Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.
We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.
Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.
Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

Morning all, how does this team look?
Pantilimon should abuse the new saves change for more BPs; I’m hoping United have gained more solidity with their new look midfield and will bring in a centre abck, hence Darmian; Jenko and Cook rotate perfectly for the first 8 or so weeks.
My main problem is no Arsenal attacker. After seeing yesterday’s performance the fluidity they played with for their goals makes me think I’d be foolish to go without, but what do I change? I’m already punting on no Aguero to begin with so I can’t really ax Sterling yet I don’t have the funds to upgrade Hendo/Milner. I could drop JRod but he looks a great price to me.
Ozil played behind Giroud yesterday which is very interesting and Cazorla bagged one and set up two more.
But yeah, thoughts on this team and the above Arsenal problem would be very much appreciated.
I’d personally change Rooney >> Deeney and then Change Richie >> Arsenal cover. Rooney hasnt done well points wise for a good few seasons now, and theres ????’s on where he will even play this season.
Morning Ant,
That is certainly one possibility. I just feel that Rooney is in for a good season and he has an excellent record against his first handful of rivals. He scored 190 points two seasons back from 2400 minutes and last season he still gained 132 playing largely as a midfielder behind frustratingly poor strikers.
This season, with no striker coming through in the transfer window and their two from last year departing I’m not so sure there are that many question marks over where he will play. Food for thought though!
Rooney’s problem is his points all come at once and then nothing for a large amount of games.
Let’s hope he hits the ground running then I can ship him 😉
Hi AT,
Where did you read about the changes to how saves contribute to bonus points? I agree that Sunderland’s style of defending deep and in numbers offers Pants plenty of opportunity to make saves and convert them into bonus. Pants may well be worth the 5.0, especially considering his early fixtures.
@Los Machos, not sure where he read it, but here is two screenshots illustrating who were the biggest winners and losers of bonus points I found online.
The colours are just to identify their positions. Green for keepers and so on…
MIto
What does the – numbers mean??
So in the case of Pants at the top It means he would have got 10 extra bonus points last season if the new rules would have been in place. IF you look closely you will see Keepers and Defenders all over it. That is why we have all been hearing that they will do better in the bonus department. The second graph shows you who would have lost the most points if the new rules were in place last season.
Ah I get it now. That’s surprising Haz,Silva and Sterling didn’t do the best. Don’t think Guzan will do as well this year.
Wow! Thanks, Mito…
it’s almost worrying how seriously some people take this FPL thing!
Morning everyone!
What do you think of Zouma’s chances of gaining a regular spot this season? I just checked that Cahill is only 29, thought he was at least 32! Anyway, will be interesting to see which gets the most game time in pre-season.
He probably wont get a sniff.
Probably one to avoid still with Cahill and Terry still being ahead of him and Chelsea in the market for another CB (Stones?), I don’t see Terry playing as much as he did last season however so there could be the possibility for Zouma’s game time to increase, Azpi and Ivan are far safer options from the Chelski defense along with GK Courtois, when it comes to the premium defensive players it’s always safer to pay the extra £ rather than try to sneak in there on a budget player.
Vlaar is out for 3 or 4 months. There goes my cheap Soton defender coverage.
I found this the other day, it was useful.

Also came across it, West Ham/Bournemouth rotation looks great!
Theres still lots of regulars not getting in touch, get on with it. I am starting a new classic league this season for regular posters on the site, there will also be a cup competition aswell. So, can you e-mail me please giving your regular site name, your real name and the name of your fantasy football team, so when people ask me who someone is i can tell them, cheers.
E-mail address is :- Elleffcee@fantasyfootball247.co.uk
For those who have already e-mailed me, the code has been sent back to you. Cheers.
Thanks Elle just joined up. Some interesting names in there. Should be good fun. Can’t wait to get my prize. I have a black car so keep that in mind if I win when you steel the hubcaps off another car.
Will do Mito.
If you have a fit Costa, do you really need Hazard?
I think there will be weeks where if you don’t own Haz there will be a lot of cussing going on. Particularly on a week where he is the primary choice for captain and he does well. Not having the top scorer at some point will bite you, but so will not having others in this game. Probably just a matter of picking a team and hoping the ones you left out don’t smack you senseless. Guessing people who do well have a knack for seemingly having the right ones a majority of the time unlike many of us.
Yep, most definitely.
I think Costa could certainly cover Hazard. I’d be unsure about any Man City midfielder being able to make up for a fit Aguero though.
Tnx guys, Think I’m losing it.
