Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.

We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.

Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

    jamesimmo says:

If I knew that Walcott and J-Rod would be getting starts come GW1 then my team would be sorted… but at the moment I’m thinking Santi (perhaps Ozil too) and Mane are safer shouts to begin with.

The whole uncertainty of it all is part of what makes pre-season and FPL so interesting!

      Andy says:

The rotation possibility’s that the top four teams have now could prove to be a nightmare this season James, having as many regular starters on the bench looks to be more important than ever now in case the worst should happen.

      • jamesimmo says:

Hey there Andy, indeed yeah and I hate spending big on my bench, this will be tough! I’m hoping we’ll get a few more clues before the 8th but I suspect we’ll all be bricking it at 2pm on most Saturdays…

Hey DMC I see you got Teofilo Gutierrez on Sporting.

      • DMC says:

In deed We do Mito! He just signed a week a go! Great signing!

        • DMC, Gutierrez is trouble. It never ends well, but I guess as long as he delivers for a bit before it ends in a ugly divorce.

Teo was from my favourite team in Colombia. He has behaved better there, but everywhere else it has been a complete mess. You are getting a Costa type personality who has seen red cards for some of the antics on the pitch.

When he went to Turkey he forced the club to sell him because he said he couldn’t adapt, but not before punching someone in the face in a league game and getting tossed. In Mexico his club team basically were in a big dispute with him. In Argentina he got into a fight in training with his own mate, got tossed from a game for bumping the referee and pulled a fake gun in an argument against a teammate after a game. That was just on Racing Club, on Lanus he was spotted wearing a rivals kit while on vacation in Colombia so his career there was over before it started. While at River plate his recent club, he left them for Sporting with accusations being tossed around by him and the club about money being owed. I heard many defenders in Argentina call him the biggest piece of shite they have ever had to deal with on a pitch.

Having said all that, there is a reason they keep on giving him chances. He is a very talented player. But it wont end well. smile when it does.

        • DMC says:

Hey Mito! WOW I was aware of his river contract stuff (and previous clubs) but not of the on field antics. Something for the manager to look closely at then. He insisted on the player coming him, according to reports, so he must be aware of it. Also he is now older and probably not willing to screw it again … it’s that or it got worst! Eheheh hopefully we’ll see the good version of him more often than not. Thanx for the heads up.

      Raziel says:

Same could be said for RvP. Well, he did have 1 good year where he won them a trophy. But it’s been downwards since. Decline shouldn’t have been this great at his age. Now he can rot away in Turkey.

Di Maria leaving United after 1 year. Dude is a bum in my eyes, the way he treats his fans, they have been loyal even though he’s been utter shite this past season (apart from the first few games). Not the biggest Ozil fan but at least he avenged himself last season. Now he’s going to a weaker ligue, weaker team in PSG.

      Tekno-kun says:

You really think he said that, elle? Wouldn’t have much respect if he did. I’ve seen plenty of quotes like this on Twitter where big players supposedly say something bashful about a team they’ve played for. You can usually tell that it’s made up by some petty, rivaling supporter.

I’m pretty sure Chelsea had fans before 2003 though, but successful teams always end up getting more supporters. That doesn’t mean the supporters are fickle. That’s why clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Man United have a massive supporter base, because they’ve been immensely successful over a long period.

Everton starting XI (that played Hearts): Howard, Baines, Stones, Jagielka, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Mirallas, Osman, Kone, Lukaku.

Lukaku hat trick two of them came off pens. Baines was on the pitch when he took them, so if there was any doubt left about who took them that might settle it. One of his goals came from a Coleman cross and Barry caused one of the pens off a shot that was handled. Not sure how the other pen came about.
