Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.
We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.
Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.
Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

Not terrible at all. That’s a hefty midfield. Do your cheapo strikers rotate ok from a home and away perspective? Finding 2 in that price range that do could be the key to making this plan work.

Watford and Bournemouth rotate perfectly whenever ones away the others at home.
The defence is ok. In a functional sense. Couple of regular starters (as in for your actual team) and the rest can rotate. Not a fan of the 1 club GK strategy personally. May work if it’s for a better team but not them.
Ye Cedric and Mert will play every week with Mings and Muniesa being main choice for that third spot with Hoban in for special occasions.
Ye I was thinking of Wilson to a 5 mil striker but can only see Jerome as a good buy but was told he gets swallowed up in the premier league. Is there anyone else at 5 mil and then I’d upgrade Rudd to Krul I think.
I like that, a bit different than what I have seen so far. Guess the key would be that those strikers get off to a decent start.
Ye I just did up another draft earlier and I just wasn’t sure on the forwards. It just seems really unbalanced to me.
I have the same frontline in my current draft Matt! Hadn’t seen it crop up on here yet. They’re both good, seemingly solid, cheap options – and I’d happily own either – so I thought ‘why not both?’…
…it’s a risk but it helps a lot elsewhere! Gives me Ivan, Mane, Walcott, Hazard and Depay.
Ye I’ve watched them from their time in the Championship and I know they were good there but that’s alot different from the premier league. I love the midfield I’m able to choose and your mid plus Ivan sounds good apart from Depay but that’s personal opinion.

I caught the highlights of the Stoke game today and Arnautovic stood out. He was a bit interrupted last season for various reasons but still got a goal and 7 assists. The previous season he had a cleaner run and got 4 goals and 10 assists. I fancy him at 6.0 as a rotating midfielder.

No problems.
Cedric is looking very good for his price and Saints have some appealing fixtures. J-Rod hopeful begins the league season. Maybe not be used in Europa but for me, he’s still their main striker.
Cheers GP, really like the format of setting out the team formation rather than just the starting names, should be of great use to everyone.

Glad you like. They’re not 100% accurate but mostly they are taken how the club themselves describe the line-up and formation through their official media channels. Next to watching the game live, its the closest we can get.
