Here at FF247 towers we’ve often wondered what driving forces skulk behind a comment or a rate my team reply, do we really know the mindset and the persona of the people we are conversing with?! To find the answers to these questions we have lured some regulars from out of their caves and got them to endure a simple Q&A session.
Hopefully this will help us to uncover whether each member can be viewed as a ‘fellow sports enthusiast’, ‘colleague’, ‘fantasy friend’, ‘internet troll’ or indeed ‘sociopath’! Let’s take a look inside the minds of our first two ‘victims’ then and see whether, hiding behind the cute monkey gravatars, lurks a sadistic, megalomaniacal, psychotic keyboard warrior. Or just a normal guy or gal who likes to play fantasy football…

Best finish in The Barclays Premier League Fantasy Football game: Somewhere in the top 5k. I don’t recall exactly. Oh ok, it was position #3,961. (I have it tattooed on my arm).
Current position for the season: 284,379.
Planned finish (at the start of the season)for FPL in 2014/2015: 1st. Obviously.
Expected finish for the BPL FF game in 2014/2015: Top 50,000 would be nice after that start.
Tell us about yourself in less than 50 words: Essex boy with Scottish roots. Father of two. Family and I moved to the US in June. Loving the American life. Tacos and American Fantasy Football are my two current favorite things.
FAVOURITES
Food: Despite the Taco references, you can’t beat Chicken and Ham pie, or a Roast Dinner.
Drink: Cold Stella Artois. Although a glass of Sancere is pretty damn good too when I’m feeling a bit more cultured.
Band/Type of music: I listen to a bit of everything from Rap to Country Music. Favorite band are Phoenix. (French Electronica-type coolness.)
TV Programme: Can’t pick one. Love list includes The Wire. Pointless. The Trip. Mysterious Cities of Gold (80’s cartoon!). Alan Partridge. 24. Breaking Bad.
Films: Office Space. Dumb and Dumber. Dragnet. NWH (Fear of a black hat). Talladega Nights. Night at the Roxbury. AnchorMan. Don’t be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. Hoop dreams. White men can’t jump. Naked Gun.
Book/Author: I have all of the Andy McNab and all of the John Grishams. Love them all. But my favorite single book is ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’ by Tom Wolfe. Highly recommend you read it.
Joke: My two favorite comedians are Stewart Francis and Milton Jones. A joke from each of them: “My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance; we’ll see about that.” (Stewart Francis) And… “The worst job I ever had was as a forensicologist for the United Nations. One time I thought I’d come across the mass grave of a thousand snowmen, but it turns out it was just a field of carrots.” (Milton Jones)
Country visited (and state why!): Not very exciting, but probably Germany! Beautiful countryside, towns and villages. Cool cities. Brilliant roads. Nice people. Great food and beer.
Country would most like to visit (and state why!) Japan. Just for something completely different. And I like Fish.

Sport: Football (Soccer), but the players nowadays make it very hard to love it as much as I used to.
Sporting Team: Arsenal, but with the same caveat as above.
Sporting Personality: Dennis Bergkamp. I was lucky enough to have a season ticket at Highbury for Bergkamps first season at Arsenal. Best player ever.
Sporting moment on TV: Ray Parlours goal in the 2002 FA Cup final win against Chelsea.
Sporting moment witnessed live: Vieira’s FA Cup winning penalty against Man Utd and last ever kick in an Arsenal shirt, or… Bergkamps first goal at Highbury.
Sporting venue / event you’d most like to visit: Seattle’s NFL stadium.
Do you have any personal sporting achievements you’d like to boast about: Sadly, no.
RANDOMS

Morning guys!! Hope everyone’s doing well. I haven’t been able to come on here as much but I’ve still been reading the articles. This current one was great haha. One thing I’ve noticed is all this talk about Baines… since when did he get so popular?
hey Josh, good to see you mate – many of us have been eyeing up Baines from GW8 onwards as their fixtures turn positive.
Hmm… do you think he’s worth the price? I heard Stones is out for the rest of the year so can they still keep clean sheets?
Josh – sorry for delay. I think they will keep clean sheets, not as many as Chelsea granted, but enough. His attacking prowess will more than make up for it. I think he is worth it yes, some don’t which is fair enough. It’s a game of opinions after all.
7m is quite a lot. I think the only he would be worth it is if he’s in your team for the whole season. It’s hard to own him and all the big name mids and forwards. Although I guess if you go into the mindset of thinking he’s an out of position player (he pretty much plays like it) then we would be all over him haha. I think I’ll wait til Everton show they can keep a clean sheet.
@Cookie/Ulloa. Many thanks for the tip, the comment. I saw one game comment saying he was pulled for Nugent in his last game for not doing anything.

Hello my fellow fantasy managers. This is my current squad (got me 73 pts last week with a 4 pt hit). I have 1FT £2.0 In the bank, WC available. Rank 209K. Was thinking of doing Ulloa to Welbeck.
Tempted to use my WC to address some issues like: De Gea to a 4.5 keeper, Shawcross to Wilson (4.5), Rosenior is not playing regularly so would transfer to Moore (4.0), Rodwell to Boyd (4.4), and upgrade Eriksen to Di Maria and my original transfer of Ulloa to Welbeck. Just got Downing last week so he is my short term punt. If i do all these transfers, i will stay with £1.1 in the bank enough to do Terry to Baines. But is Baines really worth the cash? Would really like to keep a chelsea defender for the long term.
Any suggestions?

You think that now that Ozil is injured, Cazorla can be a good differential pick or would they play Sanchez behind Welbeck? I’m thinking Cazorla at 8.2 would be good. What are your thoughts. Unbelievable how Arsenal players are just getting injured. Debuchy, Giroud, Ramsey, Walcott, Arteta, Sanogo, not to mention Diaby.
Well Diaby’s fit.. Now that’s news. Walcott will come back sooner rather than later. With Ozil out Cazorla should play in that hole with Alexis on the left flank. Cazorla can be a good option. He would take the corners but a fair share of freekicks would go to Alexis as well. I would say he’s the one to watch. But will you shuffle one of the players in that goldmine of a midfield to a single player like Cazorla? I would prefer Danny up front.. But Santi’s still got the charisma for me. Santi m’boy !!
BTW,Sanogo’s shite. Yeah yeah,he is young but he’s still shite.
I guess the ff247 admins can use this picture in some of their articles regarding bans or injuries concerning Arsenal.
We have some nice fixtures coming up and i’m sure Welbeck will be in the goals. As you said, Santi on the watchlist for the meantime.
Hey gang, those of you who are using Fantasy Football Fix, are you giving them your e-mail and password? I checked out the site but didn’t put my info in yet, as I’m a bit apprehensive to potentially give them control of my team (not like they could hose it up any worse than I can, ha!).
Has anyone given them access to their side, and is it OK? I can’t seem to see the price change stuff until I log in I guess…
Hi Red, I did a few weeks back but only after I checked them out and conversed on twitter but it’s all fine. That said if you view it on a PC ie full site there’s an option to just give them your team ID rather than e-mail and password.
