Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 32
Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 32. After an international break, the FA decided to give us three GWs over nine days ā there is non-stop action going on here folks as the next round kicks off at Saturday noon when Spurs welcome Watford to White Hart Lane. All the big teams face weaker opposition this round, meaning that there are several players to consider for the armband. Manchester City, Everton, and Tottenham all play at home, while Chelsea have to take the trip to Bournemouth, and Arsenal face Palace in a London derby. Manchester United face Sunderland, but their recent shyness in front of goal and lack of fantasy options exclude any United players from being among the options in this article. I assume most Zlatan owners are ghost teams, but if any of you have brought him in, he at least deserves to be considered for the armband, given his opposition. The rest of the standout captain candidates for this GW are mentioned below, so let us take a look at which players to consider captaining this game-week, shall we?
Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli (home vs Watford)
[three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fifth]
It looked like the Tottenham boys were going to blank Wednesday night against Swansea, before a late comeback saw both Eriksen and Alli reward their owners with a goal and an assist apiece. Alli has been the form player recently, gathering four goals and three assist in his last five matches, while Eriksen has gotten two goals and four assists in the same run of fixtures. Tottenham have won five Premier League matches in a row, and with their opponents being Watford at White Hart Lane at the weekend, there is no reason to believe that they will not win this match as well. Watford may have won their last two matches, but they were at home against Sunderland and West Bromwich. A quick look through Watfordās results this season shows that they have consistently struggled against teams better than them ā for instance, Tottenham won 4-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Tottenham are clear favourites to win this match comfortably, and whichever attacking Tottenham player you have should be considered a captain candidate that is not only likely to produce a good score but could even provide an explosive score if Tottenham decide to run riot.
Sergio Aguero (home vs Hull)
[three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fifth]Both City and Aguero have been a bit of a mixed bag recently. After winning four matches in a row, City have three draws and one loss in their recent matches. Excluding Stoke, these matches were against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea, so City and Aguero will be glad to see that Hull are coming to the Etihad next. While Aguero has failed to deliver double digit points since GW13, he has four goals and one assist in his last six matches, showing consistency rather than explosiveness. Hull may have improved under Marco Silva, winning three of their last four home matches, but their last three away games have resulted in three losses and nine goals conceded. In fact, Hull have not kept a clean sheet in seven matches, relying on outscoring their opponents rather than keeping it tight at the back. As such, this may be the match where Aguero runs riot again. He has consistently improved since being dropped for Gabriel Jesus, and if City play the way we know they can play, Aguero could be an excellent captain choice.
Eden Hazard, Diego Costa (away vs Bournemouth)
[three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fifth]While still being top of the league, Chelsea have āonlyā won three of their last five matches, with a loss to Crystal Palace and a draw against Burnley. They may face a tougher opponent than we expect when they travel to face Bournemouth, as Bournemouth have not lost in five matches, earning two wins and three draws in the process. If we look at Chelseaās recent matches, we can see that they have been tight: three 2-1 victories, one 1-2 loss, then two 3-1 victories and two 1-1 draws before that. In other words, Chelsea have managed to ground out victories, despite dominating their opponents less than previously. As such, they must be considered favorites for this match as well. Their standout players, Costa and Hazard, are the two captain candidates from this team. Costa has blanked in his last three matches, but managed three goals and one assist in the five preceding matches. We all know Costaās quality, but recent form suggests that Hazard is the better option, as he has failed to score or assist in only three of his last twelve matches. Additionally, he has three double digit returns in his last six matches, scoring four goals, two assists, and nine bonus points, which shows that he is as explosive as he is consistent. In two of the matches he got three bonus points, he only scored one goal and was substituted yet still managed to get all three bonus points, proving how influential he is while on the pitch. While Bournemouth may present a challenge to Chelsea, the Blues must still be considered favourites. Expect Chelsea to grind out another victory here, with Hazard and Costa leading the line, making them both prime candidates for your armband.
Phillipe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi (away vs Stoke)
[three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fifth]With both Lallana and Mane injured, many raised questions as to how these injuries would affect Liverpoolās attacking play, but it was defensively Liverpool struggled as they played 2-2 at home against Bournemouth Wednesday night. Origi and Coutinho both scored a goal, with Firmino providing an assist. While I am highlighting three players from Liverpool, they have all produced well recently. Coutinho has two goals and one assist in his last two matches, Origi has two goals and two assists in Liverpoolās last five matches despite only starting two of them, and Firmino has one goal and five assists in his last six. Stoke have gone four matches without a win, and they have consistently played poorly against better teams, losing 1-4 at Anfield earlier this season. Liverpool are on better form, with three wins and two draws recently. While the trip to Britannia may scare some fantasy managers away from Liverpool players, Liverpool are the favorites to win against a team that underperforms against better opposition, and Coutinho, Firmino, and Origi are all likely to be among Liverpoolās goals, and they are also likely to be overlooked by many as captain candidates for this round.
Romelu Lukaku (home vs Leicester)
[three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
[/three_fifth]Despite blanking against Liverpool and Manchester United, Lukaku had great form before these matches, as he had five goals and two assists in the four preceding matches. Lukaku has grown from being the unreliable fantasy player we all had come to love and hate to being a consistent performer, putting him top of the top scorer chart with twenty-one goals this season. Evertonās recent performances have been as expected: they won comfortably at home against Sunderland, Hull, and West Bromwich, scoring nine goals and conceding none in the process, while they lost away against Tottenham and Liverpool and earned a draw at Old Trafford. Evertonās opponents, Leicester, have won all five matches since Ranieriās sacking, but it is noteworthy that four of these matches were at home and that Liverpool was the only team in the top half of the table they faced. In other words, Everton away will be Shakespeareās biggest test so far, and with Evertonās remarkable home form, Everton must surely be considered the favourites here. Lukaku has double digit returns in three of Evertonās last four home matches, making Lukaku a reliable and explosive captain candidate.

