Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.

We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.

Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

Argh, £1.5m is proving so difficult to cut out of my team..I don’t want to talk anyone out sad HAHA

    Evening all!

    Mert or Bertrand?

    Courtois or Cech?

Bertrand will need to be monitored for his fitness. Mertesacker and Koscielny I see being rotated occasionally for Gabriel so if you are desperate for Arsenal defensive coverage, perhaps Cech is the safest bet.

I’d go Cerdric instead of Bertrand for Southampton and save a bit of cash. Morgan too is a risky one, I’d change him for any other Leicester or Norwich defender.

Rest looks very good to me mate.

I’ve decided to stop trying to squeeze Costa in and have settled with this for the time being..thoughts?

      MattX says:

This is a good team mate. I personally don’t like Depay and I’m getting further away from putting him into my team so you could downgrade him and upgrade Rooney to get Costa but I don’t think you need him with Haz in there.

      • AT says:

Hmm, I took Depay out but just read an article on LvG praising him on his debut and Giggs saying he was the first free kick taker they had since Ronaldo so I want to see if he starts taking them in preseason before I make my decision on him.
He also said something about forming a ‘strike partnership with Wazza’ HAHAHA, but yeah that sounds interesting FPL wise.

        • MattX says:

Ye I heard that he was the free kick taker aswell but I believe they got a free kick in their last game and Rooney took it. I also heard he was rather selfish in that game so don’t know about that partnership. Haha

        • AT says:

Hahah, yeah Depay might be happy to receive the ball of Rooney but I can’t imagine Rooney will be too happy with the ‘partnership’ when he never receives it back 😉

        • MattX says:

Exactly! And if Shrek isn’t happy I don’t see Donkey staying on the pitch for too long smile hahah

Sorry meant to be the same thread :/

      • AT says:

Matt, so the question is Krul/Wanyama/JRod or Ruddy/Payet/Wilson with Wanyama and Deeney/Wilson subbing?
Personally prefer A for JRod although it will be interesting to see how this Payet fella settles in.

      • Matt

I like the second one for a 3-5-2 with Wilson/Deeney rotation (which is season-perfect).

One tweak -I’d go Cabaye (or 6.5 you prefer) for Milner and get Hoban up to a playing 4.5M defender then it’s very attractive.

        • MattX says:

          Cheers AT and GP

Well I have these two drafts and then the team that’s currently there. I really liked the J.Rod potential as he is always FPL gold until he gets injured but this Payet fella seems good.

Ye I had a look yesterday and seen that Watford and Bournemouth rotate throughout the entire season so that was appealing but is it leaving me a bit light up top if they aren’t firing? Plus knowing my luck whichever player I bench that week will score while the other gets a yellow and no goal!! Haha smile

I could make that transfer but still holding out on Hoban starting will have to see more preseason before making the change. Milner has been great so far.
