Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.

We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.

Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

Hello all, hope everything is going to plan with your drafts

Good New Season to everyone, First look at the site for this season, seems like there is a fair bit to catch up on. There is plenty of Soccer happening in Australia, everywhere you look there is decent game of football to watch.

This is my first crack at a team. I would love someone to rate it for me, see if there are any obvious problems (besides the skinny defence)

    Courtois (Hamer)
    Morgan, O’Shea, Coloccini (Turner, Ward)
    Yaya, Cazorla, Henderson, Fabregas, (Wanyama)
    Kane, Costa, Rooney

Nice team. I just cant bring myself to make a team without Hazard.

      • I’ve hedged my bets to start with, and went with one decent attacker from each of the main clubs (doubled up on Chelsea).

I agree though, a team without Hazard is like breaking Rule #1. He is just so expensive.

Hey Bund how are we I’m not convinced on the single GK route but it could be only route into the Che def yes def weak have you checked rotation, like the MF although not sure if Yaya will turn up this season I would rather have Milner over Hendo but each will pick points up No Haz & Kun a risk but your att is the strongest I have seen on this site looks good

      • Courtois is there to give me some Chelsea defence.

Why wouldn’t a single GK work this year. has been a standard tactic is past years?

Milner/hendo are interchangeable at this stage. Would you consider Both of them?

        • Silverback says:

Hey Bund no I wouldn’t consider both go with one or the other There is some talk about the bonus system favouring GK with more saves which would help the lower clubs but haven’t checked yet

      *LIVERPOOL*

      Adelaide United 0-2 Liverpool

      Scorers
      James Milner
      Assisted by Jordan Ibe

      Danny Ings
      Assisted by Nathaniel Clyne

      Team
      Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Lovren Gomez (Moreno 46)
      Allen (Markovic 84) Henderson
      Ibe Milner (Lucas 73) Lallana
      Origi (Ings 68)

Whats a good rotation pick for Keepers?.

Morning Everyone. Been seeing people say they wish they could watch some more of the preseason games and remembered that all the games are on the website: First row sports for anyone that wants to use it. Currently watching the Liverpool game now.

      NIN says:

Anyone else really, really struggling to trust Rooney as a pick again this season? All the potential is there but he can be such a waste of money too. £10.5m is a lot, especially when the likes of Kane is £1m cheaper.

      • NIN says:

        Woops, wrong place there!

      • Silverback says:

Hey NIN I’m struggling to get two top fwds in I’ve got Kun , J Rod & Sakho @ present but might start without Kun 1st two games & keeping an eye on R Rod’s progress I would like to go with Kane & Kun

        • NIN says:

Howdy mate. I can get two premiums in, no problem, it’s just whether Rooney is worth it or not. Could just start with him then go straight to Kane, banking £1m for a Sergio move in GW3/4.

        • Raziel says:

Was thinking the same but not having Kun from the get go get become a headache. You never know about those damn injuries/non playing players and you might have to take a few hits to get him in when needed, or use wildcard.

  5. 83
    MattX says:

    @ NIN
About your Rooney question. I’m not really sure about him but just read on Sky Sports that United are happy to rely on Rooney as a lone striker if they don’t sign another one but to me that says there still looking and if they find one he’ll be sitting deeper. I believe their looking at Cavani.

    • 83.1
      Raziel says:

I just read that they don’t need another striker and that LvG is relaxed about Rooney being first striker, Hernandez backup (second striker) and Wilson. He can also deploy Depay as lonestriker (which really isn’t my first choice for him, FPL wise that would be awesome though).

On that note. Stop badmouthing Depay, he’s just played 45 minutes. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Give dude a break. Your Pool colors coming out too clearly there. He might need time to settle in though but he’s class. :p

      • MattX says:

Ah right I thought Hernandez was leaving too? Depay would actually be great FPL wise if he was upfront and the supply was coming to him.

I’ll give him more time, he is a very good player and I liked him but I’ve read a lot of reports and stories that former teammates and managers say he’s not a team player and has a bad attitude. But don’t worry I’ll give him time to prove me wrong smile

        • Raziel says:

Reports, reports. It’s what I said. Well at PSV he was liked very much but his teammates, same at the Netherlands. As a fan I can be annoyed by his selfishness. From FPL point of view that’s perfect though. I think LvG and his current teammates will set him straight, he won’t walk around like Kevin MIrallas and he’s not at the level of an Arjen Robben where you can be that selfish (though, must say, Robben much more a teamplayer now than he’s ever been, weird, I figured he would’ve faded before RvP but RvP has faded at a much rapper rate and well Robben even looked like improving last season).

Depay being a Dutch player I’m extra critical. I remember Suarez being very annoying when he was at the Dutch League, much more so than Depay but he still turned into a worldclass, not? I was a very big Suarez fan though, always been, from his early days before you ever saw his biting face. 😉

        • Raziel says:

Yeah, last rumor Hernandez ain’t leaving. Maybe LvG saw some good shit? I don’t know. I think United wouldn’t be that bad with just Rooney, to be honest. Another worldclass striker and you’ll have the same shit as last year? Anyway, rumors are rumors.

I think they will buy another striker, they really need one now they let go of RvP and Falcao. Also need a central defender.

By the way, you playing Bentekers? You think he’ll be on penalty’s?

        • MattX says:

Ye I think LVG will stop him from becoming a Mirallas because if that happens I don’t see him lasting too long at United. I agree with you on Robben he was very good last season.

I didn’t know too much about Suarez until he came to Liverpool but I know he had a good record at Ajax. Maybe Depay will become world class he just needs the right manager and teammates and I think he could have that at United.
Only thing I will say is if LVG does what he did with Valdes I think Depay could be the type of player to get the hump quickly.

        • Raziel says:

RvP and Valdes are freaking old and should be wiser. I don’t see LvG do the same with Depay, dude is just 21.

As for the philosophy, I understand Valdes/RvP find it hard to play in the second team but they should’ve just swallowed their pride. It’s BS to not do so. Good riddance if you ask me. RvP complaining about it now makes him a weak personality imho. Never was a big fan of RvP the persona anyways.

        • MattX says:

Ye that’s true the old players should be wiser but alot of them feel that they should get what they want and feel they should play every game week in, week out.

    • 83.2
      NIN says:

Yeah Matt, i read that one myself. I’d prefer to have Rooney playing off another proper striker, just not sure of him as a spearhead with our current setup.

      • Raziel says:

Think Rooney as at his best when used as a striker. He will def. outscore last season, he’ll be at 20-30 goals again this season. We’ve really just seen 1 game and can’t tell shit yet.

        • NIN says:

Seen one game? He’s been at United for 11 years!! Never been convinced of him as an out and out striker.

        • Raziel says:

FPL point wise he’s bloody interesting. We are talking FPL right? :p

        • Raziel says:

Depay should be on +10 or +15 even if he does plays regularly. Might be smart to bring him slow though, but you never know what will happen.

      • MattX says:

Ye I always think whenever Rooney plays upfront on his own. He drops back too much to try and win the ball and then he has too much to do to get at goal. This could all change now though that Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger are there to supply the ball.

  6. 84
    Ant0800 says:

Rooney as a striker is very interesting. But i cant pick between Costa and Kun, nevermind Rooney aswel now.
