Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.

We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.

Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

How does this team look? 😛
    Comments please smile

Ospina will not be playing now Cech is there. I’d swap him for a 4.5 GK who rotates with Guzan.

Your bench is very weak. Downgrade Monreal or Williams to raise a bit extra to Improve Baker I think.

        How does this one look?

        • Smash10 says:

This looks better. Need to get rid of Bacuna who might not even play

        • Magichatmatt says:

Interesting point about Bacuna. He played less than 1000 minutes last season and got 5 assists. Seems like Sherwood likes him also. He will not get the volume of clean sheets that others can but his attacking returns look good providing he keeps in Tims plans

        • Bacuna is a natural mid and good set piece taker. So not surprising he has offensive prowess, that was never his problem. He can’t defend, in part because he is asked to play out of position and that might cost him minutes. He could be used as a mid also at some point, so watch for that as that will make him valuable. I would wait a little more to see if he will beat out Hutton for the RB berth.

    Great concept for an article

    MattX says:

Liverpool reach agreement with Aston Villa for Benteke. He’s expected to have his medical in the next 48 hours but he won’t join Liverpool on their preseason tour.

Don’t know if him not joining the team will mean he won’t start GW1 for us might be given time to get to know the club with Ings upfront for a while.

      Smash10 says:

Really not convinced by this signing. Thought Liverpool would have been better going for Bacca and Rondon

      • MattX says:

Ye to be honest neither am I. We don’t play in too many crosses but hopefully that will change with Moreno and Clyne down the wings. Plus we don’t play long balls forward too often and with Gerrard gone it’ll happen even less. So we don’t really need a “big man” up top.

        • Matt, medicals already booked for Monday morning, he’ll be announced in the evening probably. He will more than likely fly to Malaysia to meet up with the rest of the squad. Have you seen the stats about his scoring, he has only scored something like 30 odd % with his head ? We will be ok, stop worrying. laugh

        • MattX says:

Ok I didn’t see that star about his headers so that makes it a bit more encouraging smile Sky sports reported that he isn’t flying out at all. So the only game he could play is Swindon.

        • Ant0800 says:

I seen a stat on sky sports saying hes scored 64% of his goals from pentaltys and his head. Plus Liverpool delivered the least amount of corners in the whole league last season. I think there’s a lot to worry about.

        • Kop Warrior says:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, stats are overrated!

        • Change of plan, Benteke will have a medical in London, the team doctor is flying back from Australia to conduct the medical. Benteke will then go to Melwood to train with Coutinho and Firmino who are due back on Wednesday. The squad fly back after Fridays game in Australia.

        • MattX says:

Ah I thought so. Cheers Elle.

        • NIN says:

          Kop – I couldn’t agree more. Stats-shmats smile

      • PunkDragon says:

The Kop support out in full force with the news. Thanks.

    Morning folks,

GP, many thanks for getting all of this info together in one place. Now we just need to decide which players are the real deal and who’s just a pre-season wonder!
