Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 31 Tips
This season’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is heading down the final stretch and players across the world are gearing up for the all-important run-in.
If your team is in a mini-league with cash prizes up for grabs, the final eight weeks of the campaign will be crucial in determining where you finish.
For FPL players who also enjoy wagering on sport, climbing a few extra places up the standings could deliver a handy boost to your bankroll ahead of the summer schedule.
There is a ton of top-class action taking place in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which will provide punters with plenty of betting opportunities.
They include the prestigious All-Ireland Senior Football Championship – an event that is already generating plenty of action on the top GAA betting sites in Ireland and further afield.
However, before we can turn our attention to upcoming events, there’s the small matter of completing the 2022/23 Premier League season to consider.
FPL players undoubtedly face some big decisions to make, so read on as we look at some of the key talking points to consider in Gameweek 31.
James a rare plus point for Chelsea
Reece James was a rare shining light for Chelsea in their dismal 1-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
The right-back was the Blues’ most creative outlet at Molineux, supplying five key passes and a season-best tally of 17 crosses.
He took all eight of Chelsea’s corners on Saturday, which suggests he could be a prime candidate to pick up some assists over the next few weeks.
The full-back’s performance makes him a much better proposition than Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell, neither of whom are certain of their places under Frank Lampard.
Don’t rush to ditch Rashford
Marcus Rashford left his FPL managers facing a conundrum after he hobbled out of Manchester United’s victory over Everton in Gameweek 30.
Rashford’s price has risen from £6.5m to £7.3m this season, so temporarily ditching him could prove to be a costly business.
While the Red Devils’ busy schedule is placing unwelcome strain on their players, it is too soon to make any knee-jerk decisions about Rashford.
If you bought Rashford at a cheaper price than his current value, sit tight and hope that his injury does not keep him out of action for too long.
Keep an eye on the suspension returnees
There are some enticing options scheduled to return to action after suspension who are well worth considering for Gameweek 31.
Casemiro is available for Man United’s trip to Forest after completing his four-match ban for his dismissal against Southampton.
The midfielder chipped in with some valuable points earlier in the season and will be eager to impress after his spell on the sidelines.
Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also free to return, although it may pay to wait until the Foxes have played Manchester City before putting him in your team.