Fixture Tracker
The Tracker in full…
DGW34 IS ON THERE AS CONFIRMED BUT DGW37 IS VERY MUCH PROVISIONAL!
That’s our best guess as to how it will pan out and there is still Southampton vs Arsenal to be rearranged. That looks likely to be in GW35 or 36. The FPL site itself has said that they expect the remaining games to be confirmed on or around the 7th April.
Teams with DGW’s ahead… (with thanks to Rosco)
Officialy my worste two weeks back to back, down from 23k to 62k, Surgery is needed.
I kneejerked my transfer already, brought Kun in already.
Any thoughts? .2 itb
All defenders injured last GW and Valencia and Mcauley no points plus no spurs cover
I would leave as is, i wouldn’t hit for a defender.
Moving forward I think Zaha (for DGW 34) and Alli/Erik would be better options than Firmino and Siggy so maybe look to do those moves either next week or over the next 2!
I would either leave it or if you can afford it Alli and a cheapo in for Siggy and Snoddy
Thanks Guys, yeah its been painful as i had brilliant momentum and Sanchez and Ali whole season only to drop or shd i say sacrifice, how i regret some decisions from GW 26
Tekno,
Lovely run-down of the captain choices there mate. Thank you for giving us your thoughts. I’ll decide late on probably.
Afternoon gents,
Any thoughts on the below?
1. Roll the FT
2. Llorente to Origi
3. Siggy/ King to Coutinho / Sane
4. Sanchez to Hazard?
I have 1FT and Ā£2.0 ITB
Thanks
I’d be doing 2. this is what I did in 31 and it worked out well!
Rosco talks sense here
guys ive got Van Aanhold and have kept him solely due to upcoming dgw. He has two very tough fixtures and im starting consider selling him. A potential replacedment would be gabriel who has 2 dgws. wise or foolish??
Gabriel is risky. Not sure how long Kos is out for. On top of that Gabriel always gets injured
Gabriel won’t play in both the DGW’s as he’s only in as a replacement for Kos who’s reportedly due to be back in action before any of the DGW’s take place, Merts is also on the verge of fitness so Gabriel doesn’t look the best of options.
The problem is PVA, I don’t think he was supposed to be out this long originally and with the DGW right around the corner it’s looking less and less likely that he’d be a sure fire starter for both of them, they both look like crap games for the Palace defense so I’d potentially be willing to cut my losses and ditch him.
Thanks for the insight guys. I had read that kos injury was worse than first thought. I need to sell PVA to allow me to buy kane so not looking for this transfer till gw33. I could get gibson but feel its too much for a boro def but he has 2 great fixtures for dgwm
A United defender would maybe make sense
i already have ddg and valencia. I wasnt going to use a transfer this week but ive transfered deeney out for origi.
Fair enough leave it at that then
Hi guys,
I have 1FT and 1m in the bank.
Should I WC this week?
Can’t see any reason you would want/need to WC here – that’s a good, balanced team. Save your WC for the Double Gameweek unless you hit a real injury crisis. Amat is the only non-playing issue you have, which is hardly pressing. Replace Llorente or Phillips – or both over two weeks – by downgrading one and upgrading the other since you can only have 7 front players.
Nah wild card ain’t needed. Just swap Llorente for Origi
Though Gabbadini if he’s fit
Guys, I’m off on holiday tomorrow, so need to make my move tonight – and would really appreciate some guidance.
I’m currently 10 points clear in my ML, with my main rival having Kun as a differentiator . I have 1FT and 1.2 ITB.
I like it the idea of getting Ibra for DGW34, but I’m open to suggestions. I plan on WC’ing GW36, for the bumper DGW37.
Here’s some of my thoughts…
1) Siggy to Sane
2) Costa & Sanchez to Kun & Hazard (-4)
3) Costa & Siggy to Kun & Zaha (-4)
4) Fletcher to de Roon, and play AOA
5) Costa to Ibra
I’m not that excited by any of these options. They all have negative connotations for one reason or another. Is there anything obvious I’m missing? Is Coutinho a worry?
Thanks very much.
Banjo – Am I wrong to think your weeks always end on a thursday?
As for your moves I wouldn’t take a hit if protecting a thick advantage like that. You would basically giving him 4 pts that you can’t compensate with Kun as both of you will surely capo him. I say you save it. And play Pieters ahead of holgate/huth.
DMC, I’ve usually made my move by Monday š
Thanks for your help. I guess rolling it over would give me more options next week.
I’m not usually one for having the patience to save it tho!
I’d be tempted to leave it and hide behind the sofa when Kun plays. Bournemouth always concede and Costa is probably due.
Well thankfully I’ll be on a remote pacific island when Kun plays. So I’ll just wait until I find wifi and shit myself as it’s loading.
Blimey, two recommendations to stick. Unless I hear otherwise that’ll be my decision then! Thanks.
Now that’s the life. I’d happily go with Kun and Zaha as well though
Don’t go tempting me after telling me to hold fire š
Option 3 Banjo. I am thinking Costa to Aguero myself as I smell goals.
Thanks Neilos. Would you not be slightly scared of taking a hit to ditch Siggy when he’s up against a leaky west ham next?
