Fantasy Premier League 2015-16 Pre-Season Round up

Hello. Happy Summer everyone and welcome to your Pre-Season Article. The article is intended as a ‘work-in-progress’ and a workspace where we can keep each other up to date with all the latest line-up and substitution news for all twenty of this season’s Premier League teams ahead of our final selection of our fantasy squads.

We should also record the scoreline particulars including the all-important scorers, assisters and ‘nearly men’. Any salient information such as a defender on penalty kicks duties, a midfielder playing striker or Asmir Begovic playing some part in a Chelsea match to let him think he has a chance of playing this season, can be found here.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to witness any of the action, your opinion is valued too so let us know who impresses and doesn’t impress during these games.

Now you may have noticed the cunning use of “your”, “we”, and “each other” above. This is not a one-man band, because I’m useless musically and I’m not on at all hours (as much as I would like to be), so please do get involved – get the line-ups ‘up’ and the opinions flowing.

    Raziel says:

Okay, if this was the first GW, would I be good with this team?

    Ruddy
    Cedric-Merte-Azpi
    Mane – Wally – Hazard – Albrighton
    JRod – Rooney – Costa

Bench (weak): Hennessey – Bassong – Hoban – Barry

      Raziel says:

Would like to get rid of Hazard but people are against it. sad

      • I am not necessarily against it. If it betters your overall team, go for it. You could drop him for some City cover and invest elsewhere. He is expensive for a reason, but he is not an absolute must either.

        • Raziel says:

Last season he startd slow, I had Fabs and I think Fabs outscored him the first few weeks.

        • Raziel says:

My current draft looks 50 percetn different from last weeks, maybe more. HAHAHA.

        • Andy says:

Haz actually has a history of starting slow for what it’s worth, I’m buying into Fab so that I can have more money pumped into my defenders and rotation options.

        • @Andy, he has certainly started a bit slow the last two seasons. First 6 games last season he scored 28 points in the next 6 (GW7-12) after that he scored 39. The season before that he only scored 15 and then proceeded to score 46 in the immediate 6 weeks after that. The exception is his first season where he scored 42 in his first 6 games and followed that up with 34 in the next 6.
He seems to get very consistentabout 7 GWs in or so but a bit of a slow starter like you said.

        • Andy says:

Good to know, I’ve only got his goal ratio to hand which is poor for the opening weeks (for Haz), his assists must still be fairly decent though judging by them stats.

        • Yeah Andy I remember his debut week 3 years ago. He had a monster haul of assists. It was something ridiculous like 5 in the first 2 games. It was a DGW against Reading and I forget the 2nd team.

      NIN says:

Personally, i wouldn’t start the season with those subs. There’s potentially three non-starters there so way too risky for me. Team looks solid though.

      AT says:

Would want at least one City attacker Raz. Also, I don’t think you need both Mane and JRod.

      • Raziel says:

True that. I’ll see what I can do. 😉

If I do JRod to Deeney I can upgrade Mane to Sterling and tighten the defense.

        • Raziel says:

Awwww f that, this is giving me a headache. I’ll do this another time. :p

        • AT says:

Hahahah, my response to tinkering every day laugh

        • Raziel says:

It’s fun to do but it’s frecking useless since only time can tell what choice we will eventually make. A lot can and will chance in the upcoming weeks. Vlaar being out for 3 to 4 months being the perfect example, if that were to happen to lets say Hazard, Kun. A lot of things could happen.

    RMT –

    Ruddy – Rudd

    Koscielny – Williams – O’Shea – Mings – Huth

    Hazard – Depay – Chadli – Ritchie – Wanyama

    Aguero – Costa – Deeney

      NIN says:

A, for me. I’m not a fan of the Jenkinson pick though, nor the Baker one. I’d probably bin them two + Francis and get a rotation pair in and then a backup defender who works okay with the rotation.

    • 52.3
      Andy says:

I really like the Rooney pick for now as I’m not sure on whether or not Man Utd will be bringing in another forward, you’d have to think that they will but when could be key as they might just leave it till very late in the transfer windows.

Matt Ritchie of Bournemouth looks overpriced at 6 for a newly promoted team, I’m surprised at that price tag for a player who has never played EPL football.

You could drop Pants to Guzan and upgrade Baker to O’shea to have the same defensive coverage from both SAFC and AVFC but with a more nailed on starting combo although I’m unsure to the rotation aspect of it all. (I don’t think Baker is nailed on yet.)

        • Grenadier says:

          Thx guys.
reason why I picked Jenkenson and Francis is bcuz West Ham and Bou rotate very well for the first 6-8 games.

How about if cresswell instead of Jenkenson and cook instead or Francis?

Ritchie is the man for Bou, and takes set pieces. Who would you suggest to replace him with though?

        • Andy says:

I don’t think I’d be overly confident of having to play a Bournemouth mid week in and week out as my fourth mid, I’d maybe take one as a fifth at a lesser price (Surman 4.5) as a punt, I’m not sure just yet how many goals they’ll be able score.

        • Grenadier says:

Ok, you might be right. I’ll look for other alternative.. thanks for the help.
