees them play Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle, Burnley, Watford and Palace before their next big game against City. This should give the blues plenty of potential for obtaining clean sheets. Chelsea only have 4 fit defenders in their squad at this precise moment. With Christensen picking up and injury, Rudiger still making his way back, and Emerson aggravating his injury, this should mean Tomori will continue to get minutes in the Chelsea team. If you don’t fancy the young lad then maybe a bit of experience in captain, Azpilicueta. The Spaniard is also a differential at only 5.9% owned but he is a bit more expensive than his young counterpart. Azpi has the attacking potential we love in a defender and with the aforementioned fixtures, he should have plenty opportunities to get forward. (Edit: What about Alonso?)
Midfielders
I like the look of Lamela here, but I do admit this is a very dodgy pick! This is the pick I’m expecting to generate some raised eyebrows and laughs but hear me out. Spurs have got some very good fixtures coming up. Lamela has gotten 2 goals and 2 assists this season and has played over 60 minutes in all but one game. This could be because Son was out, but they have played together for the last four games. I believe the increase in Lamela’s time is that Eriksen is looking out of sorts and might possibly be pushing for a move away from the club. This could see the Dane be iced out and the Argentine warm up the Spurs midfield. I saw a little bit of the Leicester and Spurs match and while Spurs ended up losing the game; Lamela was playing in the hole and had acres of space around him. So, at £6.1m and only chosen by 5.2%, Lamela could help you save some bucks and get a step on your fantasy rivals in those mini leagues.
The only non-differentials in this article are the following players. Any of the City midfielders are a good bet in your FPL team, hell if you could afford it and if you were allowed to, I would suggest grabbing KDB, Sterling, Dilva, Bilva and Mahrez and leave it at that. The reason I say this is because we really don’t know who will play week from week. Last week saw KdB benched and this week we saw Sterling miss out. Bilva, KdB and Mahrez… hell the entire City team ran riot over Watford on Saturday. It was truly embarrassing to watch and I’m not even a Watford fan. I think I’ve seen pub teams play better than the Hornets did in that match. City showed you should definitely have their attacking assets but we definitely need to take the highs with the lows and make sure we have a bench so if we get hit by Peptation we have reliability in reserve.
Forwards
I found it a bit harder to find a differential here that was firing, hell even finding a striker that was firing! We all know about Abraham and Pukki plus we all know the greatness of Kane and Aguero. One player who has gotten a lot of stick for some reason and has bizarrely gone down in price is Callum Wilson, or how I will now refer to him as ‘Cilson’. Having returned in all of his games so far you would think we would all be jumping on the Cilson bandwagon but instead the lads mentioned above plus Haller are all firing and at a cheaper price, so this is probably the reason behind the Cherry strikers price fall. I would try get in a forward trio of Pukki, Abraham and Cilson as this could be an amazing top three if you don’t want or can’t afford one of the big lads like Aguero, Kane or PEA.

Hi all,
I have 2FTs 0.3m in the back.
I am considering Zinchenko and Barnes to Tomori and Abraham.
These moves make my defence really weak though.
Any advice please?
If you did that, you could have Pieters, Tomori and Soyuncu as your defence for this gameweek and still manage to have Digne and Lundstram on the bench, which really isn’t a bad situation!
What about Otamendi for Zinchenko? Do you still have enough for Tammy then?
Another suggestion from you lads. In my midfiled i got KVB, BLIVA, RODRIGO, AND SON, comes to my bench i got CEBALLOS. Now thinking on what to do.?? Should i play Ceballos ahead of Rodri or Bench Ceballos and play Rodri??
And my fear is whether Rodri will make a start ahead of up coming gameweek 7??
Or should transfer Rodri out for Mahrez for (-4)??
tomori :biggun:
Where did the site team article go? Was looking forward to reading it with my morning brew !
I saw it last night around 1am UK time. It had XXXXX where the names of players bought and sold were meant to be. I thought it must have been a case of pressing “send” (or something similar) before being ready….Thought that the complete version would be there this morning…Or did I dream all this?
No, you didn’t. I saw it as well :laugh2:
